Stayed Jan 29, 2026Laura was the best host I have ever had ! She was very knowledgeable, extremely helpful. Guiding us to plan the best family vacation ever (beaches, events, restaurants ) and every communication was sprinkled with kindness. The Red Ohana was fantastic !!! The home spacious, clean, beds comfortable, comforters and pillows were luxurious, lots of space for our family of five !! And the location was absolutely prime ! There’s nowhere else I would stay on the island ! If you’re considering staying here - a thousand percent YES ! It’s a home away from home !

Stayed Sep 12, 2025Everything about our stay at the Red Ohana 3-bedroom was amazing! The home is beautifully maintained, thoughtfully equipped, and incredibly comfortable. The location is peaceful and perfect for exploring Waimea and the surrounding areas. But the real gem? Laura. She's Waimea's best kept secret - warm, responsive, and full of great local insight. She made us feel more like welcomed guests than renters. Can’t wait to come back. Mahalo, Laura, for an unforgettable experience!

Stayed Feb 22, 2025The three bedroom Red Ohana house was perfect for our group of three adult couples. The house is maintained in excellent condition and was open and available for the easiest check-in we have ever experienced! The house was spacious, for our group of six adults and the kitchen was fully equipped for making everything from breakfast coffee ( three different coffee pots to make regular drip coffee, K cup brewed coffee or French press coffee ) to a full evening meal if desired.

Stayed Dec 28, 2024This is a great place to stay in Waimea. Beautiful setting and immaculate home. Our host left a fabulous book of information about the big island which included local favorites and must do activities. We did a lot of driving because our activities were down in Volcano National Park and in Kona, but coming back to our restful house and eating locally each evening was perfect

Stayed Aug 2, 2024At the top of my five star ratings was Laura, the property manager. She knows this island very well and readily shared her thoughts. More than a property manager, she was the best concierge for our group of Girl Scouts, moms and younger siblings.

Stayed Jul 1, 2024House was as pictured- and comfortable. Had a couple blips- but these were addressed quickly. A little noise from roosters and early am car traffic. But overall had a great stay here. Easy access to everything we wanted to do- and some great restaurants right in Waimea.

Stayed Jul 9, 2024Red Ohana is the perfect location to see everything on the Big Island, while providing a lovely and restful retreat. The house is spectacularly clean and well appointed with lovely Hawaiian touches. There are grocery stores just a few miles away in Waimea and a Wednesday and Saturday farmers market with wonderful fruit, veggies, and fish to purchase. Laura was a perfect host - super kind and helpful. Excellent base to attend the Hawai’i Performing Arts Festival.

Stayed May 16, 2024My husband and I got married at Anna Ranch Heritage Center in Waimea and booked both Red Ohanas for our wedding party. It was the perfect weekend and we can’t thank Laura enough for a magical place to stay! Very comfortable beds, fluff and fold + cleaning service throughout, and a fantastic location. We will definitely return in years to come :)
