A beautiful double-fronted Georgian home situated in the traditional seaside town of Budleigh Salterton.

With its elegant interior, period features and position just moments away from the town's pretty pebble beach and high street, Poplar Cottage creates an idyllic retreat on Devon's east coast; equally suited to blissful family holidays and luxury stays. Recently renovated to an exceptional standard, the house which has been professionally styled, flows effortlessly between its two floors, offering guests light and airy downstairs living, and spacious bedrooms above. Combining old-world glamour with up-to-date chic, an original staircase, sash windows and ornate fireplaces juxtapose contemporary furnishings and tasteful accessories, all basking in the floods of natural daylight that stream in from virtually every angle.

The ground floor kitchen and open plan dining room have a touch of French farmhouse.

Please note that due to the warm weather the Aga is switched off during July and August. It will be switched back on in September (weather depending). The two-ring induction hob, combination microwave oven and BBQ are available for cooking.

We ask our guests for a £150 good housekeeping bond, which is pre-authorised against your card. This is in case there is any damage to the property during your stay. The money is simply reserved and then released afterwards if there is no claim. We will contact you nearer the time of your arrival to arrange this.

    Another wonderful stay in Budleigh. We choose Poplar Cottage as we know it's well looked after, comfortable and has everything we need. On a cold day the aga is welcoming and warm. The location is second to none with enticing views of the sea. We will of course be back.

    Poplar Cottage was perfectly furnished with top quality fixtures and fittings. It was the proverbial home from home. The location is excellent, being seconds away from Budleigh's shops and yet completely quiet. Nights were totally undisturbed. A plus point for us was that dogs are not allowed, so no worries about dog hairs etc. The cottage was spotless. We would not hesitate to stay again.

    What a wonderful cottage and great location close to the sea in Budleigh Salterton. We have visited this area many times over the past 5o years and staying in Poplar Cottage proved the best ever. Faultless luxury. We will be back!

    This is a lovely cottage is in a great spot, very close to the sea and the high street but still quiet and relaxing. The living room is very nicely set out for a small group or family to spend time together in the evenings and the TV is excellent. The showers are fantastic, great water pressure. The house was really clean and the housekeeper Paula was very obliging when we needed a little help. Having a parking spot in very handy too. The only downside is the Aga which is a pain to use if you do a lot of cooking though it does keep the kitchen very cosy.

    Accessing the cottage with the double lock we struggled with ,otherwise it was a delightful cottage, ideal for visiting our family in Budleigh.We could not fault it in any way .

    Poplar Cottage is a real gem. We had a lovely few days there at the end of November, enjoying the luxury and comfort of this well-equipped, warm and spacious house which had almost everything anyone could wish for, including being a stones throw from the beach and all the joys of winter seascapes and swimming. It was an unexpected bonus to have a dedicated parking space for making arrival and departure as easy as could be. Poplar Cottage is a great base for exploring the nearby towns of Sidmouth, Exmouth and as well as the Jurassic coast not far away. It is directly on the route of some great walks and cycle rides and nearby some great country pubs too. We could not recommend more highly and hope to be back again soon

    Perfect, well equipped and beautifully decorated. Both owner and housekeeper were very responsive and helpful when contacted. Great location near the sea and fantastic in the centre of Budleigh to have parking. Recommend!
