We choose Cherry Mills Lodge because of the number of rooms and layout. Our group consisted of 7 families 20 people in total. The property exceeded our expectations in every way. A beautiful well built, 150 year old lodge with ample space, multiple porches and eating spaces, larger rooms, a third floor kitchen prep area. Space galore. Creek runs right through to the property, adjacent the lodge. Manicured lawn. There was more than enough room inside and outside. The location was secluded and very peaceful. The few neighbors that we did see and in town were very friendly. We would definitely stay there again.
As a family of 24 from ages 2-63, it is hard to find a place for all of us to stay. This lodge was big enough, very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was nice and there was dining room seating for everyone. There were lots of good beds and baths and the rooms were quiet. Linens and towels were provided which is great for a group of our size. The children loved swimming in the creek and we enjoyed the fire pit every night. The swings and porch chairs were a great place to sit and watch the water. We enjoyed playing table games inside and outside. There are lots of good games, books and puzzles provided at the lodge. The checker board table was a favorite. The owner was good at communicating things to us. This is a beautiful restored lodge full of amazing pieces of history that can be appreciated by adults more than small children. An adult retreat would be amazing here. We made lots of good family memories.
We searched for a country lodge back in January hoping for a post Covid family reunion in August. Cherry Mills appeared as a new listing boasting large comfortable bed and common rooms, an expansive kitchen and a beautiful country setting. We needed space for about 20 people ranging from 8 to 84 within a 3 hour drive of southeast Pennsylvania. Our family likes to cook, eat, socialize and play indoors and out and the lodge seemed to fit the bill. The family arrived with high hopes and the lodge exceeded our expectations. We found Cherry Mills to be exceptionally clean, spacious, charming, well equipped, well maintained and comfortable. We cooked extravagant meals in the great kitchen and had plenty of dining space to seat the entire family at once. Many of us hiked, swam, fished, biked and kayaked during the days while others relaxed indoors or out and we all enjoyed the evening campfires. Cherry Mills Lodge was all that was advertised and much more.
I want to review my vrbo experience. 1. a week before our vacation I get a cancellation notice because the owners sold the property. I then had an anxiety ridden 5 days not knowing if I was going to have a place to go for vacation. When I rebooked I think I ended up paying for damage protection twice once in Feb and once in July. We should have been told the property was up for sale and this could happen I was not impressed with VRBO and would not recommend them to other people seeking vacation plans. I could not get ahold of anyone when I received the cancellation and again am upset about paying twice for damage protection. this should not have been offered a second time. The place was great we stayed and we had a good time, but the anxiety prior to going ruined the vacation for me.
