Pet friendly + Private yard: Close to Charleston

Traveling for summer baseball and we were playing at Charleston Southern for the weekend. The house was close to CSU and convenient to stores. The house is older but comfortable. The neighborhood is quiet. There were a few things that need minor repairs. We did encounter a issue with termites. There was larve on the living room ceiling when we arrived and they swarmed at night. We did get bug spray and sprayed. The owner was very responsive and did offer to send Terminex out.

Neighborhood was not the best. Homes in the area not well cared for. Train tracks close by, trains ran throughout the day and night. Upon arrival we received an email that the washer was not working. We were told it would be repaired or replaced during our stay. It was not. House appeared to be a flip not done well. Curtains in one of the bedrooms had holes in them, two bedrooms had no curtains just cheap mini blinds that didn’t block out the sun. Furniture was not well kept and some were broken. Foundation issues, the floors sloped to the front of the house. It felt like you were on a ship lilting to one side. I would not recommend this VRBO to anyone I know.

The house was fine for a couple of nights, but there are some things that bothered us. For one, the house is not level. Apparently, the foundation is sinking, and the house is actually on a slant, so you feel like you're on a cruise ship when you walk thru the house. Our suitcases kept rolling around, drawers open on their own, etc. There are holes in the chain link fence in the backyard, so I had to keep an eye on my dog when she was out there. The driveway was nearly impossible to see at night as there is no lighting outside except for the porch light. We arrived after dark and literally could not see the driveway. There is also no marking on the mailbox, so we had trouble finding the house in the dark. There are very steep brick steps leading from the kitchen to the backyard and to the 4th bedroom and both really need to have a handrail. My stepmom is elderly and nearly fell down these stairs a few times. There are also no hooks in either bathroom to hang up your towels. The clothes dryer also did not work, but we let the owner know.

This was a great location. Close to town and all the amenities. Quiet neighborhood.

We were happy to enjoy a house with 4 bedrooms while our new home was completed. This is a clean property with the necessary amenities. This was a convenient location for us all to get to work on time. It was so nice to be able to cook a meal as opposed to eating out every night, since dishes were provided. Having 2 bathrooms was a benefit with our family of 4. The fenced in back yard made it easy for letting out my dog, however, she did find her way to get into the neighbors' yard a couple of times. Having Roku tv's gave us plenty of options for relaxing after work for the adults and our 2 year old granddaughter. A couple of comforts could be added to improve the guests' experience: 1. Better living room furniture 2.Something to hang towels on in the bathrooms - perhaps an over the door rack 3. A television in each bedroom 4. Check the outdoor light in the front - it was flickering on and off for us.
