Perfect Weekend Getaway in Jim Thorpe

The property was true to the listing name - a perfect weekend getaway in Jim Thorpe. The location was great - walkable to the downtown area but remote enough to be quiet and relaxing. The second level deck and gazebo were great bonuses with beautiful views. The check-in process was simple and smooth, and the entire house was spotless. The linens were clean and fresh and everything was in working order. The owner was communicative before and during our stay, offering helpful suggestions for things to do in the area. We would absolutely stay here again and will recommend it to anyone looking to visit Jim Thorpe.

This rental is exactly as shown. Thank you again for sharing your property with us. Very relaxing and safe neighborhood, absolutely in walking distance to alot of main shops and eateries. Only thing was the weather rained one day and freezing cold next day. I was fine with watching a movie on netflix and cooking up something gd to eat. A few drinks helped also. We will be booking again in the early summer. Also on a weekend when more shops are open. Ty again Steve.

Steve was very welcoming and checked in by message during our stay to make sure everything was going well and to see if we needed anything. He gave us info on the area of happenings in the area and had info in the house. Excellent host!

This was a beautiful home, warm and comfortable.,very clean and within walking distance to town. We all enjoyed our stay, we are even thinking about reserving it for next year !! Stephen the host is a pleasure to speak to !!

The home as an easy walk to the busy area. We like hills. If you aren’t into exercise, find a place lower on the hill. It was good to be away from the crowds, yet close enough to walk. Don’t pass this historical home by because our stay here was wonderful. The beds were very comfortable, the wireless worked well, the home was clean. We had an included parking spot, too.

Very clean and comfortable. Within walking distance to restaurants, shops and the train station. You are walking down a hill to the main part of town and back up to the house. Nice gazebo out back up on a hill.

Surprisingly roomy, really nice place in a nice little town. Our host was very helpful and his response time was excellent.

This was our third time staying at this property and we tend to stay for 2 weeks. We love the old-fashioned fell of this property and the beautiful paintings throughout. check in was easy, the kitchen had most things needed to cook at the home. Wifi access was great and if you enjoy walking, the town had many fun things to do. Parking space at property.

Excellent rental, the property was immaculate and totally equipped kitchen and beautiful furniture with art on the walls. It was air-conditioned and centrally located to walk to all of my events in the town. I also enjoyed the quiet at night.

House is in perfect location! Close to everything, yet a small distance to add peace. Loved having our own parking spot, house of clean and comfortable.

Interesting old house. Nicely decorated. Close to town center. Quiet. Only bathroom is in upstairs area. Bedroom floor boards creaked loudly when walking as old wood floors are want to do. Overall a good experience and would recommend. Host was quick to respond and easy to work with.

Nice get-a-way with girlfriend...property was as described..distance from main attractions was a bit much but we choose to walk so great exercise...great places to eat and cute shops in downtown...would like to book next time when a show is in town!

Place was clean and just up the hill from downtown. We slept well in the King sized bed.

We loved the location, cleanliness, and comfort! If only the weather was better and we could have enjoyed the decks it would have been perfect. It was a short walk to the stores, restaurants, and train. We would definitely stay again.

Loved our stay here! House was prime location and the parking spot was perfect and easy to get and out of. The homeowner is very friendly, the house was clean and the artwork was all displayed beautifully. the views from the top deck were also amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed the front room and fireplace.

Our visit to Jim Thorpe to meet friends for a Christmas getaway was fabulous! Stephens property was a great place to stay!! Very clean & perfect for my husband & I !!!

It was a wonderful stay. I wish we knew a lot of the stores and other activities were only open Thursday Friday and Saturday. We made due. We were disappointed with the fact that not many of the homes along Main Street had declarations. But live and learn. The stay was nice. Loved the living room with the gas fireplace. Took the chill off immediately! Steve you should allow access to the basement… I know it’s not a good idea but I would have loved to see what it looked like!!! Weather permitting we would haves to stay outside too… it looked really cool and there was a deer in your backyard on Tuesday. Also and this is not something that we are critical about but the sink in kitchen would have been better centered in the window. Thanks for the stay.

Very easy directions to property. The host was great, he left detailed instructions for us and provided links to local site seeing and eateries, there was also information pamphlets at the property. Comfortable beds and furniture throughout the house. Very beautiful wooden floors and a scenic backyard that led up to a mountain, town view. The home was warm, plenty of hot water. Old home appeal. Large kitchen, all items on hand to cook meals. There was some old food left in fridge and cabinets. Coffee maker was old, but still brewed a nice hot pot. One bathroom for guests on 2nd level. TV only located downstairs in living room, it provided AppleTV. Very comfortable couches and cool looking gas fireplace, and artwork by the host. Windows do not open in property. Location was perfect, the walks to downtown was lovely. You see all the beautiful homes, pubs and shops. We went on Thanksgiving week, so lots of places were closed for 2 days. There is jazz in area, tasting rooms, trains and trollies for tours. I would recommend this host and his home. Very nice experience for my family.

Awesome location just a short walk down Broadway to all the shops and town square attractions. Cozy, clean and an amazing deck with great views both day and night. Steve is a great host, very easy to communicate with, right on top of it.

Before going our host asked if we had any questions and helped us with two we had. Our home was cozy and enviting. We enjoyed the backyard deck with a view, and the home like atmosphere. It was peaceful and quiet at night too. It was a little from town then we thought and so we drove to town instead. I guess walking is an option for younger people. The outside has two decks placed high up staircases at different heights. Very enjoyable and relaxing. We would definitely stay here again if we return to the area.

This was the perfect place for my friend and myself. I would highly recommend this property for a small group 2-4. The Things we liked most: We really appreciated the outdoor seating options. There were 4 options. We really liked the outback area at the top of the stairs. Furniture was clean and comfortable. We were up high and could enjoy the beautiful view. Parking spot and nearness to downtown Jim Thorpe. We parked our car and walked into town everyday. It was a nice walk - about a half mile. The host was very helpful and communicated all the information we needed to know ahead of time. I called him one time to ask a question and he called me back immediately. This should have been number 1. The beds were very comfortable. I've stayed at several VRBO and sometimes the beds are not comfortable. If I return to Jim Thorpe, I would try to rent this home again.

Loved the house and multiple outside seating areas. Well within walking distance to downtown Jim Thorpe for shopping and dining. The house had everything you would need for your visit. Linens, extra blankets, all appliances, WiFi, menus and brochures to help you decide what to do if you were unsure. Perhaps one of the best amenities was the off street parking for your vehicle! Super relaxing atmosphere. We will definitely be returning.

Great location, walk to everything in West Jim Thorpe. Loved the outdoor deck. Period furniture and art work was great.

The view from the tree house/porch outback is amazing! Its perfect for watching the sunrise.

We all enjoyed the home, especially the large and well-stocked kitchen, huge primary bedroom and elaborate back deck. The owner responded very quickly to our questions and offered early check-in. Check-out was a breeze. We had an excellent experience!
