The owner, Sue was friendly, helpful and kind. The house was a perfect delight with its antique decor and roominess! When I told Sue that my daughter was celebrating her birthday during our stay she made a beautful arrangement from the flowers she grew on the property which delighted all of us. The view from the deck and firepit were nothing less than spectacular. The location is close enough to both Lake Micigan, Mackinac island, Lake Superior and Taquenamon Falls. Wonderful! I would highly recommend this place to anyone who loves peace and quiet!
Very interesting house with lots of mounts and antiques. Plenty of room and right on the water with wonderful views. Owner lives next door and very nice and helpful.
Sue's property was in a great location to access all of the Eastern U.P. has to offer. The house was cozy and the fire pit and lake were a hit with our kids.
Everything is perfect...family vacation and this was a really great family gathering place.
location is great it is a good place to stay, will go back
We had such an amazing time at Sue's property. It was the perfect retreat for the whole family. We will be coming back next year for sure!
The home is beautiful and spectacularly decorated. There is plenty of room and the firepit is very close to the lake giving beautiful views. One thing to note, I don't know if the water level on the lake is low but the water was only knee deep at the end of the dock. My 18' Sea Ray I/O was sitting on the bottom. It would be better for an aluminum boat or smaller boat. The lady who hosts it was wonderful.
The cabin was clean and comfortable and our hostess Sue was very sweet and had good recommendations for places to visit and beaches to rockhound. She has many beautiful antiques and some that she has done a beautiful job restoring. The “animal family” ??inside was a little disconcerting at first, but we all got along just fine. Her Lily of the Valleys and Forget Me Nots around the cabin were beautiful! We were very lucky with great weather and beautiful sunsets. Would definitely stay there again.
We enjoyed our first trip to the UP. Sue is a wonderful hostess and gave us lots of local knowledge. The house was great and we’ll definitely be back.
The cabin is good has all the amenities need for a northern getaway. The only problem I had was with the property manager. When you contact her she doesn’t reply. I tried contacting her on the last day of our stay and never heard a word back. I had a snowmobile that was parked in front of the cabin that pretty sure was backed into by whoever they hire to plow snow. I just wanted to get in contact with them and and show them the damage. Ended up costing another $1300 to fix. And I still haven’t heard from the property manager.
The cabin was nice and my fiance liked the animals, but I was hoping we could have snowmobiled more. That is not the property owners fault that Mother Nature was uncooperative.
Awesome place we will be back.
Clean and cozy place. Right on the lake. Need to come back during the summer months!
My wife and I loved our stay!
We loved the Upper Peninsula of Michigan; and this lake view home was a great central location to all the tourists spots we wanted to see. Loved Mackinac Island, Picture Rock boat tour, Whitefish Point Lighthouse, Shipwreck Museum and the wonderful Tahquamenon Falls. The fireplace was most welcomed for the couple of chilly nights we spent there!
Property was awesome. Great location on lake. East side of Lake for beautiful views of the evening sunsets. Owner/Host, Sue, was kind and generous. Tough year fishing but that happens.
Sue is a lovely host and ensured our stay was everything we hoped for. The lake was a fun play space for our kiddo and had lots of fishing opportunities for dad. Kitchen had everything we needed and a couple things we forgot. It was a great launching point to lots of local attractions. We can’t wait to come back next year!
Everything about the house was wonderful and Sue was very accommodating. We’ll be back.
The property and the Host are GREAT! The listing does not do this property or the Host justice. Google and VRBO have the location off and directions are poor but the location and the home are perfect!
The cabin was nice.. A bit overdone with animal heads and animal bodies but did get used to them after a day or two! The cabins were too close for us .. The weather was not cooperative but nothing we can do about that
Great place for family and friends! Lots of room. Sue was an excellent host and made sure we hade everything we needed. Lots of parking. It has a dock for your boat, but you do share it with other renters. There is no beach as you get into the water from the dock and it is shallow. Overall I would recommend this VRBO!
We stayed 5 nights in mid July 2022. Loved the cabin, décor, and location. The owner lived on the property and she was genuinely kind, friendly, and helpful with everything. Thanks for letting our kids borrow the kayaks. You can walk way out into the lake and the kids loved it. We just wish we had more time to stay there!
Hard to write this review, as we are worried our special find won’t be available next summer. Bottom line, this property was exactly what we were hoping for, and Sue could not have been a better host. The house was clean and comfortable. The lake was fantastic. The town of Curtis is a great little waterside village to go to at night. Cell reception can be spotty, but that was not an issue for us as we wanted to recharge our own batteries. We are looking forward to next summer already!
This property had a very homey feel and Sue was an excellent host. She answered questions and was near to meet our needs. We were close to all 4th of July celebrations and our family gathering
We had an awesome time, Sue was the best hostess. Very sweet and nice!
The host, Sue, and her little dog, Max, live next door. She greeted us at check in and touched base periodically to make sure we were enjoying our stay. The cabin has a charming decor of antiques and animals, a cozy fireplace, and beautiful views of sunsets over the lake. Indoors, there is ample table space to eat, play games, and work on a puzzle. Outdoors, there is a nice deck, gazebo, fire pit, and dock. The location is remote and local grocery shopping is limited. However, Curtis is within a 60- 90 min drive to Pictured Rock, Whitefish Point, the Soo Locks , and Tahquamenon Falls. We recommend having a pasty, visiting the Oswald Bear Ranch, Kyaaking with Northern, Waters, bringing your water shoes to explore the lower falls, and dining at the Chamberlin Inn. FYI: Mosquito spray is needed in June.
