Pagoda @ Culburra - Pet Friendly - Newly Renovated

I wasn’t going to leave a review, but this morning I received two messages from the host saying that if I leave a 5 star review, I will get 50. This to me seems super disingenuous and unfair to future guests who are being lied to. Our *honest* review on this stay is that it was 3/5. The house was clean (5/5 there), however ammenities were flimsy and cheap (all Kmart brand) which made using them hard. There were no scissors, knives were too blunt to use, plates so cheap they were paper thin and see through. It is clear this house was designed for aesthetics over practicality, and is not one actually lived in by the hosts. Further more two important things to note is 1) the second bedroom is completely seperate to the house and actually in the garage. If you were planning to travel with kids, be aware you will be in two seperate areas (main house and garage, with two seperate entry ways / doors). 2) while there is a fenced in backyard, this doesn’t connect to the house (there is no door in the house leading to a secure outside area). If you have your dog and want to have them inside and outside, or leave the door open for them while your inside, there’s no way to secure them, and they can easily walk onto the road or wander off.

Great property. Close to the shops and beach. Great yard for dogs. Pagoda was the perfect place for a little get away.

Well-maintained property, furnished to a high standard with everything you need. Separate annex for second bedroom and bathroom good for privacy. Great outdoor space at front of property with pagoda, dining area and BBQ and secure garden at rear of property for dogs. Great location on quiet and private street in walking distance to shops, restaurants and beach. Good base for exploring.

Walking distance to shops and beach. The house is small. Could do with extra kitchen utensils and appliances such as a stick vac, silicone spatulas, microwave dishes with lids, an electric frypan and a large pot with a lid. Needs a deep clean, especially the lounge, rug, carpets and windows. Would be nice to have small additions such as firewood and ice in the freezer neither of which was on hand when we arrived. Overall though, a good location. Quiet. Bed is comfy. Netflix was a welcome inclusion. Wifi is terrible but I believe that's the area, not specific to this dwelling.

Clean, comfortable and relaxing space. Perfectly equipped with everything we needed, very secure and big back yard for our Lab Harry. We had a wonderful stay and would love to come back again one day.

Close to local shops and restaurants. Newly and nicely renovated. Nice pagoda in the front yard for relaxing. Second bedroom is seperate in renovated garage, which could make it convenient for couples wanting some privacy as it is physically seperate from the main house. Dog friendly is a plus, but there are gaps under the house in the rear yard that small dogs (we have dachshund) could escape which was a bit disappointing. Overall a nice house.
