We loved our cozy stay everything was clean and tidy, and we had everything that we needed

Lovely, peaceful space, plenty of room, beautiful view.

We needed a home for overnight because of a wedding. Home was immaculate and quiet.

This home was wonderful. Very comfortable and homey. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen stocked with everything you need to cook whatever you wanted. I wish our stay could have been longer so we could spend more time sitting on deck and enjoying the views. Will definitely plan on staying again. Check in was so easy.

Was only a one night stay, very easy to find, set up to cook dinner. All utensils needed were easy to fine, pots and pans, dishes and grill.Beds are comfortable and sitting areas were as well.

Beautiful place on the water. It’s very quiet. We really enjoyed sitting in front of the fireplace when the weather was cool. We are hoping to return someday.

We loved our stay. The cottage was perfect everything we expected. The host was quick to respond with just a few questions about arriving early. We plan on visiting again next year. Definitely will recommend to our friends and family.

Best cottage we stayed in so far in Maine! The house was very spacious, conveniently located near local places, and the owners were very hospitable and helpful.

The property was as advertised. Though we only stayed one night, we enjoyed the peaceful evening and morning, and enjoyed taking the kayak/paddle board out on the lake.House was very clean and the owner was very responsive to our questions both before booking and during our stay.

Exactly what we needed, great space, loved using the paddle board and kayak. Would recommend a lock for the bathroom and another TV in the bedroom.

Perfection!!! What an incredibly gorgeous place and the location is beautiful.

Love the place and hope to stay again. Short walk down to the lake where it’s easy to swim out to a floating dock. Love the lake. Various beach chairs, as well as kayak, SUP in the basement. Appreciated the mosquito repellent that was provided! Had everything we needed for our short stay.

My family and I stayed here visiting relatives in Jefferson. Absolutely gorgeous location in the woods, and a wonderfully designed home & interior that my mom couldn’t stop commenting on. We would love to come back another time for a longer visit.

The most beautiful spot! And the house was absolutely adorable it was the perfect fit for us and friends we had over for a cook out. The sunset in the evening was just the perfect end of the day. Everything we needed was there and we all had a wonderful time. Thank you so much for sharing your house with us. 5 stars all around! Thank you thank you!!!

This a gem of a place. Quiet, cozy spots, beautiful proximity to the lake. We really enjoyed our night, and were sorry we did not have a longer stay.

Had a huge job nearby, needed a place for 2 employees owners of company and 3 large trucjs to stay the night. Perfection!

We usually rent right near our relatives closer to Newcastle, but there was a problem with heat in property so we needed a new rental to move into and “Otterly getaway” was willing to rent to us the day before they technically were available which was good for us. The kitchen of the getaway is just perfect for cooking side dishes for our large family Thanksgiving that was just about 20 minutes a way. We slept in the king bed and it was excellent sleeping. The heating system kept us also very cozy. Laundry was very helpful. Looking at other reviews, we tried the water and it is best to buy bottled water. There is not a lot of water pressure for showers. Not necessarily a complaint since we needed down time from our jobs, but the wifi did not work for us. We would definitely stay again in

Everything as advertised and up to expectations. Our only gripe is the Internet service was sub-par and cell service was lean. No worries though. All else qas grwat.

We loved our stay at the Otter Getaway. Enough room for all five of us to spread out and enjoy the beautiful views of the lake. Kitchen was amazing and the tv/dining room was a cool, added bonus. Will definitely be booking again!

Our stay at Otter Getaway was a little slice of heaven! We have rented several different 'camps' on Damariscotta Lake over the years and this one is at the top for amenities at it's price point. It is not directly on the lake but we did bring a boat and it worked well for us (it's in a type of 'cove', the creation of which you can read about at Moody's Diner). It is located about in the middle of the long lake and allowed easy access to whichever direction my fishing family wanted to go! Not being directly on the lake actually cut down on the noise of boat traffic. The home has undergone a remodel recently and all the updates are simply lovely. Sleeping for 5 adults was very comfortable. I took a photo of the tag on the king mattress as I'm seriously considering getting one! We took full advantage of the deck for meals, together time and stargazing! Remember to look up!! Beautiful. We also truly enjoyed the fire pit...one of the safest, most contained 'pits' we've enjoyed. Another prime spot for stargazing! Mosquitoes have been an issue at other locations we've rented but were minimal here...and it helps to remember they are mostly out at dusk...it's a matter of outlasting them. Once it's truly dark and prime stargazing hour the bugs are gone. Having a dryer in the cottage was ideal for drying wet towels each day. The only negative we could think of is the water. Very rusty. We purchased bottled water as soon as we could.

Great time great camp

Otter Getaway was more than what we anticipated. The house and landscape were impressive complete with very “sweet” details. Having use of the kayak and paddle board made our mini vacation even more memorable.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Calyn's newly renovated home! The house was spotlessly clean, beautifully quaint, and just steps away from the serene lake. The neighborhood is quiet, making it the perfect spot for a peaceful family vacation. The lake is truly breathtaking and served as an idyllic setting for all our summer activities. Calyn was an amazingly hospitable and flexible host, making sure we had everything we needed and accommodating our requests with ease. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. We are already looking forward to our next stay at Calyn's house. Highly recommend!

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this rental. We found the host was prompt to respond to inquiries we made. The cottage was clean & well equipped. Bed was comfortable. However, it wasn’t a preferred location for us. And, it required driving down a road that had a stretch of substantial pot holes. The view of the lake from the cottage was very limited and, accessing the lake did not work for us. Although kayaks were available, we are not kayakers. But, we do canoe and, would probably look at renting a canoe if in those same circumstances again. We have been visiting the Damariscotta area annually for 20 years and, usually stay in West Neck area on Lake Damariscotta where my husband has family. It was nice to explore a new area that we were not very familiar with. I would certainly recommend “Otter Getaway”.
