Old World Charm in The Heart of Temescal

We left the second night of a 6 night booking. The host was definitely on site, and lives in the lower level unit. He met for access and questioned me for ten minutes. He asked questions about employment, vaccine status, and background information I am not comfortable sharing with a stranger. It took him 1/2 hour to finish the interview, and walk through the property before handing over the keys. This is not a 3 boardroom. This is a one bedroom with pull outs in the dining room, and living room. The host using it for storage as well. Abandoned TV,s and computer monitors take up all table space. The property is next door to a fire station. Sirens through the one night we stayed. The host called at 10:30 the second night, after all were in bed. When I didn't answer, he began texting. Assuming there must be an emergency, I text back. He said he knew I was up because he could hear me walking around. He wanted to talk and show me some pictures. I asked if it could wait until the next day as it was late. He said he just wanted to talk. This is not privacy. The host is very much present, and has no reservations about exercising his perceived authority. We left around 11:00 PM and booked a hotel. The host followed my out the door. I called Vrbo to explain what happened. They told me the host has the right to call anytime for any reason, They would not refund the booking. This is a great neighborhood, but this place is not worth the premium and the stress.

Wonderful location! Owner was very nice and accommodating. I would stay again if travel presents opportunity.

We had a great time here. Plenty of space an an easy walk to anything you want in Temescal. Would stay again.

The place was neat, clean, nicely located near many eateries in walking distance. I wish the AC worked better because it couldn't even cool one room well and the master room bed needs better pillows because they are pretty flat which makes the sleeping experience a bit of an issue if you like your pillows firm and thick. Other than that it was a pretty above average experience.

Host was extremely responsive and went way out of his way to return items we left in the unit! Can't thank him enough!

Great place! Awesome location near bars and restaurants - location can't be beat. Good comfortable bedroom. Though the extra rooms can be used as a bedrooms, I'd limit guest count to 2 or 4. Overall lovely place and owner was really responsive and nice, including when we accidentally locked ourselves out!
