Stayed Aug 3, 2025The Old Kinderhook Castle is a breathtaking blend of luxury, space, and charm — the perfect getaway for a large family looking to make unforgettable memories at the Lake of the Ozarks. We had five families, 11 grandchildren, and still plenty of room for everyone. The stunning Old Castle/Winery theme, huge stone fireplace, lake views, and décor evoking a Middle Ages castle made it truly special. The master suite was pure luxury with a walk-in shower, jacuzzi tub, his-and-hers basins, and a wine bar.Spacious gathering areas and multiple kitchens made meals and games easy, while an indoor gymnasium with basketball hoop and modern media room kept kids and adults entertained. Through the gated Old Kinderhook community, we enjoyed golf, pickleball, swimming, and a gym. A nearby dock made for an unforgettable boating day on the Lake of the Ozarks. The location was ideal — just minutes from Camdenton for restaurants, groceries, and fuel. Best of all, the owner and property manager were outstanding in their communication and responsiveness, making our stay seamless. Highly recommend this property for large family gatherings — we’re already planning our return!

Stayed Jul 20, 2025It was a wonderful home for our 6 day family vacation. 10 adults. 8 grandkids. There were enough bedrooms with queen beds. And 4 of the grandkids loved the bunk room. The master suite was amazing. The gym was great for Amy and all ball games. The pool/air hockey table was used as was the acade machine. We didn't think we'd need the theatre room, but it was great for keeping the kids occupied between activities. And the conference room was used nightly for card and board games. The kitchen served as the center for all the meals. The ice machine was a huge asset. Maureen had extra fold out tables and nice chairs to accommodate the 18 of us for meals. The pools were just a short drive down the hill and were used often. We had a photographer come for family photo shoot. So many places on property to take the pictures. Maureen was attentive to any small issues. The communication was ongoing during the visit.

Stayed Jul 16, 2025The home was very spacious. There were 15 of us and it worked out perfectly. There was a lot to do for the teenagers. The seating area could have used more seats. The dining room chairs were horrible. You sank down in them when you sat down and one chair had a wobbly leg and someone almost fell. They all need replaced. The split air conditioner dripped all night and i called the property manager to let her know it needed fixed and never received a reply. We couldn't use it anymore and it was really hot outside. Also the description of the house said it had a pool. It doesn't have a pool on the property. You have access to a pool in the neighborhood. I thought i was booking a house with a private pool as there were 15 of us. It should have said pool access.

Stayed Jun 14, 2025Large custom home. Our family of 12 adults & 4 children had plenty of room to gather. Large kitchen for meal prep. Basketball court in bottom floor offered great indoor fun. Owner was very responsive & access was easy. Pool is within driving distance in gated community and small. Ha Ha Tonka Park is very close & quite nice. Home was in need of a more thorough cleaning. A/c in theater room did not work & master jacuzzi did not work.

Stayed Jun 21, 2025We are a family of 19, ranging in age from 13 to 80, and we all had a grand time. The house is very unique and sits atop a hill. The kitchen is well-equipped, you just have to provide the food. There is also a wok and an outdoor bbq. Hiking, fishing, tubing, jet skis, cave exploring...our group did it all in spite of the incredibly hot and humid weather. The youngsters enjoyed the indoor basketball court. There is an indoor elevator available for use by handicapped or mobility challenged only, but there is no wheelchair ramp or lift. Maureen, the owner of the property, was super responsive and accommodating when we had questions or problems. We made memories that will last a lifetime.

Stayed Nov 27, 2024Our stay at the castle was truly amazing. There was so much to do in the home. Our goal was to spend as much time with family without also going crazy, and the amount of space and things to do allowed that to happen. Maureen was very quick to respond when we had questions about anything. The kitchen upstairs and downstairs was nice because it was enough space and ovens to cook food. There were 3 garbage cans in the garage which was needed after our event so that was helpful. The kids got to experience the Christmas Village hay ride and elf reading, and they also went fishing. The only very minor complaints was that the floors in the living room and upstairs bedroom (where the tile was) were cold this time of year, so bring your slippers. There were space heaters provided though. If you are staying more than a couple nights, bring your own shampoo/body wash. There is some provided, it was just small bottles. Overall we are very happy with our stay; and the fact that we could use it as our wedding venue for an additional $1000 fee was so helpful and made our day special.

Stayed Nov 7, 2024Very fun house with little surprise features decoration everywhere. Our large family gathered there and most of us stayed there for a long weekend. It was perfect for the occasion. The view is stunning as well. The host was very accommodating and even allowed us early check-in because there was no one staying there the night before. This allowed us to set up some of our party preparations in time for the evening.

Stayed Sep 12, 2024The house was amazing! The views were incredible and you could really tell that the owners thought about everything you could need to get the most out of your stay. We rented this for our annual golf trip and this has been the best house yet!

Stayed May 24, 2024The castle built up quite the anticipation with the kiddos and did not disappoint. Great way to spread out our friend group, plenty of space for activities, big kitchen space, and magical memories.
