If you are looking to stay right on the beach, the Charleston Oceanfront Villas is impossible to beat. There is nothing between you and the ocean. The views are incredible, and the direct beach access is the best on Folly Island. The condo is nice, spacious, and comfortable. You are paying for the proximity to the beach, but you ought to know that up front. Folly does not have major hotel chains or resorts, but it has ample unique local restaurants and shops, and all of them are an easy walk from here, just a couple of short blocks. This particular unit is on the first floor, which is actually the second floor, above the ground-level parking deck. The unit was clean, and the kitchen is stocked with sufficient appliances, dishes, and utensils, if you want to do your own food. The owners also provide a storage closet with a few beach items (chairs, umbrellas, sand toys, etc), which is a kind gesture. I am not sure there is a great difference between individual units, but there was certainly nothing wrong with this unit during our stay. Do be aware that there is a magnetic key fob required to enter or, yes, exit through the gates to get to the beach, and each unit only has one fob. That is mildly irritating if your entire party doesn't go everywhere at the same time. Overall, these are great condos, we enjoyed this specific unit and host, and the proximity to everything is worth the upcharge.

Don't hesitate to book this condo. It was clean and well equipped. The location was perfect. The balcony was our favorite as we all, 8 of us, comfortably hung out and enjoyed the views and sounds of the ocean. We people and dog watched. There are restaurants, shops, bars, and ice cream shops across the street. Even though there is a nightlife so close by you don't hear the action going on. Parking is convenient and carts provided to bring up belongings to the condo, and an elevator to make things very easy.

We received the wrong code to open the door and was stuck outside for an hour in 100 degree heat, the fridge wasn't cooling properly and after not hearing back from the property manager my husband fixed it. The condo was not very clean upon checking in with cob webs over several lamps. The location is amazing and we liked the pools a lot. The condo could be much nicer for the rate they charge but it was adequate. Will definitely visit Folly again!

Overall, it was a great stay! Worst part is working with a management team, instead of the owner! The E-lock code given to us to get into the condo didn’t work! The customer service number was like in Oregon for our place in Folly Beach, SC. They changed the code electronically over the phone twice and it still didn’t work. I was cut off twice and had to call back. We waited outside for over an hour with all our luggage on the front porch. Finally, I called again and got someone who could give me a code to the master lockbox to get an actual physical key to the unit. We still didn’t have a way for everyone to get in without using one key for six people until late afternoon the next day, which is not acceptable. When someone local finally did come, he was not told of all the issues. He was only told about the kitchen clock not working. Luckily, we were there at the time he arrived and told him about the e-lock not working, which was the most important thing. He told us there were issues with the locks and the company knew it. So the local maintenance man is the one who gave us HIS code to get into the unit for the rest of the vacation.The condo could use some TLC. It seems they are doing some renovations. The mattresses need to be changed out. There is some mold in the master suite. There just needs to be a lot more attention to detail. We also had to walk through a puddle of water 3 of 5 days to get in the front door because water had drained there….ran out of space

We stayed in July of 24 with our extended family and had a great time. Folly is a little beach bum town in the best way. There were no crowds at restaurants and no party scenes like other beach towns we’ve been to. The condo itself was exactly what we needed for our group. The pool is very underwhelming, which is what made me realize this is a beach lover’s town. It wasn’t an issue, but an adjustment for our kids who prefer the pool. The freezer does not have an ice maker (only 2 ice trays) which was not ideal for taking coolers to the beach, which was our groups biggest issue. Overall, great unit and wonderful town with just what you need!

Oceanfront Villas is our go to place for summer vacations! This unit was very clean. Lovely view. We enjoyed being on the first floor this year. Will definitely be staying here again.

Great location, ocean is out the patio. The place was clean and decorated nicely. All the necessities were there, plus some. Easy walk to restaurants and stores. Short drive into Charleston for sightseeing. Not owners issue but they were making beach so 24x7 bulldozer work. Noise not bad while sleeping. Next time bigger beach.

This was a great property. We really enjoyed our stay. The only issue was with the maintenance. The slider door handle broke on the first day. I reported it and the person who was coming to fix the vent in the master bath fixed the door handle. The vent was the wrong size. A couple of days later the handle totally broke off. I reported it and they said they would put in for it to be fixed. We never saw another maintenance person for the remainder of the stay. So we had no door handle which made it difficult to open the door to get on the balcony and also there was a big hole in the bathroom ceiling our entire stay. Other than that we loved it.
