Admire spectacular views of Mt. Desert Narrows from nearly every room of this oceanfront cottage, peacefully situated in a wooded grove on Brooklin's scenic shores. This is what coastal living in Maine is all about - sipping your coffee on the screened porch at sunrise and watching the passing sailboats from your deck in the afternoon.

This single-story, oceanfront home sits five miles north of small-town Brooklin. The house itself is private and independent, but it is also part of alarger family compound with a common road (and the homeowner living next door). Hike the Hundred Acre Wood Trail just down the street, head out to Deer Isle for a quiet day of exploring (eight miles south), and take unforgettable excursions to Acadia National Park (37 miles).

The cottage is a showcase of its surroundings, from the path that leads through the trees to the ocean shore to the glass doors and windows that frame the view at every turn. After a day spent hiking, kayaking, sailing, or driving the Midcoast, come home to light the gas grill, share stories on the back deck, and dine outside in the fresh ocean air.

Inside, the light-filled living space is accented by an open floor plan and beautiful details of natural wood. Whether you're utilizing the stainless steel kitchen appliances to prepare dinner, playing board games at the dining room table, or streaming movies in the living room, you'll do it all with a panoramic view of the water. Come nightfall, rest assured that everyone will sleep soundly amidst the plush bedding available in each of the bedrooms.

What an amazing house and scenery. Very clean and the amenities, including the bath towels were fantastic. Tucked away but easy to get to town. Cannot wait to go back.

This was one of the best rentals we have stayed in for our family vacation. We enjoyed climbing on the rocks, exploring the coast, the location (close enough to Acadia), and the small town down the road. This place was incredibly cozy, clean, and inviting. The views of the water were spectacular!

We loved the view and the amount of bedrooms. It was clean and had an adequate kitchen for our stay. We loved that it had access to the bay and the screened in porch. Shrubs blocked the view from the screened area, unfortunately. It was a lovely location easily driveable to Acadia and Bar Harbor but was quiet and out of the way. We definitely recommend it.

A great place if you’re looking for quiet and solitude on the Blue hill peninsula. Views are excellent and it’s an easy 15-20 minute drive to Deer Island and 50 to Acadia. Not a huge number of restaurants in the area - ie within a 20 minute drive, but plenty for a week’s worth of dinners….but then again, depends on your palatte. Description and pictures were accurate. Overall great place.

This is a beautiful modern rustic home with an absolutely gorgeous view of the bay. It is the most tranquil place, yet not too far from Blue Hill to shop and have dinner. I would definitely return!

We stayed over 2 weeks in this beautiful place and enjoyed the views and peaceful surroundings. Loved watching the lobster fishing boats with their catch; sitting along the waters edge on picnic rock timing the daily tides; and even saw Northern Lights skip across the sky one night. This was a dream vacation spot for us. Acadia and Bar Harbor were only a short 1 hour drive. Blue Hill was very close with most any amenity you need from a large grocery store to a Dunkin Donuts and many small businesses in between. The house was very clean upon arrival. The living space was a bit smaller than expected and the seating was not conducive to lounging to watch TV at night, but the beds were extremely comfortable. The 4 stars come from the interaction with Vacasa. Unfortunately we had a troublesome maintenance issue that lasted 6 of our 16 days. We contacted the Vacasa number multiple days and felt like we were not taken seriously that there was an issue. The response and follow up communication was non-existent. The issue eventually went away, so someone must have fixed it, but we never heard anything before, during or after. We are giving this a 4 because of the poor communication from Vacasa, but would definitely return to the house.

Arrived to a clean, well decorated cottage. Smaller than expected for four adults. The view made up for any shortcomings. A small screened in porch, a deck, large flat granite rocks, the outside seating options are numerous. Best part of our day, coffee on the deck watching lobster boats, hearing loons, marveling at the sunrise. Be aware the use of the fireplace is prohibited. Would have been great on a rainy day. Location is good with proximity to Ellsworth for groceries, Bucklyn coffee in Blue Hill. Brooklin Country Store for breakfast sandwiches and baked goods, annd other surrounding areas. Again, while a bit tight in the living room and kitchen, the view and outside area made this a strong option for a repeat visit.

The cabin was perfect for us. Two couples who enjoy traveling together found this to be a perfect spot to enjoy Maine. Amenities and location were a plus. Bar Harbor, quaint little towns, Acadia National Park were on our list to visit. The sunrise was spectacular and the moon glistening on the water was awe inspiring. My only regret was we had to check out! We could have stayed longer, so there will be a next time!

Beautiful views. We saw eagles, seals and a crab boat checking his pots. We drove to bar harbor several times with plenty of sea food places along the way. There was 5 of us and we had lots of room to relax.
