This house is a great find in Pahoa, a lovely and quaint town. It has all the amenities of your home and a stunning view from the lanai. The sound of the waves lapping against the rocks is divine.

This home was better than we could have imagined as our base to explore the east side of the island. The view, the pool, the sound of the waves crashing - it was all amazing! The house was clean, well stocked and comfortable with plenty of space for our family of four. Highly recommend!

This is a beautiful clean home with an amazing view of the ocean! The pool is clean and refreshing! No AC but not needed with the amount of doors and windows leading to the ocean. We throughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return to this home!

Everything was great! The house is clean, has everything needed for a wonderful get-away, and is in a quiet neighborhood, the perfect place for my parents to use as a base while they explored the island. Sunrises were amazing, the pool was nice after a full day exploring--I had only good stories from their anniversary trip to the big island!

Property is as shown on VRBO, great location, nice neighborhood and easy access to sites on this side of island. Hurricane north of us added high winds, swells and rain; made for a great couple of nights watching the weather.

Home was completely perfect with all the amenities necassaru to make our trip complete.

What an incredible stay in an absolutely beautiful area! Cannot wait to come back to enjoy the relaxation and stunning views. Coffee on the lanai with the sunrise, falling asleep to soothing crashing of the waves, and watching sea turtles right from the property backyard were some of our highlights during our stay.

Excellent property right on the ocean with its own pool. Plenty of room for a large family (we had 5 and it could sleep plenty more). Would definitely stay again and hope to be able to do so in future.

Beautiful home, at a beautiful location. My wife and I loved that there were games to play with our daughter like Monopoly, Uno etc. The pool was amazing, the views were breathtaking.

Loved it !!! Great location. Beautiful, spacious and clean !!! Fantastic views and the sound of crashing waves was amazing. The pool was the grandkids' favorite thing to do in Hawaii. The kitchen was huge and the check-in was very easy. We hope to come back someday. And the mystery is solved. I thought the house looked familiar. After I got home, I found a picture of the same house with the pool. We had stayed there in 2009 !!!

The view was breathtaking, it was well stocked and our hosted was easy to communicate with.Only improvement would be that the check out process was a bit excessive; stripping the beds, sweeping the floors and emptying the dishwasher, considering a cleaning fee was applied.

We love staying at this home. We have stayed at this home both times we traveled to the Big Island. It has an incredible view and is always well maintained. Jennifer was in contact with us before and during our stay to make certain we had everything we needed. The home is located in a quieter area near the town of Pahoa. It makes it even more enjoyable being less busy and able to enjoy the coastline from this quiet neighborhood. I would highly recommend staying at this home when visiting the Big Island especially while on the East side.

We rented the house for just our family bc we liked that the house had a pool. The house is very large and spacious, everyone had own bed.It is in a good location to get to Volcano national park, Hilo and Mauna Kea.The views from the house ar amazing!Thank you for letting us enjoy it!

This home near Hilo was the perfect place for our Big Island getaway. The house was spotless and beautifully designed, with plenty of space for everyone—my brother, his wife, and two adult kids stayed in the downstairs suite, while I enjoyed the upstairs. We spent hours on the patios just watching the waves crash against the rocks and spotting sea turtles in the surf. The pool was a daily favorite for us all. We spent a day at Volcano National Park and explored some local spots, including Rainbow Falls, the Boiling Pots, Richardson’s Beach, and Coconut Island. One day, we drove across Saddle Road to the Waikoloa side, swam and snorkeled at Hapuna Beach, and took the scenic Hamakua Coast on the way back. The kitchen was well-equipped, so we made most of our meals at home, but we did have some restaurant meals. One night we ordered Popeyes through DoorDash and had a fun Netflix movie night. We also appreciated the use of the beach equipment, cooler, books, and games. This was such a peaceful, relaxing stay—can’t wait to come back!

Beautiful place, but they expect a a lot of clean up for 500 a night and huge cleaning fee

We had an amazing stay with our kids (11 and 14) and my parents. The house was perfect and it worked out great to have my parents in the upstairs bedroom and us and the kids downstairs. Everything was clean, comfortable, and well equipped. There’s a great market about 10 minutes away that suited our needs well, a little park just down the road where we could kick a soccer ball around, great running along the Oceanside, well positioned for several day trips, and starting and ending the day right on the ocean couldn’t be better. We loved our stay and hated to leave.

The area was beautiful and felt very safe! The house was very clean and beautiful. We found everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. We loved listening to the waves while we fell asleep. So relaxing.Everything went very smooth from check in to check out. We would definitely stay here again.to check out.

Great, but financially was not clear.

This house was amazing couldn’t ask for anything more. Love, love loved it. Plenty of room in different areas so people could have their own space. The pool was awesome.

This house was a wonderful place to stay. There was no air-conditioning in this place but it was not needed. The wind coming off the sea was sufficient to cool the house and sometimes at night it was cold. The sounds of the waves crashing against the cliffs was the best white noise to fall asleep or read your favorite book. The place is stocked with the tools you need to cook with. The neighbors are quiet and friendly. The place is conveniently located close to the Volcano National Park so you can vist the Volcano. We did get to see the eruption during our stay. Several hiking trails beaches located near by. Kona is about two hours away but is worth the drive for the beautiful scenery. Mauna Loa is beautiful. The owners are very nice and are easy to reach if you have questions. Don't feed the chickens! Lol

Very peaceful, beautiful home.We saw at least 15 whales on Day one from the living-room windows and several more throughout the trip. Perfect whale-watching venue.Easy to get to the Volcano Natl Park from here as well.

I would rate it a 4.5 . Front windows towards the ocean have a heavy film on them and view is not clear. Pool was cold. A few bugs but you get that in most warm climates. If those were improved I would give it a 5. But the real question is would we stay there again, yes would definitely stay there again. Great location and views right on the ocean and it actually has 4 bedrooms.

It was amazing to wake up to this beautiful view and listen to the waves crashing along the lava wall. It is so relaxing. We had the best time here and can't wait to come back. The owner and housecleaner were extremely nice! Thank you so much for opening up your home for us to experience hawaii in an amazing home. Close to stores, volcano, beach, ziplining and much more! The main floor is open and airy. With lanai doors open and windows it is very comfortable with the ocean breeze.

This is our third stay in this house. The house is immaculate and the views are next to none. The waves splashing on the lava banks are fantastic and the sound is so soothing. The location is close to Pahoa with great restaurants, grocery and drug stores. I will be back!

This was a Girl’s Trip with childhood friends. The home was well appointed, very clean, and amazingly relaxing! The views were fabulous and the pool was very inviting. I’m sure we will be back again!

Our Ohana does at least 3 Staycations a year and this is one of the more calm, welcoming relaxing homes we’ve stayed at. Can’t beat being right on the ocean. Will put it on our list of VRBO favorites, and definitely rent again.

Great location for exploring East and Southern Hawaii. Super relaxing home with the sound of waves against the shoreline. Views were super and the house was great with areas for sun bathing at the pool.

Our family (2 adults, 1 older child, 2 younger children) stayed at Ka hale ma kahakai for 2 weeks in Aug 2024 and were not disappointed. When we first walked in, the expansive view was unbelievable and the house was impressive. The house was very clean, spacious, well stocked, nice appliances, great showers and very comfortable beds. We didn't use TVs but Wifi seemed good strength for all our devices. Washer/dryer were new and worked well. Pool and yard were a great addition. Pool wasn't big enough to do lengths, but was great for a swim on hot days to cool down. Lots of patio furniture on lanais and by pool to relax outside. The neighbourhood felt safe and neighbours seemed friendly. Although there is no A/C, and was warm in day, the fans and trade winds did make the house cool at night. However, because of this, the house did stay humid so you have to be prepared for always feeling damp...but I think that is the norm in Hawaii. As for location, we were there for an multi-day event in Hilo and we did find the drive in rush hour to be very busy from about 6:30am-8:30am, and then again on return from 3-6pm. It sometimes took over an hour. I may not have been completely prepared for that. It is a single lane road for the most part, and there aren't many bypass roads. As well, even though there is a Malama Market in Pahoa, it is quite costly so we found shopping best in Hilo. This would be the only downfall.

The house and pool are amazing. We found the house more spacious than photos. Well equipped. Great house to hang and relax. It is in a neighborhood not resort area so plan to spend time driving for restaurants and activities.

The house is much bigger than you would expect from the pictures. We had 6 “adults” - which was me and my husband, and our 18 & 20 year old children and their significant others. The lower level was perfect for the kids, with direct access to the pool and their own living room. The master has spectacular views on the 1st floor. Location is a bit more remote, but it served as a good base to head south, north or west. If you stay here and you need to feed a lot of peopl, a drive over to Costco in Kona would be a good idea as the local grocery stores are high in price (in alignment with the rest of the islands). Would stay here again.

Beautiful Location, amazing view of the Sea, big&clean house, lovely pool. The house is well equipped and we enjoyed every minute!
