Loved the location

My family and friends enjoyed our stay together. The location is very good, the house is clean and beds are comfortable. The bathrooms are very small and need updating. Water pressure is excellent! Parking is perfect, TV’s in every room, AC keeps it cool. My disappointments were, no soap in baths or kitchen. The beach walkway doesn’t go all the way to the beach and the sea grass and weeds, etc is all grown up and hard to walk through especially with kids, beach chairs, bags and etc. .

Bathrooms had excessive mold and spent 2 hours cleaning when we arrived. Listing should have showed the very outdated bathrooms. AC vents only in main room and none in the 4 bedrooms. House was dirty! Floors had not been mopped and qe have the dirty socks to prove it . And we found a cockroach. Shower curtain covered in mold. Kitchen was not clean. For the rental price we were extremely disappointed. Listing needs to show pictures of bathrooms. We did not use the bathroom that had a shower due to being unable to get all of the mold cleaned off. AC vent in the livingroom was nasty sticky dirty. We cleaned it and left the house in much better condition than we found it. Will never stay here again. Please update the listing to be transparent and fair to other families that are considering this house. Also show ALL reviews instead of just the 2 that expand over 2 years that were 5 stars. Very misleading WeAnd

We really loved this house! My wife and our four children ranging in ages from 3 - 9 years old came down the for the long holiday weekend and had a great time. It was very clean, it was updated and being ocean front was so nice. We spent most of our time outside on the wonderful deck that overlooks the water. When we weren't on the beach we would relax on the deck and our children played quite a bit underneath the house. Overall the house is not large but the bedrooms were plenty big and our family of 6 was very comfortable. The close proximity to the beach made it easy to bring all of our chairs, coolers and beach toys. Most of all I will miss sitting outside on the deck, eating our meals, relaxing, enjoying a beverage and spending time with the family. I do recommend this house.

We really enjoyed our stay in Life is But a Dream. Loved having a private boardwalk to the beach and we used the deck every single day - even when it was storming! The property is perfect for families. It was functional and tidy. An outdoor shower and full-sized laundry were appreciated! Ocean Isle is a cute place. They have several good restaurants, a huge playground area and amphitheater for live music, shops, a fishing pier and of course lots and lots of room at the beach!

The house and all amenities were perfect. The Oceanfront view was beautiful. Great location.

Love the overall atmosphere of this house. It’s an older semi-renovated cottage with a great beachy feel. We absolutely loved the deck and the convenience to the beach. My husband and i have four young children, and the location was second to none. However, there are two Nest pre-programmed thermostats that worked against each other the entirety of our stay, meaning every 2ish hours we had to reset them to override what was already programmed. This wouldn’t be a big deal in a regularly insulated house, but this one appeared to have no insulation in ceiling of the main area as you could see the roofing nails that had been painted over. This includes getting up during the night to turn the heat on over, and over. It was cool at night the week we went (40’s)at one point during the night when i got up to turn the heat on yet again, (i turned it to 68), the blast of heat set the fire alarm in our room off waking up the house. The Wi-Fi and television were out for half of our stay, and there was no phone service in the house. We aren’t big tech people so this wasn’t a huge deal except for the work conference we had scheduled while we were down there. I reached out to Sloan Realty about overriding the thermostat, and when to expect the internet back on which they promised to be back in touch, and never heard another word from anyone. When we arrived, the showers were not clean. Mold, hair, and a “scum ring” had to be scrubbed off the bath tub and around the ledge where the tile meets the tub before i could bathe my children. I also mentioned this issue to the person i spoke to on the phone and was basically ignored. I think when you pay a large cleaning fee for a 1100 sq ft house, it ought to be clean when you arrive. I wanted to love this property and this to be our new go to spot, but truthfully with being up so much during the night trying to keep the house at a comfortable temperature for our family, we left exhausted and ready to go home instead of refreshed and rejuvenated. I hope the thermostat issue can be resolved before the next renters arrive, and the communication is better for the next person who stays here.
