Enjoyed the stay and would rent this property again.

This place is a great location in Buxton… just steps to the beach. You can walk to a few restaurants and shops. It is a nice size for a family of 4. The beds are decent for a beach rental. Some minor updates would go a long way at the house. No hose by the steps means a lot of sand coming up the steps. No ceiling fans. Noisy appliances. The bathroom window slams shut- so be careful. You’ll need to open it because there isn’t a bathroom fan. The outside shower does not have a door which is an interesting choice for a duplex. There is a washer/dryer to share with the other unit. The house was clean. Check-in was easy with the key code. No basic necessities like salt/pepper, coffee filters, foil. Sheets and shower towels provided. Bring extra pillows and blankets. Keep your expectations realistic, spend your time on the beach and exploring the local towns, and this is the place for you!

You cannot beat this location (if you are familiar with Buxton)… just a few steps to the beach with great local restaurants and shops. The house is a good size for a family of 4. There is no hose at the bottom of the house steps so sand gets everywhere. Overhead ceiling fans to replace the lights would help with running the AC. And watch out for the bathroom window- it drops shut if it is not pushed up all the way. You’ll need to open it to shower because there is no bathroom fan. There also isn’t a full door on the outside shower which is an interesting choice for a duplex. The couch is comfortable, but the chairs need to be replaced. All in all, we had a fantastic week. The house was missing simple starter items- salt/pepper, coffee filters, foil. Sheets and shower towels are provided. Bring extra pillows and blankets. There is a washer/dryer but it is shared with the other unit.

This home is beautiful with breathtaking views!! Located in an underdeveloped part of the outer banks, it’s perfect for a slow peaceful get away. Locals are nice but demand you respect the area!! Perfect for our family of 4

Nice view from upper deck, good cleanliness for pet friendly unit, easy check in. Security concerns with renters of other unit being given code access to our unit in error, and lack of follow through in making sure that error was corrected in their records to prevent additional inconvenience to us (locked out before our checkout out day.) It was easy to get a rep from the management company on the phone for assistance and they were helpful and polite.

Comfortably clean and always appreciate the ease of key code check-in. Nice view from upper balcony. Now I understand it’s VRBO standard but initially saw ‘entire house’ & only realized it was a 2 unit building after the booking. No cutting board in kitchen, no beach area in front and could only walk to adjoining beach at low tide without wading. Biggest issue: entered unit & found suitcases, purse, laptop and dog bowls already there! Guest in upper unit apparently called Vacasa when they arrived to say they couldn’t get in, and the rep gave them a new code, not figuring out they were really booked in top unit. Thankfully those guests just stayed & switched units with us, but the idea of all their stuff being accessible to total strangers was alarming. Then after explaining all this to rep and that we were switching units, made sure to repeatedly note we were staying 1 day longer than them so code should NOT be changed until we left, when we got back to unit for our last night there, we were locked out and and had to call again to straighten out. Minor issue (until it’s not) 3 of the plastic deck chairs had damage which left sharp edges and kitchen chair had large sharp staples protruding under chair back (not visible) that were very capable of a good finger slice or puncture. The reps we spoke with were helpful and polite given the stressful reasons for our calls to them. Would probably not stay here again.

We enjoyed listening to the waves and spending time with our kids while staying here. It was relaxing. We were able to walk to a couple of shops/restaurants

This house is great if you're interested in doing anything besides sit on the beach. There is no beach in front of this property. Just completely washed out with septic tanks sitting on the sand from the houses in front of it. We made the most of our trip by spending a day in Orcacrok island and also Manteo. If you're getting a beach pass for your 4wd it should be fine.

We had a nice stay at Cape Bottom. It was in a good location, comfortable, and is pet friendly. The home was clean and provided the basics.

The proximity to the beach was amazing. There were also beach toys,and chairs to share. The house was clean and great for what we needed. A few things needs some maintinence such as the dishwasher( the detergent cap wouldn’t stay shut) and the front door lock but other than that it was really great

This place was very clean when we arrived. It is very close to the beach. A/C worked great! Plenty of hot water! Not going to win any design awards, but it’s a simple, safe place to stay.
