Summary:

Morning fog lifts to reveal blue Pacific horizons -- this is ocean-view living at its best. End the day in your private hot tub with the ocean as your soundtrack. Curl up by the fireplace as fog rolls in off the Pacific. Room for 6 in this 2-bedroom home. A short walk from the heated community pool. Architecture, nature, and the Pacific -- Sea Ranch has it all. On still nights the stars are overwhelming -- no city light for miles in any direction.

The Space:

Watch for passing harbor seals and grey whales from the comfort of this two-bedroom Sea Ranch home, a peaceful seaside retreat that offers beach access, a private covered hot tub, and two decks from which to enjoy the sweeping ocean and meadow views. It's also just a five-minute walk from the Bluff Trail and Pebble Beach, a short walk from Smuggler's Cove and the Sea Ranch Marine Preserve/Seal Sanctuary, less than two miles south of Stengel Beach, and three miles from the fascinating tide pools and rock formations of Shell Beach.

Whether you're planning a relaxing family vacation or a quiet getaway with friends, this Sea Ranch home offers comfort, a design, and ocean views from nearly every room. With hardwood floors, lofty cathedral ceilings, and large windows that face the water, the second-floor living space is full of warmth and sunlight. Curl up with a novel on one of the plush sofas, sit by the cozy gas fireplace as you observe the local black-tailed deer, or gather your friends for movie night in front of the YouTube TV and DVD/Blu-ray player. Choose from an extensive library of over 70 DVD/Blu-ray movies, or stream your favorite shows on Netflix and Amazon. The built-in, six-speaker surround sound system can connect to multiple devices, including an electronic keyboard. Flip on the stereo system as you prepare meals in the full kitchen, which offers plentiful cabinet space for your groceries. Enjoy breakfast with family and friends around the open dining room table for six, and feel free to relax as the dishwasher takes care of the plates. Take a soothing soak in the covered hot tub, enjoying the misty coastal views before the morning fog retreats. And when the afternoon sun is shining, head upstairs to the second deck to cook fresh seafood and steaks on the gas grill.

Although an unforgettable Sea Ranch vacation can easily be spent in the warmth of your hot tub or in the comfort of your living room, you'll find some of the region's most landscapes just outside your door. Walk along the majestic Bluff Top Trail to reach Walk On Beach four miles north, dive near Pebble Beach.

House was comfortable and well equipped. Giving 4 stars instead of 5 because we had an issue with the downstairs toilet backing up throughout the trip. Maintenance was unable to resolve the issue during the stay because a plumber was needed.

Great views from the second-story living room. Comfortable beds in large ground-floor rooms. Big tub and large, separate shower with seat in the master bedroom. Well-equipped kitchen, but dishes and glassware are difficult to access if you're short.

While the sun never came out during our stay, the whales did and more then made up for it. The house is lovely, comfortable, peaceful with million dollar views.

Very quick walk to the local beach which was great. The views of the ocean were amazing, we were saying we'd love this house for whale watching season in particular. Our kids loved the cushioned window seats for sleeping options. Kitchen was well stocked.

This was a 3rd visit to Ascona House & it's our favorite place to stay in Sea Ranch. The view is spectacular. The location is only minutes from the bluff trail & you're only 10 minutes away from the restaurants & stores in Gualala. The amenities throughout the house are perfect. It's great for one or two couples. The floor plan allows for privacy even when staying with others. If you have mobility issues, please note there are stairs. Best of all, it's super clean. Great Sea Ranch vibe.

Love the house and location, but why the home owner installed Arlo cameras outside to check on guests is troublesome. Will they someday install inside cameras?

Excellent location; expansive ocean views, well equipped, comfortable feels like home away from home. Our second visit with son & granddaughter who loved TSR pools, the proximity to the Big Beach, the quiet roads for learning to ride a bike. Clean, good separation between levels and bedrooms. Good office space for work. Responsive host.

My family and I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Ascona House and it was a fantastic experience. The property was exactly as described in the listing, if not better. The photos accurately represented the beautiful and spacious interior, and the description does not exaggerate the beauty of the surroundings. The house was equipped with everything we could possibly need. The kitchen had modern appliances, the living areas were comfortable, and the outdoor space was a real highlight. My 19 year-old son said it was one of the best places he has been. That is saying something! From the beach to watching the deer, neighborhood fox, and the amazing sky, it was pretty close to perfection.

We've stayed a many different Sea Ranch rental houses over the past few decades. Ascona House is one of the best rentals we've had. Although it's not right on the ocean, the ocean views from every room are fabulous. There are so many thoughtful additions to the house -- high-end mattresses, extra blankets and quilts, games and puzzles, amazing fixtures in both showers, an extremely well-stocked kitchen, and so much more. We hope to return again soon.

My sister and I stayed at this property and had a wonderful time. The location is extremely peaceful and quiet with lots of wildlife. From the balcony (where we ate breakfast and dinner every day) we saw rabbits, deer, foxes, and lots of birds throughout the weekend. The house has a great layout with lots of room for multiple people. The alcove on the top floor is a smart use of space, and would make an especially great space for an older child to sleep in. It even has an attached half-bath. The kitchen at this property is hands-down the best equipped kitchen I have ever experienced in a vacation rental, with lots of quality supplies to cook everything imaginable. Hiking along the bluff from this property was a real treat and had amazing ocean views. The property itself has wonderful ocean views from every room in the home and you definately get the wow factor every time you walk into the main living space on the top floor. The hottub has an excellent location with privacy while still allowing guests to experience the outdoors. My sister and I will certainly return to this location!
