Ocean View Dream Getaway! Romantic Cardiff by the Sea

Clean, comfortable, spacious, lush, close to many shops, restaurants and beaches. What more could you want? Hosts were responsive and generous.. Thanks so much for this wonderful stay.

Cardiff by the Sea is a wonderful place, well outfitted, very spacious and a great view of the ocean and sunsets.

What a beautiful and relaxing place. The view of the ocean and the lush yard, the sounds of the birds and the pond, and the wonderful walks to the beach, to the fancy neighborhood market, to the shops and the restaurants made it very relaxing stay in very nice neighborhood location. The hosts were very friendly and attentive and the accommodations were clean, private, and with plenty of space. It was easy to spend hours in the atrium taking in the sights and sounds and reading a book. Can’t wait to come back and recharge our batteries again in this happy place.

We had a wonderful 3 day stay at this romantic ocean view tropical Spanish style cottage in Cardiff by the Sea. The cottage is very comfortable with a queen sized bed in the main bedroom and a day bed in the sunporch. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils so making meals was very easy. They have a wall heater in the living room/kitchen and a portable heater in the bedroom should it get chilly at night. You can hear the waves crashing on the beach in the distance and an occasional train does go by on the tracks that are about 100yds from the house, but neither were a noise problem. There is a lovely balcony that extends over the lower backyard that has a BBQ and offers wonderful views of the ocean and the sunsets. Se would definitely book this cottage again!

The apartment was just as the pictures show. Lot's of old world charm. Felt like we were in another country. The brick walk way to the apartment is quite a slope but we maneuvered it just fine. A nice large sunroom and a small balcony to enjoy the outdoors and it is surrounded by lush vegetation. Clean, comfortable and everything you need for a vacation by the beach.

The house was awesome in a great location. Nice views and an easy walk to town. Karen and Craig were wonderful hosts and are super-nice people. We enjoyed our stay very much!

It was a amazing little spot. You could walk around a thousand times and find something else that you didn't see before! Great walk on the beach! Overall just lovely!

my daughter and i were in San Diego area to watch a family member play soccer in the ECNL championshipsthe pace was exactly as described and Karen was available for our questions we very much enjoyed our 5 day stay

We needed some rest and got it. Great Loca you can train to SD, easy access to shopping. We will be back

I rented Karen and Craig’s beautiful apartment for 6 nights and everything was wonderful. They couldn’t have been friendlier or more accommodating. The patio and view are amazing and sitting on the deck enjoying the sound of the ocean while watching the hummingbirds flit around and the koi swim in their pool was so relaxing. The backyard is an oasis, complete with grill. I loved this place and would book it again in a heartbeat.

This home was a peaceful paradise—lush plants, a koi pond, sunflowers, and a garden buzzing with hummingbirds and birdsong. The ocean view was stunning, and the Golden Girls vibes gave the spacious-yet-cozy house a charming, nostalgic feel. It was one of those places that instantly slows your heart rate and reminds you to breathe. We left feeling relaxed, happier, and more connected to the beauty around us. A true gem of a stay.

Cannot say enough amazing things about this property. First of all-Karen and Craig were both absolutely darling. Very communicative and responsive. We also got to meet one of their doggos-they are in a side yard and are super friendly-which is always nice. The property has multiple outdoor spaces and multiple indoor seating areas. Very spacious. Ocean views. Adorable koi pond and the babbling water provides relaxing ambience while enjoying a frosty beverage outside. For those looking to book-the owners do live on the property (their house is above the VRBO) but it still felt very private and they were very conscientious hosts. Husband and I did an hour walk both days of our stay and anything you could want is walking distance-brunch, coffee, dinner, shopping, etc with a Vons just a short drive away. Excellent excellent 5 star location and hosts. We will definitely be back!

Very convenient stay in beautiful setting.

Karen was a terrific host and provided great communication before and during our stay. The house was exactly as pictured, was very clean with fun eclectic decor. It was very close to the walking path that heads from Cardiff by the Sea to Solana Beach.

Sunroom was a good place hang out for relaxing. Proximity to walking path and Cardiff was a definite plus.

Super clean and exceptionally nice people who own the property. Short walk to the beach and close just about anything you want to find. My wife and I enjoyed the back yard flower garden. It's peaceful at night. Will stay again if we make it to the other side of the country again.

Great location. Bed was very comfortable. Several options for seating areas. Thought was put into every detail. Relaxing views and ocean sounds. Convenient for walking to downtown.I most appreciated the care the owners put into equipping and stocking. I have stayed in many VRBOs where the kitchens were stocked with sub par cooking equipment and a horrible mismatch of plates, cups and silverware. Karen and Craig took into account that people stay in VRBOs in part because they want to prepare meals. The cooking and baking equipment made this possible without making it a chore because we didn’t have to make do with poor equipment. Also, so much gratitude for supplying quality paper goods, soaps and hair care—those details made our stay so comfortable and easy. Highly recommend, and our gratitude is extended for providing a base for a wonderful vacation.

What a fantastic sunshine haven to escape to in the depths of winter. The apartment had everything we needed and was spotlessly clean. Karen and Craig have given everything considerable thought and were very welcoming. We will be sure to return.

This was a great location that was affordable for this area. Cute boho type apartment. Sweet backyard with fruits, trees and plants with a continuous sound of flowing water. Just lovely

My husband and I spent 2 nights at Karen and Craig's place to celebrate our anniversary. It was very comfortable and we immediately felt at home. The yard is gorgeous! Unfortunately, we happened to be there during a major rainfall so could only enjoy it from the sunporch while listening to the rain on the roof, nice in its own way. The hosts are responsive, kind and helpful. We'd recommend it especially for a longer stay.

So peaceful and private, yet close to downtown Encinitas for dining, shopping and beaches. Exactly as shown in photos with a breathtaking view hard to put into words! Karen was a lovely host! Would stay here again in a second, perhaps for a more extended stay. Loved it!!

We had a beautiful stay, owners right there, super nice couple, very respectful of privacy and place was really beautiful!

We were only there for a couple of nights. It was a bit pricey for that but we greatly enjoyed our stay. Spacious and peaceful. Easy to walk to beach, stores, etc.Be aware that the owners live above you and their dogs will greet you coming and going. Having the parks parking pass was great. The kitchen is well set up and the unit is nicely decorated. Bottom line: would definitely stay there again.

Everything was amazing! It was our 1st wedding anniversary and we were so lucky to snag this spot! Karen and Craig were so kind and accommodating, the location of the house was perfect and we just loved it so much! We will definitely be booking again in the future!

The pictures don't do the property justice. It is even more beautiful and magical in person. The owners of the property are delightful and incredibly helpful. The bed is comfortable, and the casita has everything you need for a coastal vacation. No need to leave the property to view the sun set into the ocean, but there are gorgeous beaches nearby and a great walking path one minute from the property. If you are looking for a little piece of paradise to relax and enjoy the coast, look no further! I will definitely return as soon as possible.
