Oasis at North Jax Beach, Steps to Beach

I cannot recommend this vacation house. There are significant issues that made our stay uncomfortable and concerning: Structural Problems: The house feels tilted, indicating potential foundation issues. This raised safety concerns during our stay, as it felt like the structure could collapse at any moment. Misleading Photos: The listing photos are not an accurate representation of the property. The house is much smaller than it appears online, and there are only two bathrooms — one on each floor. The lower-level bathroom is so small it cannot even be considered functional. Damp and Musty Environment: The house is extremely damp, and the smell of moisture permeates the space. This was not only unpleasant but also made the living conditions uncomfortable. Severe Maintenance Issues: Paint is peeling from the walls and ceiling, adding to the overall neglect of the property. For the safety and comfort of future guests, I would recommend the owner to address these critical issues immediately. Until then, it is not a safe or enjoyable place to stay.

The host denied me access to the property so I cannot comment on the interior. The outside of the property was dirty, in disrepair, outside decking with gaping holes in the railing, building materials in the back yard. The pool was dirty and the pool deck covered with leaves, branches, and palm debris. The property did not appear to have been assessed or prepared for renters arriving the day and time of my check in at 4pm. The host did not provide check in instructions at time of check in nor did he answer his phone when I made several attempts to contact him at time of check in. I had to contact VRBO customer service for assistance. The host did finally call me back and claimed his property manager lost her phone that morning as an explanation as to why I had not received check in instructions. When I asked the host to have someone go to the property to clean it up, clean the pool, check on the interior, he got very defensive and told me to not enter the property. He ended the call and immediately sent me a text message clearly stating that I not access the rental. I had no choice but to contact VRBO customer assistance as now I had no place to stay with my family which included my 2 year old granddaughter. VRBO customer assistance provided me help in finding another place to stay. The host contacted me several more times throughout the rest of the week demanding I cancel this rental. VRBO helped me get a full refund.

I will never rent here again. The house is run down and not at all what I expected. A/C quit working while we were there causing a very unpleasant night, pool area is infested with mosquitoes and unusable. Spent 100 dollars on sprays just to combat them. Ants were a constant problem in the kitchen and the worst was the basement has a black mold issue around the vents and dehumidifier and smells awful, causing my pregnant daughter to seek other accommodations. I asked for compensation due to these issues and have heard nothing back from them. VRBO should not list this property

First off let me say I’d stay here again just for the location and the pool. The owner was quick to respond to questions and the house had just about everything we needed as a family of 8, including kids ranging 2-12. The only thing that we struggled with was the separation of the upper and lower units. It’s plainly listed on the description, I just overlooked it. With kids that are self sufficient, this wouldn’t be an issue… but we felt uneasy leaving our little ones unattended on one floor while we were on the other, even with live monitors and cameras we brought with us. Even with that small inconvenience it was a great stay!

A birthday weekend with family, everything needed for a great beach getaway!

The house was an excellent location for us and clean. The home's unique characteristics should be played to in the marketing efforts. Then, services are provided as compensation for the character. For example, the amenities, such as steak knives that are fantastic, enough toilet paper and paper towels for the visit. The trash around the pool area cleaned up, not sure but it appeared that there was a filter from a while ago that had been changed out and just left half in the box and mid way under the deck. Which is a bit treacherous, I would highly recommend replacing that to ensure no one gets injured. I recommend these things as we, too, have rental property and see this as a word from experience, perhaps. It was fine; we enjoyed our time and had fun with the character of the home, and I am sure the weekend will always be known as the time we spent in the slanted house. Have a great Spring!

My original reservation was for Jan12th – Jan17th for my nephew’s football tournament. I contacted the property manager & asked could I change my reservation to Jan 12th-Jan16th. The manager stated that he will refund me for the last day of $150.00 after check out. It's Jan 22nd, & I still haven’t received my refund. The entire unit downstairs slants very badly and the plumbing in the unit is horrible. We stayed here for almost a week & the toilet did not flush. The water wouldn’t reload in the toilet automatically & throughout our stay we had to use the upstairs bathroom. We had to physically put water on for it to flush. The outside exterior in the front and back yard looks horrible & I thought I was scammed. The stairs are worn with nails coming out, the brinks on the ground aren’t leveled, the outside light to the downstairs porch unit wasn’t working, & the grass wasn’t cut nor were the bushes. It gave, I don’t care about people staying in my home this week. I was really looking forward to the “wonderfully landscaped backyard” as stated on the internet. Once we pulled back the linen on each bed as requested, we found that each mattress was full of multiple pee stains. This property was not worth the price we paid for it. I also have a video on how we left the house so you can’t say we didn’t clean it like requested. My family & I travel a lot & normally book through resorts. This was my first and last time doing this. I have pics & videos to support everything I stated.

House had slanted floors and hadn’t had a lot of upkeep on the exterior. Wasn’t as great as photos. Pool was dirty. Location is amazing. Beach access easy. Appliances worked. Backyard area is great and offers shading for large portion of day. I’d give this 3.5 stars but def not 4.

We had an amazing time celebrating my parents 50th with all their kids and grandkids! The kitchen was well equipped to host all our meals, the pool area was partially shaded and great for spending time relaxing together and the beach is right there to enjoy the sunrise and play!

Great Location - steps from the beach and the pool is wonderful!
