Come experience the beauty of the Berkshires. Newly renovated historic colonial, built in 1880, boasts high ceilings, an open floor plan and all the comfort you need for a relaxing New England get away. This beautiful 5 bedroom, 3 bath home stands on just under 2 acres, carries views of the Berkshire mountains and presents historic charm blended with modern comforts. Located in Western Massachusetts, minutes from the Vermont border, our location makes both surrounding attractions in Vermont and the Berkshires accessible. Perfect no matter the season and located directly across the street from the Deerfield River, this home offers complete indoor relaxation as well as endless outdoor activities. Only 2 hours from Boston and 3 hours from NYC this home’s location is perfect for a quick weekend away.

Revel in the absolute beauty of Western Massachusetts/Southern Vermont by exploring the many scenic areas and culture. Treat yourself to delicious meals at some of the local eateries. The town of Charlemont is a hill town community located along the Deerfield River and scenic Mohawk Trail in Northwestern, Ma. You can feel the history in town and even visit the historic Hoosic tunnel which is a few miles up the road (and if you’re lucky you may even see the freight train pass by the house). In the summer, tubing down the river is quite an adventure. The home provides river tubes for guests which are stored in the barn (life vests are not provided so please plan accordingly). Berkshire East Mountain Resort is approximately 5 minutes away and offers white water rafting tours, downhill skiing, mountain biking, ziplines, an aerial adventure park and mountain coaster. Hicks Family Farm and Corn Maze is a great spot in the fall for pumpkin picking and also does a super scary haunted corn maze.

Shelburne Falls, a vibrant art community, is approximately 15 minutes away and is home to the famous Bridge of Flowers, art galleries, coffee shops, eateries, boutiques and a bowling alley. Historic downtown Wilmington Vt is approximately 25 minutes away and is also full of independently owned shops and restaurants. Celebrating farm-to-table culture, many local restaurants offer the best of the bounty of the land and there are specialty stores such as Quaigh Designs, The Vermont Bowl Company and the Norton Quilt House to visit. Mt. Snow is approximately 45 minutes away and Stratton Mountain is under an hour from the house. If boating or jet skiing is more your jam, High County Marine is a rental business located in Wilmington, Vt.

Back at the home you will find a charming, well appointed kitchen with a large island for prepping your favorite meal. The kitchen is open to the dining room which includes an 8’ custom farmhouse table, a charming fireplace and 2 comfortable swivel chairs for lounging. Adjacent is a large living room with sectional sofa and flat screen tv which is the most comfortable place to curl up and watch a movie with your family. This room has french doors leading to a beautiful outdoor goshen stone patio and fire pit surrounded by lush perennial gardens. To complete the first floor there is a bedroom with queen sized bed, a full bathroom, and a bedroom with king sized bed and ensuite. The second floor adds a full bathroom, 2 bedrooms with queen sized beds and a bedroom with 2 twin sized beds. There is also a small office space should you need a place to work ( though hopefully you won’t!)
Enjoy a family picnic in the barn where a grill and farmhouse table is available for use. Ping pong, corn hole and other games in the barn are available for our guests use as well. Or, sit on the porch and take in the sounds of nature and the Deerfield River. This special home has something for everyone to enjoy. Stay at this retreat and truly appreciate all the beauty that this home and area has to offer. Early check-ins and late check-outs are extremely hard to accommodate due to cleaning and maintenance schedules. Please don’t assume these can be accomodated. If you need more time please book accordingly. Thanks so much for your understanding.

This is a gorgeous renovated farm house. We were there for a wedding so we didn’t get to spend very much time at the house. We would definitely rent this house again!Just a note that cell service is pretty much nonexistent, but that can be a benefit at times.

Overall this is a great property, with lovely views and a beautiful interior. It comfortably sleeps a lot of people, has soft towels, and great big table for dining together. One bathroom is large and nicely renovated although the other two are quite small; showers only, no tubs, and not many spots to put toiletries or hang towels. Although there are some games the property is a bit challenging with young kids due to steep stairs and no way to baby proof them.

We did a lot of cooking, lots of pots and pans, including some spices others had left. It was nice to have the tea kettle and French press. The river out front was gorgeous, we had a little trouble finding the input and picnic area which is down the road past the house. Everything was clean. The bedroom with the king bed had no shades however, it was difficult to sleep in. We played the games offered in the barn, corn hole needs some love. Over all a great stay!

The spacious open plan house was perfect for us and 4 other family members. It is in a beautiful mountain location and loved the barn for BBQ with the picnic table and ping pong. The outdoor firepit was a wonderful spot to hang out evenings and the porch with rocking chairs was perfect for morning coffee.

Our extended family flew in from California for an August wedding at “Amongst the Oaks” that is just down the road. Had a wonderful visit. The house was clean and well appointed and big enough that the 10 of us could hang out or find some alone time. We enjoyed the front porch and fire pit BBQ. Some of the youngsters swam in the river and had a blast.Couldn’t have been better.

A gorgeous country home just as described and better. Modern appliances, spacious rooms, and beautiful backyard garden. Very relaxing front porch with rocking chairs. We attended a wedding nearby and afterward it was so nice relaxing in the Adirondack chairs in the back yard. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend this home

This property is prettier than the photos. It’s a worthy drive from the Berkshires or UMass Amherst with the cleanest home you’ll find. The gardens and friendly chipmunks are perfect, the surrounding mountains offer beautiful views and home is great for an extended family get away. The hosts are so helpful and kind and I’d stay there again in a heartbeat.

Spacious and beautifully restored historic home in Western Mass. The house was exactly as advertised, lots of space with comfortable bedding, incredibly clean, and so tastefully decorated combing historic charm with modern amenities. A gem of a place in an area that doesn't have many accommodations. I look forward to staying again in any season.
