Burlington, Kentucky
This home is a large open space perfect for entertaining and communing. It is just outside of the little historic river hamlet of Rabbit Hash. The house was built by Ed Unterreiner, the same builder that rebuilt the Rabbit Hash General Store after the devastating fire of 2016. The modern rustic house is full of salvaged materials and building gems. It is really a must see.
Rabbit Hash is conveniently located 20 minutes from I-75, 20 minutes to the Creation Museum, 30 minutes from the ark and just a 5 minute ferry ride across the Ohio River from Rising Star Casino in Rising Sun, Indiana.
It has a fully equipt kitchen, sleeping accommodations for 4 people comfortably. There is only one bathroom on the first floor with a shower and there is an outdoor shower for summer use only. The driveway is shared but the orientation of the house offers much privacy with alarge covered porch facing in the opposite direction.
This cabin is so beautiful and relaxing! We enjoyed every moment we were there! No noise, we slept so peacefully! All the commendations of living in your own home! Very clean, I used some of her spices and stuff to cook with! Next time I go back , I will buy things to leave what I used, for the next guests! This was my family first time to stay at a cabin! So I didn’t know what to expect! Thanks Terri!!
The driveway was very difficult to navigate. The stove did not work. No coffee maker or microwave. I had to contact the property owner for check in instructions. Did not receive email as promised. House was lovely and loved the location.
It was a very interesting house, and very cozy. The view is amazing and I enjoyed it very much!
This unique home is tucked away in the rolling hills of KY and is a short drive from the airport. It’s also conveniently located between both the Ark Encounter and the Creation Museum. The property is very quiet and private and has everything you might need to make your stay comfortable. Terrie responded to any needs we had and takes great pride in maintaining the property. You won’t find another place like it!
Terrie is a great host. With an eye for unique design, she has created a wonderful retreat that is true to the spirit of Rabbit Hash and a comfortable and functional space for guests.
Overall stay was good, the stairs were a bit of a trick. Enjoyed our stay very much.
We enjoyed our stay. Location was remote but very peaceful. Such detail on the home! Would stay again
We had a very enjoyable time staying at this nice cabin and visiting the creation museum and the ark encounter.
Everything was absolutly perfect
I would have happily stayed for a week! Our experience was just divine. The cabin is cozy and clean and gorgeous and well-stocked. We are looking forward to returning. If I could give 10 stars, I would.
This place was a wonderful little getaway, remotely tucked into the hillside!
This property is like staying in a piece of art. Beautiful surroundings, everything you need for a quiet getaway in the hills of Kentucky. The stairs to the upstairs sleeping area are tricky and require practice; however, there is a hideaway bed on the first level if you don't want to do stairs. Just lovely in every way.
Beautiful cabin with plenty of room. It was a little more remote than we had anticipated. 25-30 min. Away from creation museum and 45 min. From the Ark. the driveway was very rough to get up. All bedrooms are upstairs. We slept on a fold out sofa downstairs due to the “odd” construction of the stairs. Not recommended for small children. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would come back. We loved the historic area of Rabbit Hash!
Beautiful cabin, beautiful location close to a very cool little historic area completely unlike any other historic area. Definitely planning on taking the kid here for a week in the summer.
Nice Deer on the hill Rabbits on the front lawn
Beautiful property located in a beautiful area. My husband I and enjoyed our stay.
My partner and I enjoyed celebrating our one year anniversary here. Definitely felt private, unique, and warm :)
We really enjoyed our stay at this rustic cabin. We used it as a central location for a visit to the area for The Creation Museum and The Ark Encounter. Then spent a couple of days exploring the Northern Kentucky area. It served it’s purpose well. There were two items that MIGHT be an issue for a family with small children or elderly adults. The steps up to the loft are very steep to conserve space and the water is on a cistern so consumption must be watched. We had no problems with these ourselves but could see where they might need to be considered for people in different situations than ours. Also, be aware we have T-Mobile and had no cell reception while in the house we did have internet so we were fine. We actually really really enjoyed our stay here!
Nice place. Beautiful area. Convenient to Ark Encounter and other area to-do's.
If your looking for a quiet place to get away, this is the place. The house is very unique and charming. Love the open floor plan and sitting on the porch watching the firefly show. We would visit again for sure. .
Nice place, just as described. The bed was a little squeaky, which wasn't ideal for a restless sleeper, but we enjoyed our stay.
This is a beautiful and unique property. Terrie was very responsive and helpful!
The house is a great place to stay. Cosy and well thought out and decorated.
