Stayed May 13, 2026I reserved this house in January for a week long stay in May. Three days before our arrival date, I sent a message to Daquon asking a question. He then calls me and says he’s been meaning to call me because the house is not available since he rented it to someone through a different company and they’re already there. He wants me to cancel my reservation, and he “promises” I’ll get all my money back, even though we’re in the “no refunds” period for cancellation. If I hadn’t messaged him I don’t think he would have called, so I would have shown up at the house (I’d been sent the door lock code in January) with someone thinking I was trying to break in. What a dangerous situation! Vrbo handled the situation well, but it was graduation season (the reason we were traveling to Deridder) so there was almost nothing available for us to rent at the late date. We ended up an hour away from Deridder, in a place with less bedrooms and space. We made the best of it, but after researching and paying for a stay months in advance, it was very frustrating and upsetting.
