Stayed Jun 20, 2026What a wonderful home to be able to be able to spend a week in. Breathtaking views right from the front door looking out to Lake Michigan. We loved watching the sun set each night. We would definitely stay here again!

Stayed Jun 15, 2026We had a very enjoyable stay and hope to come back again. The host provided everything needed for a pleasant stay including our morning cup of coffee. The home provides calm views of the lake from the front, a lovely patio in the back, two cozy fireplaces, and an overall relaxing experience. The layout of the house and numerous windows make it bright and cheery, and the stone walls block the sound from the surrounding streets. Definitely a five star experience.

Stayed May 16, 2026The house has so many unique characteristics, it was a fun stay! The fireplace was lovely, we had relaxing evenings in, enjoying the beauty of inside and outside. Seeing the lighthouse from the living room is cool. There were gorgeous sunsets while we were there. We ate out so didn't need to use the kitchen much. Highly recommend Weathervane for dinner and Blondies Coffee!

Stayed Mar 19, 2026Earl Young's houses are a big reason people come to Charlevoix and the best way to see one is to stay in one. As a place to stay, the house was beautifully appointed, comfortable, clean and convenient. I spent a lot of time ensconced on the sofa with the fire roaring in the fireplace reading a book about Earl Young, who's house I was sitting in. One of his goals was to make his houses cozy and homey...from day 1. This house welcomed us in and covinced us that an afternoon spent by the fire or looking out at Lake Michigan was an afternoon well spent. The interior design is amazing and something you can't see at the other mushroom houses, all privately owned and closed to the public. Built-in storage, heated floors, two working fireplaces, views to die for, amazing design details. Its an easy to walk downtown to shops (Dockside Books!!!) and resturants (That French Place lives up to its 5 star reviews). We also enjoyed an easy run along the lake through Boulder Park (Young's big development). Everyone we met in town was very friendly and welcoming; appropriate for a place that has been a tourist haven since the the 1800s. Final Note: Charlevoix had a suprise storm that dropped 2 feet of snow three days before we arrived. Our VRBO had the sidewalk completely cleared with shovel and a bucket of salt, should we need it. THANK YOU. GREAT STAY.

Stayed Sep 30, 2025The house was exceptional. The location was perfect & overlooked Lake Michigan. The town was very close by and charming. The host paid special attention to details in the house & was equipped with everything we needed. All we had to do was bring our clothes. We will definitely be back.

Stayed Sep 17, 2025Very unique house. Might not be suitable for tall people as the ceilings in some rooms are low. The kitchen is small but very serviceable. Living room is beautiful and the tv and internet worked great. The best part of the house is the deck which soars nearly three stories above the street below. We spent a great deal of time on the deck for meals and lounging. Convenient walking distance to town.
