Chelan, Washington
If you've been up the South Shore before, chances are you've stopped at Mountainside. For fifty years, this extraordinary viewpoint has lured thousands of people to pull over and take in the soaring views of Lake Chelan and the Chelan-Sawtooth Mountains. There is something incredible about this spot that has beckoned people to stop their cars, get out and simply take in the scenery.
A small swimming pool perches on the hillside with expansive views over the lake. A trail meanders down to the private waterfront. There is more than an acre of grounds across the hillside for you to explore.
Marmots scamper on the rocks. Osprey fish right below the deck. Deer wander down the trail to the lake. This is a true wilderness experience, without the need for “roughing it.” It is a place where you can relax, unwind, and truly appreciate one of the greatest lakes in the world.
All of this is just 10 minutes from the nearest winery and 15 minutes from town. This is the Chelan experience you've been dreaming about, set in an incomparable location. We invite you to come and experience Lake Chelan.
The houses were perfect for our large families. It was close enough to feel like the teens were under our supervision but enough space to be able to breathe and have quiet time in one house and not the other. We loved the home feeling if the houses.
Houses were great and the common area makes it so nice for everyone to gather together. Beautiful view, super peaceful surroundings. Very satisfying and will absolutely be back!
The houses were nice. The little soaking pool was the savior since we couldn’t easily make it to the lake and even one person in our group is a marathon runner and said he was “one and done” for trips down and back on the switch back trail on the steep hill to and from the lake. There is only a tiny plank you could stand on at the lake. There is no beach or space to enjoy the lake at all. The bees were awful and two of us were stung. We couldn’t eat outside or then they were much worse since the food attracted them. (The whole reason you go to Chelan is to spend time outside) In one if the houses the sugar ants were so bad that you could leave nothing on the counters. Beings they are so little they got into all the sealed Costco muffins and we had to toss them out. I spent much time prepping food on the kitchen table quickly as to not deal with ants in the food. That’s being said, the air conditioning worked well and parking was great. If you are only going for nice houses with a great view but don’t care to utilize the lake or outdoors spaces much, this is a great place.
Everything was great, as advertised. We had a wonderful time. The griddle (yes griddle, not grill) was out of gas. The spare tank was defective so we used the small amount from the fire table. I called the property manager Monday and told them about the situation. They told me they would have someone drop off another tank. We ran out of the small amount we had on Thursday. I called the property manager Friday and left a message that we were completely out of propane and I asked them to call me back so I knew they got the message. No call back, no propane, no outdoor cooking.
Perfect for family of 14. Kids loved the pool. Nice to have 2 houses for a group that size and 2 kitchens. View and location on lake were wonderful.
We had such a fun time there. Plenty of space for families with kids. Thank you for letting us there. Definitely coming back here next year if possible
We were impressed with the accommodations. Lots of space, close to town and the state park. Amazing views from the decks! The only thing we would suggest is to have new cookware. It was hard to cook using pans and utensils that were falling apart. We made it work tho. Thank you for such a great place to stay!
We had a great time at these mountainside houses. Nicely tucked away and exactly what we needed, with a fantastic view and great amenities.
Cabins are great for accomplishing large group. The view of the lake Chelan from the cabins is stunning! The pool and the outdoor sitting area is beautiful. We really enjoyed our stay and had so much fun.
View is good swimming pool could of been biger, but good for kids
The views at this property are beautiful! The house is a bit outdated and some of the furniture and things are well loved (broken/damage). We had issues connecting to the internet (which we needed for our baby monitor). I did talk to the property manager who at one point told me he would call me back after talking to the cable company, however, we never heard back from him and we were left on our own to figure it out. The pool is nice, but it didn’t seem like the area was clean as there were some big hair balls in the pool, a dental retainer, and food remnants, etc. I would recommend this place for the views and outdoor patio, though!
This property has the most amazing views ! Nice little pool for the kids. We had a very nice time!
Loved our stay at these cozy cabins! The weekend was wonderful.
