Welcome to the vibrant and eclectic neighborhood of Joshua Tree!

Getting Around:

Getting around Joshua Tree is easy and convenient from Moonrise Ranch. The house is located just a mile from the center of town, where you can find various shops, bars, and restaurants to explore. It's also less than 10 minutes from the entrance to Joshua Tree National Park, where you can spend your days hiking, rock climbing, and taking in the stunning desert landscape.

If you prefer not to drive, there are several options for getting around town. You can rent a bike from one of the local shops or take a leisurely stroll through the neighborhood. There are also several tour companies in the area that offer guided hikes and other outdoor activities.

If you're flying in, the nearest major airport is Palm Springs International Airport, which is about an hour's drive from Moonrise Ranch. You can also fly into Los Angeles International Airport, which is about two and a half hours away by car.

We recommend renting a car to fully explore the area and get the most out of your stay. However, if you prefer not to drive, there are several shuttle services and ride-sharing options available.

Whatever your preferred mode of transportation, Moonrise Ranch is the perfect home base for your Joshua Tree adventure. Come and experience the beauty and magic of the desert for yourself!

Other Things to Note:

While the house has central A/C, please note that the desert can get quite hot during the summer months. We recommend bringing lightweight, breathable clothing and plenty of sunscreen and staying hydrated throughout your stay.

The house is located in a quiet residential neighborhood, and we ask that you please be respectful of our neighbors and keep noise levels down, especially after 10 pm.

Moonrise Ranch is a non-smoking property. Smoking is not allowed anywhere on the premises, including the outdoor areas.

While the cowboy tub is a unique and enjoyable feature of the house, please use caution when using it and do not leave children unattended. Please note that the cowboy pool may have debris during your stay. Although we do our best to ensure it is free of debris, the Mojave Desert is incredibly windy and can cause debris to enter the pool.

We take great pride in maintaining a clean and comfortable environment for our guests. Please help us keep the house in good condition by cleaning up after yourself and respecting the property during your stay.

Finally, we want you to enjoy your time at Moonrise Ranch to the fullest! If you have any questions or concerns during your stay, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We're here to help make your Joshua Tree experience unforgettable.

Our stay at moonrise ranch was underwhelming. We were very excited for our first visit to Joshua tree with our dogs to escape fireworks and were left disappointed. It started by walking in to the house and seeing a very dirty/stained couch, that we had to cover with towels during our stay. As we made our way around the house we noticed more and more things were damaged. Not only were things physically damaged but most of the lights switches in the house didn’t turn any lights on. We could never turn on any outdoor lights and only the light over the sink in the kitchen worked. As we ventured to the backyard we were met with a very dirty pool (which once we notified the host they had it cleaned), but unlike the pictures there is no filter attached to the pool. Also, the backdoor deadbolt was smashed like someone had tried to break in. There was also random confetti or balloon debris all over the ground in the backyard. Then in the bathroom the toilet paper holder was missing and the towel rack was barely hanging on the wall. Tall people be warned - the shower head is only suitable for people under 5’5. Now with all the physical damages aside, we were willing to finish our trip here, however, that all came crashing down when the AC stopped blowing cold air after our first night. It got so hot in the house that we had to leave during the day and it didn’t get better so we had to cut our trip short. This house could be great if it gets the proper maintenance it desperately needs.

The dirt front yard was unkept and with dead plants. The house was not very clean. No curtain on the back of the house. The Amenities listed were not working. The record player was broken. They drained the little pool in the dirt back yard before our arrival so we weren't able to use the fire pit. The beds were comfortable and the location was ok.

This home is unforgettable. It was decorated with wonderful retro furniture, clocks, pictures, appliances, and even a record player. It was so clean and welcoming. We had a little trouble locating it due to a Mapquest mishap, but our host called us immediately and guided us to one of the most memorable places we have ever had the pleasure of visiting. I hope the owners know that they are creating life time memories for people from all over. Thank you.

Our stay was great. The location is close to everything. Loved the cowboy pool, fireplace and hammock. The house was clean and the A/C was on and cool when we checked in.

Right off of 29 Palms in Joshua Tree. Quick drive to everything you need and about 20minutes to the entrance of the National Park. Very nice place with 2 large bedrooms. Perfect for our hiking weekend and still close enough to the main road to enjoy the town and townies. Would easily stay here again.

So many postives! Wonderful retro kitchen, well maintained with washer/dryer. Well stocked bathroom Comfortable beds Bonus closed in porch with yoga studio, books Oasis of a backyard with rare mature trees for the area, and a plunge pool - although the water was pretty chilly! Great hammock and fire pit WITH firewood and a clean newer grill that we utilized. Close to west entrance and the best coffee shop - JT Coffee. Communication with owner was courteous and responsive. Yep, I recommend!
