Stayed Aug 8, 2025The newly renovated interior of this home has many updated and upgraded touches. It is spacious and bright, clean with a touch of modern. We really liked the artwork as well. Best of all, you just stroll across the lawn to a peaceful no-bank waterfront beach. I highly recommend!

Stayed Jul 28, 2025Terrific property! Quiet, beautiful, well stocked kitchen. Lovely! Our family of 4 adults enjoyed our getaway very much. I especially enjoyed my beautiful view every morning (pictured) and evening when the sun set. It was very peaceful and rejunivating.

Stayed Jul 28, 2025Our family of 4 (all adult age) enjoyed this home very much. We were amazed at the fully-stocked kitchen. It was almost too much, because we were constantly re-opening drawers (I know I saw it somewhere!) You could defintiely cook a gourmet meal here. And the indoor dinning table, while naturally an 8-top, has 10 chairs if you want to squeeze in. There are also two outdoor dinning tables, so you could host a feast. I think you need permission to have more than 6 people stay here, but there is room for more and you could have others for a meal I suppose. The livingroom and outdoor furniture is comfortable. There are puzzles and games under the bar stool area. The waterfront is right there... very muddy, but usable. We brought our inflatable kayak and were able to go straight from the property. Sunsets were beautiful. Honestly, just being able to sit in the living room, or outside, and look at the bay and the landscape beyond was very peaceful. There is a steep dirt road down to the house. It wasn't hard to navigate in our good summer weather, but I don't know about other times of year. Note: mostly not handicap accessible -- certainly not for a wheelchair user. Also, the primary room king bed was not the best. I new mattress or a thick foam topper would make a big difference.

Stayed Jun 27, 2025Our family loved the modern and upgraded conveniences tucked away in a peaceful area of the island. Picturesque windows allowed us to gaze out into beautiful sunset colors and spy birds, seals and otters. The sound system let us stream some relaxing tunes to help us unwind. Really enjoyed making dinners with fresh ingredients from nearby farms with every appliance and tool we could think of.The house’s main area is open and airy. The only minor inconvenience for us was that the doors to the hall and back bedroom bathrooms were narrower than a standard door, so our mother’s rolling walker couldn’t fit through the frame. She was able to manage using her cane.

Stayed Jun 27, 2025The most modern appliances and conveniences (including a great sound system and streamable music) while still feeling like you’re unplugged from the world. Great for birders and also had a few seals swim by each evening!

Stayed Jun 9, 2025Had a fantastic visit at this property and loved every minute of it! Located at the South end of the island and away from the crowds it affords a very private and quiet experience. Fantastically stocked kitchen - we cooked almost all our meals in and came prepared however we hardly had to use anything at all! Kirkland olive oil with a fresh date on it, no old sell-by dates, etc. and an amazing assortment of pots, pans, knives, utensils, etc. The appliances are all like new and function flawlessly. The water filter on the fridge was even 'current / not expired!' which is rarely the case! (great attention to detail) The range and oven were easy to use and great to cook on, and the gas grill outside was practically brand new and even had a spare full gas cylendar next to it! (Had a great time cooking outside on that grill - very nice!) The floors were new and the seating comfortable, which made watching movies at night easy and enjoyable. It's clear the owners have spent a lot of money dressing the place up and it shows! We truly enjoyed being there, wandering around the beach area and just sitting outside by the fire pit (splitting maul and hatchet with plenty of dry firewood included!) With the village being a short 10-15m drive away we never felt it was 'too far' (small rural store 5m away) and loved being so close to so many amazing parks/hikes/beaches. My only disappointment was not being able to stay longer....

Stayed Jun 1, 2025This was my fourth time staying here and it always leaves me relaxed, happy and feeling connected to nature. The home itself is stunning and outfitted with everything you could need. The property is gorgeous, very very quiet sitting on Mud Bay with families of geese, eagles, seagulls and otters. On the south end of the island, it’s “Slowpez” at its best!

Stayed May 7, 2025The home and property were stunning. Beautifully arranged and we had everything we need. I felt if the owners knew how their home was being maintained they may be disappointed. The gorgeous corner windows designed for views were covered in handprints and hadn't been cleaned in a while. We had to wash them to actually enjoy the view. We did not use the primary shower due to lack of cleanliness. Dust, soap scum and hair remnants were easily visible. The beds unfortunately need replacing as they have indents and pillows were badly stained. We were so happy with how stocked the kitchen was as we cooked mostly at home, but half of the dishes we came across had to be re-washed. There was honestly very obvious food still stuck on them. Ultimately we adopted the home, how it was decorated, location and view so much but the cleanliness was one of the worst I've stayed in before. I hope this can be resolved and I could visit again.

Stayed Apr 25, 2025We loved the house and location. Here are the pros and cons:ProsAmazing location and beautiful view Quiet and privateSpacious and well stocked with foil, baggies, salt, lots of dishes and cooking utensilsBeds and furniture were comfortableTowels were large and plentiful Appliances worked wellConsHousekeeping could be better. For example: the outdoor furniture was covered in bird poop. This wasn’t just a days worth of poop. It was heavy and caked on. We stayed two nights and once we cleaned the chairs up we did not come back outside to any poo so it clearly had been a while since they were cleaned up. There was a lot of dust/debris around the indoor fireplace, there were black hairs around the toilet and in the shower in the primary bathroom, the sliding door tracks in the primary bedroom were extremely dirty as was the flooring around the shower. The make-up towels need an upgrade as they are very worn. There were no instructions on what to do at checkout so we didn’t know if we should strip the beds and start laundry (assuming not given all the service fees)We could not figure out the main heat/AC and there were no instructions. Same with the speakers for the record player which was a bummer.Regarding the housekeeping, we did contact the property manager the day we arrived and were advised they would reach out to housekeeping. We cleaned up the problem areas and carried on with our weekend and would rent the house again.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969What a perfect place to spend time with my daughter, son-in-law, and two grandkids! Roomy, clean, lots of amenities! The crackling fire was awesome as we relaxed, did jigsaw puzzles, read, played games or…..just looked outside at the gorgeous view(s)! The outside fire area was perfect for cooking smores, roasting wieners, or simply drinking coffee! I cannot WAIT to visiting again! Barb Hunt ( Jessica’s mom!)

Stayed Sep 29, 2024Being at the bottom of mudbay was magical. A perfect place to spot at low tide seabirds and gulls. It is the perfect place to bring your spotting scope if you’re so inclined as well as a kayak to paddle around the bay. The house is incredibly well appointed with a wonderful kitchen and 180 views.

Stayed Sep 18, 2024The house is situated on a peaceful bay and between a nature preserve and row of other quiet cabins. We were a group of 4 adults and two kids (2&10) and we had plenty of room. The “kids room” is far from the other two rooms, which can be a positive or negative depending on your situation. Kitchen is fully stocked with any appliance or utensil one might need. Super cute mid-century furniture. We took advantage of the wood and fire pit one lovely night. The village is an easy 15 minute drive away for supplies and food. We did have two issues and both involved the door lock that some might want to be aware of. First, we couldn’t figure out a way to lock the main/back door so that the toddler couldn’t open it from the inside (a bit of a safety issue for us). Also, be aware that you can easily walk out that door and lock yourself out if you don’t have the code on you. Second, it seems that the door code changed on the second day but I wasn’t alerted. We had to contact support. (Make sure to share contact details for the house with all adults just in case your phone dies while you’re out!) Direct contact with the property owners rather than a third party management company that isn’t familiar with the house might have been helpful, but response was also prompt.

Stayed Jul 18, 2024The setting and view of the water was beautiful, the kitchen, dining room, and family room furniture were excellent, as well as the outside tables and adironack chairs by the firepit. I would suggest updating the bathrooms. The only problem we had was that we were unable to access Netflix, Prime, etc., on the master bedroom tv. The customer service people tried to help but we unable to fix it.
