Cons: Many, many things wrong here. Live, set mousetraps all over the house. Under the beds, furniture hadn't been cleaned in a very long time. House smelled of really old carpet. Washer was broken, constantly giving an error message which took 3x time to do a load. Internet service is awful, not strong enough to work from the property. 10-digit pin for entry is crazy overkill and annoying.Very cheap mattresses.Pros - beautiful location, living room and backà porch are lovely places to watch the morning fog roll in and out. With some TLC, this could be an amazing house.

This property worked well for us on our recent visit to Lopez Island. The beds were comfortable, the view was lovely and the setting was peaceful. The appliances were all in good working order and there was plenty of kitchen items, plus a full washer and dryer. The WiFi was stable. It was not fancy but it was quite homey. We had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend this property to others.

This home is very private with a glorious view of the bay. The title Mud Bay seemed kind of a put off, but we didn't experience any mud. It was hard not to spend a lot of time just watching the birds and the changing light on the bay. There are so many fascinating pictures and objects to admire. Our grandson loved looking at the music selections. All the appliances worked well and it was great to have a washer and drier. We'd like to come back some time in the future.

The large sunny yard and beach access were amazing. House is a bit outdated with older mattresses. Extremely small TV. No BBQ grill or fire pit. These small things won’t keep us from coming back. Had a great time and would recommend. Just remember it is a beach cabin.

The view from the front room and deck is unparalleled! This is a sweet property, quiet and comfortable although a bit dated. Well worth the visit.

We loved our stay. The area is beautiful and quiet. Bald eagles, a buck, birds, herons, and more in the backyard. A seal once, an otter once too! I would stay again. A very nice casual place. We packed in more than we needed. It had a drip coffee, but we brought K-cups because we weren't sure.

This is a very comfortable two-bedroom home/cabin with an extremely-well-equipped kitchen. Very quiet and private feel to the property, as there's no neighbor on one side (faces a marshy bayland) and plenty of greenery separating this property from the neighboring house on the other side. Beautiful view of Mud Bay (which is well-named - the shoreline is too muddy and soft for wading or swimming), and plenty of birds in the bay and on the lawn. You'll never want to leave the deck!

My family and I stayed at 57 Mud Bay for four nights over the 4th of July this summer and really enjoyed our experience! My extended family has been coming up to Lopez since the 70s and have a cabin on the peninsula, so we know the island quite well. I can say without reservation that 57 Mud Bay is an authentic Lopez experience, with the stunning view, surrounding flora and fauna, and general vibe you'd expect from the San Juan's crown jewel. The house itself is very comfortable, with ample space for a family of four, a spacious deck, and an absolute plethora of reading material. I was even able to scrounge up some children's books for my 4yo to read before bedtime after we forgot hers at home. Overall we loved it and would definitely stay again!
