The first in 2014, completed NisseHus is a modern, individual holiday home and distinctive in its kind.
Since our high quality construction and modern architecture were important from the beginning, our wooden house in Krumbach / Swabia was made in a small carpentry business, to be subsequently transported with three tractor-trailers to Norway. When interior design only high quality materials were used, such. Solid oak country house flooring, modern tile flooring, triple glazing, timelesssteel for the railing etc. We wanted our NisseHus modern and comfortable. That is why you will find in every room a change from wall coverings, sometimes white, sometimes coated color, sometimes large panels made from solid spruce.

The huge windows provide a view into the Norwegian nature and the NisseHus any time of day a pleasant atmosphere.

We were an extended family with three small children who were looking for a place to celebrate Christmas together in Norway. The Nissehus was an easy 3.5 hour drive from Oslo, good clear instructions for arrival. The house itself was beautifully located in a larger cabin area with pretty landscape and some small lakes. Christmas was unseasonably warm this year, so no snow on arrival, but it came down during our Christmas day breakfast to lovely effect. We took some little walks in the area, and had an outdoor bbq with hot dogs and cocoa around the fire pit provided, but unfortunately did not get to try out any of the skiing trails or local slopes. And the snow came down for full the night before we were to leave, absolutely gorgeous. The house itself was bright, spotless and well equipped on all fronts, bedding, kitchen, sauna. Lots of space both inside and outside for all of us. Great views from the kitchen table which became our natural gathering place. Excellent communication with Harald both prior to and during our stay. I can see that it would be a lovely place to stay during the summer as well. Highly recommended!

My family and I (2 adults, 3 children under 11) stayed at the NisseHus between Christmas and New Year 2015/2016. We had a fantastic time on our first visit to Norway. The property is very comfortable and spacious, with modern facilities (good kitchen and bathroom and very large lounge / dining area). The wood-burning stove in the main lounge area is very efficient, and heats up very quickly. We arrived in heavy snow and the whole house was warm in less than 1 hour just by using the wood-burning stove, which when it has reached a good heat, can be turned down to burn slowly and still maintain a very good warmth. The sauna was also very nice. The Gautefall ski resort is less than 1 hour away (even on very snowy roads), and this was an excellent way for us to introduce our children to skiing, and we visited the ski resort 3 times. The area around the house is excellent for walking and exploring the surrounding area. There were frozen waterfalls and lakes, and lots of deep snow when we visited, making the scenery very attractive. We visited from the UK, and flew to Stavanger airport. During the winter I would recommend driving via the south coastal roads (E39 and then E18), as they are faster roads and less snowy if coming from Stavanger. The drive took about 5 hours on these roads, which we took on the way back, and more like 6 hours on the way there through the forests and the smaller, snowy roads - however the scenery was breath-taking on this route. Overall I would thoroughly recommend the NisseHus as a place to stay with a young family if you are looking for a self-catering holiday with some beautiful scenery, walking in the snow, and access to a ski resort suitable for beginners. I would recommend getting a 4-wheel drive car if you are planning to visit in the winter, as we found this a very safe way to drive the snowy roads, and it ensured we had good grip when driving up steeper roads. The shop in Felle was very friendly and useful, and only 5 minutes drive away. We also used the Eurospar in Brokelandsheia for a larger shop on our first day, which lasted us for most of the week (about 40 minutes drive away). It is truly a magical spot, and we were very lucky that the snow arrived just before we did, helping to create a real 'Winter Wonderland' experience.

Myself and a group of friends stayed at Nisse Hus for a weekend. We were in Norway for another friends wedding and could not have found a better place to stay. The whole cabin was clean and beautifully furnished. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return in the future.

We have spent a wonderful week with our family in this marvelous house in Havrefjell (a nice park not far from Felle). The house is not only very nice and excellently equipped. It is also solid in all senses and smartly built. It is a great place to stay, regardless of the weather. We have had the luck of having both very sunny days and hard (summer)rain: so we could make use of all the great facilities. The kids enjoyed their own sleeping room and play area at the upper floor and they will never forget their adventure on their own lake, just a few steps from the house. Definitely highly recommended !
