Lexington, Virginia
Michie Shire is a privately owned property in Lexington, VA. Just 3 miles from the center of town and the campuses of VMI and W&L University. It includes 17 rolling acres with a lovingly restored 1930's farmhouse. The house is 1800 sq feet plus a semi-finished basement. Amazing views of the Allegheny and Blue Ridge mountains can be seen from the wraparound porch. There is as little to do or as much as you'd like to do locally and in the surrounding area. We know you'll enjoy your stay!
The property was perfect for our family Christmas gathering.
Loved the location. Very peaceful. Super clean.
We were in town for a wedding and the house was perfect for our family to enjoy time together in between events
Everything was wonderful! It exceeded our expectations! We are hoping to stay again!
Lovely setting for our family to bbq. We also enjoyed spending time around the dining room table playing a card game. Perfect get away for our family.
Very quiet, comfprtable farm house located in the beautiful area of Lexington, VA. We loved the fact that we could watch the sunset over the Blue Ridge Mountains and gaze at the stars at night. We all enjoyed our stay!
This is a lovely house, very well supplied and in a beautiful rural setting. It’s a great location for Lexington and all the Natural Bridge attractions. The owner was very responsive and pleasant to deal with. We hope to go back!
This house and property were a perfect place for past college roommates to reconnect. We enjoyed sunsets on the deck, s’mores around the fire pit, morning conversations in the comfy living room with coffee, walks to visit the neighborhood cows, and everything about how the house was set up! The beds were comfortable and the house well appointed with games and any kitchen items you might need. Conveniently located just 10 minutes from Lexington’s historic downtown, but far enough away to feel truly in the VA countryside, it fit all of our needs for a weekend retreat!
Our family had a great visit over the Thanksgiving weekend. The home was nicely updated, very clean, and with beautiful property/views. We enjoyed seeing all the farm animals. The stars were amazing! Although a gas grill was available, my husband loved having the firepit grill to cook some of our meals. Two things to note that we didn't expect... 1. The property is 17 acres, but all but about one of them is cow pasture. Certainly not a big deal, but just an fyi if you were expecting more land to be able to explore. We didn't feel comfortable to go in the fenced pasture since the cows were very skittish and we didn't want to make them nervous. 2. Three of the twin beds are pull-outs that are shorter than a normal twin. Also not a big deal for most people, but they were too short for my kids who are 6+ ft. But overall we had a wonderful time and would stay again!
Very comfortable, clean, and well equipped. We would be happy to use it again.
Robin's home is the perfect retreat outside of Lexington. 5 stars!
Highly recommend this beautiful home and serene setting. We were so relaxed and enjoyed sunrises, sunsets, and star gazing. We didn’t want to leave and will return.
Property is awesome.
Robin was an extremely professional and courteous host. The home was very nice and clean. Well stocked kitchen. Comfortable beds. A very roomy home. We will definitely return.
Everything about the property was wonderful. We really enjoyed our stay.
A great fit for a visit to share a high school graduation celebration. We had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and fun.
