Mampoo Hill-- a Beachfront House 20 Yards from the Ocean with optional Jeep

This place is AMAZING!! My first word when I stepped in the house was OMG. House is is so open, view is amazing, just breath taking. House is clean, well decorated, (I love Ms. Kasper's Painting), kitchen has all utensil you need and the Weber grill. Beds are very comfortable, the air conditioners kicks in right away. We just sat on the lounge chair listening the ocean sound, sunset is gorgeous, we gaze stars at night... The house is very secluded so nobody or nothing to bother you, We snorkel a couple of times around other end of the beach, we saw nursing shark, school of squids, one turtle and tons of colorful fish. Less than 10 min to Cruz bay, supermarkets and 15-25 minutes to major beaches. Communication with the local caretaker Craig and Jennifer was great, and We recommend to rent a jeep which comes with the house. Craig met us at the parking by ferry station, drove the Jeep, and drop off the Jeep at the same parking when we left. Super convenient! I just love love love this place. Loved the scenic view, Banana Quit birds & sunsets! Snorkeling from beach near brown rock was spectacular!! We didn’t realize Mampoo Hill was “open air” w/only AC in the 2 bedrooms. The electricity on the island was completely out for 24 hours & no generator made it more like camping for a day! However the Jungle juice worked excellent, but still got quite a few bites as bugs love me! Jeep was great value & ran well for a 2018. It got us around the island but is in dire need of tires all around for safety purposes. Enjoyed our stay!

It is a very beautiful, well furnished and comfortable house, with gorgeous views and a short path to a secluded cove. We really enjoyed our stay - just lovely.

The hosts were great to work with and picked us up right at the ferry parking lot. The Jeep we rented from them was great and worked perfect to get us around the island. The house is amazing with incredible views everywhere you look. Master bedroom was nice with cool AC, a comfortable bed, and great bath layout with 2 vanities and plenty of closet space. Thank you Candace, Jennifer and Craig for a great stay!

Fantastic house. Great view and falling asleep to the ocean waves at night was amazing. Stay on top of the jungle juice or learn the hard way mosquitoes are legitimately coming for you.

We loved Mampoo Hill house. The open format of the house and the gorgeous view were amazing! We had everything we needed there. The rocky beach just below the house was beautiful and we snorkeled in the bay just down the beach. Loved it!

My husband and two teenage boys just got back from a week at Mampoo Hill. We had an amazing time staying at this gorgeous and unique house. The pictures don't even do it justice. The views from every part of the house are breathtaking and the house was clean and well stocked. We took advantage of the jeep which made our day trips much easier. Parking around the island was quite an experience but worked out. ;) Candice's artwork added to the overall beauty of the house. What a fantastic place to relax with my family. We hiked, snorkeled and loved the recommended restaurants. We hope to be back someday! Thank you for allowing us to stay in your home!

Holiday family vacation was so much fun especially due to the location of this home on St John

What an absolutely stunningay, or a solo trip if you're looking for some peace and quiet aand mind-blowing

This is a 2 bedroom property but me and my husband were looking for a special property for our 30th wedding anniversary so did not have any other couples join us. And we nailed it with this one! Everything was perfect for what we were looking for. We rented the jeep and that made it super easy and convenient on arrival aWnd departure. The property was so beautiful and the critters of Mampoo Hill we entertaining to watch. The location is convenient for getting to Cruz Bay (can be to the ferry in 7 minutes) and other nearby beaches. We cooked in a few times and there is plenty of utensils and pots and pans to cook any meal and the grill was in great shape for grilling steaks our first night. We used the hot tub everyday and it was great for mornings and evenings. We had hired a photographer to capture some pictures to remember our special trip and had planned to go to another beach but the property was so beautiful and was so special for us we decided to have them take the photos there on the deck and down by the beach. Can't wait to see how they turned out. We will rebook the property the next time we stay on St John, which hopefully will be sooner rather than later.

We absolutely loved our time at Mampoo Hill. The sunset views were amazing. The house was very clean and well kept. Pictures don't do justice. Jennifer & Craig were great to work with and we really enjoyed seeing all of Candice's art work around the house. We can't wait to return to St Johns and plan on booking this home again when we do.

This beautiful home exceeded our expectations. Awesome open concept home with a private, air conditioned bedroom on both sides of the common areas. Beautiful views and only a few steps from the shore. Clean, well stocked and maintained. 5 stars! Local support staff was awesome and available to address any issues. Highly recommended.

Mampoo Hill will go down as one of—if not THE—most extraordinary vacation properties we’ve ever experienced. The house is fun and well maintained, but words don’t do the scene, view, privacy, and lusciousness of the property justice. All the caveats shared by other reviewers are accurate—there are an abundance of no see ems, island life is unpredictable (power outages were a thing during our stay), etc—and this isn’t a “luxury” property in terms of sheer creature comforts, so go in with your eyes open. But we loved it and would definitely stay again! The owner and caretakers are fab, the jeep was great, and we are feeling very lucky to have spent 9 days in this special place.
