Stayed Dec 22, 2025I can't say enough about this property and would rate Malindi Villa with 6 stars if I could. The VRBO photos show exactly what you're getting: a unique, well-maintained villa with incredible views, gorgeous grounds, a large lovely pool and 3 air-conditioned bedrooms including a private suite with separate entrance on the lower level. It was perfect for our family of 5 adults. John (the owner) and his brother Neil (the caretaker) were concerned, responsive hosts. They even provided us a homemade rum cake as well as a bottle of Tobago rum, fresh fruit, milk, cheese, and other staples upon check in. The kitchen is well-stocked, so we prepared a few of our own meals but also took advantage of the chance to order breakfast and lunches (home cooked and delivered by a friendly local couple) and dined out at Cafe Havana at the Bacolet Beach Club (1 mile away) and at the Seahorse Restaurant at Black Rock Bay (a 20-minute drive). A rental car is essential as Malindi Villa is at the end of a residential road at Bacolet Point about 20 minutes from the airport. We took a few excursions during our weeklong stay to hike at Argyle Falls, visit Pigeon Point beach, and explore the nearby Fort King George in Scarborough - but mostly enjoyed lounging by the pool, relaxing with a book in the gazebo or on the veranda overlooking Bacolet Bay, and taking daily walks through the surrounding neighborhood and along the unoccupied beach close by at Minister Bay. Don't hesitate to book your stay here!

Stayed Aug 3, 2025John & Neil (brothers & hosts) couldn’t have been more hospitable or more welcoming. On arrival, you immediately feel this is the perfect start to your holiday. House is spacious, the views incredible and every possible need catered for. The local Rum & Rum punch and humungous avocados and essential basics provided were such a lovely touch, even the bathrooms had new toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap and other bits, incase you’ve forgotten yours. The pool was big & the perfect temperature for swimming morning, day or night. If you’re not swimming or enjoying the view, plenty of books, games and excellent TV channels provided. The villa has its own small orchard where large lemons and beautiful mangos are grown. Couple of essential facts to be shared:- Car is essential, location is idyllic but remote - WiFi excellent - Beach towels are provided- Air conditioning in bedrooms excellent, lounge has fans but can get humid.- Buy bread in the morning, supermarkets do run out later in the day- Local great restaurant, Havana (fish soup fantastic!)- Drink bottled water- Bug spray essentialThank you John & Neil, your home was beautiful, every possible need catered for and my family and I had the most wonderful, relaxing week!

Stayed Jan 21, 2025Excellence is the one word which truly describes every aspect of spending time in Malindi Villa. The location is a perfect base to explore Tobago while enjoying outstanding sea views. The property itself is spacious, tastefully furnished and equipped to a very high standard with every conceivable need catered for. The friendly professional management of the villa by the host is also to the same standard. Always ready to help and absolutely nothing is to much trouble. 10

Stayed Dec 31, 1969First impressions upon arrival were the southing sounds of waves crashing and birds chirping through the darkness followed by the pleasant feel of the villa's dark hardwood floor under your feet (The excellent condition of this no doubt aided by the shoes off preference of the owner John). The anticipated view that had to wait until morning did not disappoint and, although I cannot comment on the air-conditioning which was negated by the cooling sea breezes through the night, I can state the facilities on offer were more than adequate for my short stay. The main reason for my short visit to Tobago was to partake in some relaxing golf and I can recommend few better ways to finish a day of fine Caribbean golfing other than sliding back with an icy drink into one of the hardwood plantation chairs overlooking the Atlantic from Malindi’s wrap-around balcony. All in all the property has everything to recommend it to those looking for a quiet getaway and is within reasonable driving distance of Scarborough if something a bit more lively is required. I can also recommend the Plantations Golf Course on the opposite side of Scarborough bay for those interested in such things.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Malindi is a real getaway from it all type place and ticked many boxes for me in its offering of seclusion, vistas and most importantly total comfort. There are many things to like about this colonial style property but my number one favourite thing I think was reclining on one of the easy chairs on the extensive verandah, drinking rum while listening to the gentle chirping of the numerous species of birds frequenting the grounds; those sounds were accompanied by the sounds of the gentle crash of waves breaking on the nearby shore; even watching the ever changing cloud formations rolling by proved endlessly fascinating especially around sunrise and sunset. Although i was part of a small group, i can imagine even a larger group would still be able to find their moments of privacy throughout the large property and grounds especially as there are numerous areas of comfortable seating to be found. And of course when the time is right, getting together to enjoy meals, drinks and good company in the extensive lounge with its high ceilings and beautifiul dark wood furniture could not be bettered. Although Malindi is positioned in a quiet location, it is closely located to all expected amenities such as excellent restaurants serving local food and importantly to me access to stunning local golf courses which I found very affordable. When a more varied evening was needed the main town of Scarborough was not that far away and provided many opportunties to experience Tobago nightlife. I found Malindi to be very clean and well-maintained throughout and there were lots of little touches like the provision of bathroom shower kits, numerous towels, an extensive bookshelf of books along with good access to electronics such as wi-fi and tv channels etc. I met the owner John who impressed me with his enthusiasm to make sure my stay was as comfortable as possible. I was sorry to leave but I know I will be back to experience more of what Malindi had to offer.
