Machrie View - a lodge that sleeps 8 guests in 4 bedrooms

We had a fabulous stay at Machrie View. It is in a great location, very well equipped, spacious and fantastic for entertaining.

beautiful location the airport was a bonus as we could watch the planes land and take off. lovely rooms with comfy beds and beautiful interior design. a lovely house to stay at for a few nights.

This was an excellent spot to explore the island. Spotless accommodation with comfy beds, powerful showers, and great communal space. Highly recommended

Great property and views.

Overall we were happy with the property. The location was central and we enjoyed watching the activity at the airport. Our negatives are minor but would make a difference and proffered to help, not complain. -For the price we would have expected a welcome basket even if just bread, milk, and some local biscuits. -There are Loads of glasses but a limited number of (and small) cups. Could also do with egg cups. -The exterior could be better landscaped and building materials moved from the outside to make the property look finished. - A visitor book would be helpful where guests could write comments. -We arrived on a very warm day. The level of heat in the bathrooms, particularly, was extreme. Opening a window helped but that felt so wasteful! We needed some instructions on the exterior lights which we couldn’t control. So lights were unnecessarily on throughout the night.

Our first trip to Islay which is a beautiful island. This property is lovely and is situation in a very convenient location with a stunning view. The property is of a high standard, equipped with everything you might want or need.

Generally we had a lovely weekend staying at Machrie View. The beds and sofa are very comfortable and the views from the kitchen out over the island are beautiful. We liked watching the little planes land and take off and there is no airport noise. There were a few areas with room for improvement. The house is very hot all the time, we constantly were needing the windows open and with a strong wind outside we had to be careful to stop doors slamming. Some of the windows wouldn’t open. The outside of the home is quite cluttered and a bit more tired than the photos suggest. We had a few issues with cleaning materials missing and a broken front door handle but the manager of the property did address these issues promptly.

This property exceeded our expectations. The view was stunning and the property was beautifully decorated and extremely well equipped.

The peace and quiet made it the ideal getaway, allowing us to truly relax and unwind. After a hard days whisky tastings and exploring the island. The accommodation itself was beautifully furnished, with every detail thoughtfully considered for comfort and style. It felt like a home away from home, yet with a touch of luxury. From start to finish, our experience was exceptional, and we’re already counting down the days until we can return. If you’re looking for a serene, picturesque escape on Islay, The Machrie View is the place to be! Highly recommended—we can’t wait to come back .

Book for the week of the Feis for 6 of us. Really impressed with the accommodation. Everything was immaculate. Lovely views of the sea. Not for from Port Ellen for supplies.

Great location for our holiday weekend. Excellent property with everything you require. Perfect view for plane watching and beach nearby for dog walks. Good time had by all!

Machrie view is an ideal property . Location is ideal . Amazing views. The house is very well equipped. Spacious both inside and out. Cleanliness is to a high standard. We would highly recommend this property for a wonderful stay on Islay.

The building is less than a year old so in very good condition and has been designed with comfort in mind. The kitchen and relaxing areas are fantastic and have everything you could possibly need for adult groups or young children alike regardless of the weather outside. The rooms have loads of space and the beds are very comfortable - it feels luxurious. Like every rental, there is a hint of Ikea DIY with some of the furniture especially items that haven't been built properly (drawers etc) but the large and practical bathrooms and living spaces more than make up for it. Plenty space for 6 cars and laydown area for sporting equipment outside, there is a parameter fence and hopefully there will be a gate when we return next year so our dog can roam free without chasing the sheep! A+ holiday rental compared to others on Islay we've stayed in over the past 15 years, we're already booked for next year.

We spent 3 nights here as a group of 7 and everything was just wonderful. The rooms were spacious, beds were comfortable, the house was so clean and modern. We all agreed it was a fantastic place to stay and absolutely perfect for our needs.

The stay was really extremely pleasant. The house is perfectly furnished and offers everyone a great experience. We would recommend it to friends at any time and come back ourselves.
