Luxury Ocean Bluff Home, Hot Tub, Pet-Friendly

Our two-month stay at Abalone Bay in Sea Ranch was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment Jordan and I arrived, we were blown away by the incredible ocean views and the cozy, thoughtful amenities that made the house feel instantly like home. ​What truly set this experience apart, however, was our host, Donna. She is by far the most attentive and accommodating host I’ve ever experienced. She truly thought of absolutely everything, anticipating our needs before we even realized we had them. Her dedication to ensuring our comfort made our extended stay incredibly relaxing and seamless. ​If you are looking for a peaceful, beautifully appointed retreat on the coast, look no further. We cannot recommend Abalone Bay and Donna's unmatched hospitality highly enough!

Spent 6 beautiful sunny days at Sea Ranch Abalone Bay. Daily temperatures ranged from 62 to 70 degrees with moderate winds. All of which is unusual for March. Spectacular weather for our dog, Bear, to take us on walks on the bluff just outside the house. Watched whales spouting while sitting in the living room enjoying a glass of Convene Pinot Noir. This week, Abalone Bay offered a quiet kind of magic.

Our host, Donna, was the best. She was in contact in a timely fashion always, answered questions and the house met all our needs! It is a lovely house and the views…. Well you must see them!

This was our first time staying in Sea Ranch, and it was absolutely beautiful. Donna’s home was lovely, very clean, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed to cook meals and feel comfortable throughout our stay. The location truly can’t be beat-just a few steps from the house is a stunning coastal walking trail that stretches for miles and offers breathtaking views. One of our favorite parts of the stay was how comfortable the beds and linens were. There’s nothing worse than renting a vacation home only to find uncomfortable beds, so we were thrilled to sleep so well. Donna was also extremely attentive and responsive. We had a small issue getting into the house initially, and she was quick to help-everything was resolved smoothly with no stress. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend Donna’s home to anyone visiting Sea Ranch.

Took advantage of Abalone Bay’s peaceful calm to aid in wife’s recovery after major surgery. She needed to get away from all that was associated with it and Abalone Bay helped to do that. The sounds and sights of the ocean coupled with the Christmas decorated home provided the environment needed for rest and recuperation. It also provides plenty of activity for Bear, our dog, to burn off his excess energy so he, too, is calm. Abalone Bay is where we go when we need to get away from it all.

Property was wonderful for our dogs. Rooms are spacious. There were tons of board games. And the view was amazing.

This was our second time staying at Abalone Bay and it did not disappoint. The property is clean and inviting and has anything you may need. Beautiful garden with hot tub sitting just steps from the ocean trails. Will definitely return!

We had a lovely stay and Donna was incredibly accommodating and responsive at every turn. She went out of her way, on the same day we came in, to leave a cute little dolphin plushie and a baby shirt from Gualala (I had mentioned we're expecting). The home was spotless, the primary view unbelievable, and the home well-stocked.There was some construction going on next-door, which was perhaps a tad less peaceful/private, but that's not the fault of the host. That aside we'd definitely stay here again.

The communication was excellent! Kitchen had all the necessary items needed and more! Hot Tub was a good size and in great condition. Living area was great for watching tv in the evenings. So many great things about this house! We will most likely be back!Thank you Donna and Jorge for letting us stay at this wonderful place!!! It was much appreciated!!!

Abalone Bay was perfect for our family of 6 including our young adult children and our dog. We've been to Sea Ranch many times and this house was by far the best, for many reasons: location and view, light, and setup for a family and couples. The view from the living room was amazing- a cypress tree and the ocean with sufficient privacy from those walking by the ocean. The enclosed courtyard was perfect for our dog to go outside safely. We spent our time on the trails and playing games in the living room. Very tastefully decorated too. Donna is very helpful and responsive. I am mobility impaired and while the house is not formally ADA, it met my needs well as someone who uses a walker and wheelchair and has help- ask if you need more details. All in all, a wonderful, peaceful time and we would love to return.

This was our second stay at Abalone Bay and it was as enjoyable as the first visit. The home was plenty spacious for our family of 5 adults and one golden retriever. We were fortunate to see whales, deer, seals and a fox all on the ocean bluff just outside the home. This home is not your typical vacation rental, it is extremely well cared for, every home need is in place and it is so comfortable. We look forward to returning!

Sea Ranch Abalone Bay is a the place to go if you need to unwind. It is a great place to commune with nature. Had great weather for our stay at Abalone Bay allowing for whale spotting while walking Bear, our dog, along the seaside bluff. Took advantage of Donna's (owner) suggestion and attended the Gualala Art Festival. It presented arts and crafts from local artists including some talented individuals. Saw several pods of spouting whales while sitting outside on the new Adirondack chairs. They were harder to spot this time because they were mostly out on the horizon. We also saw a deceased large female humpback on the rocks near walk on beach. That was sad. As of our leaving the cause of death had not yet been determined. Sea Ranch is not known for it's fine dining so we ate in several nights bringing some prepared meals with us. Abalone Bay has everything needed to prepare and serve meals just like home. Had dinner at Pier Place in Point Arena. Tried the Rockfish tacos this time which were great. Just another great time for us and our dog, Bear at Sea Ranch.

My husband and I, along with our daughter, son-in-law, and their 2 young children spent a wonderful 6 days at Abalone Bay. The property was so thoughtfully stocked- from all the available kitchen equipment and spices, the shampoo and conditioners in the baths, down to the blankets for the chilly evenings- that we wanted for little. The views from the living room were simply amazing! We also loved spending time in the spacious outdoor area, all enclosed so that our 2 year old grandson could run around safely. The daily walks along the beautiful rugged coastline were a welcome change from the summer heat of Chicago and Pasadena. We will definitely be back! Thank you for making our stay so relaxing!

If you need to unwind, there is no better place than Sea Ranch. And if you are looking for a place to stay, Abalone Bay ticks all the boxes. Located on the bluff, the home provides quick access to about 8 miles of oceanside walking trails. It comes fully equipped with everything you’ll need for your stay and it is dog friendly. The owner provides a guidebook that lists things to do, places to eat, area current events, and other information regarding how to use everything the home.

The property’s location is unbeatable to relax with calming views all around. It is also well stocked with all the luxury amenities to make one feel truly pampered. We found ourselves reaching for the guidebook often as it is a great resource to explore local activities. Donna and Jorge are great hosts and were always available to ensure we had the best experience!

Daily short walk along the trail to watch the Harbor Seals frolick in the clear waters near their sun-basking peers. Champagne at sunset every night. Daily drive into Gualala to visit cute shops and get dinner fixings at Surf Market. Morning swim and sauna at Ohlson rec center - make reservations for swim lane online in advance. Great hot tub in the private backyard. Ping pong in the garage. House is fully equipped for cooking at home, we hardly ever dine elsewhere, although we like to grab to-go meals at Trinks, Two Fishes and Upper Crust pizza.

This is the third year we have stayed at Abalone Bay, sharing the house with another couple. It is a splendid home, beautifully furnished, with a well-equipped kitchen that one can actually cook in, and an ideal location yards from the sea bluff trail. The house is thoughtfully appointed and extremely well maintained. The owners are immediately responsive to any concerns that may arise during your stay. Excellent...highly recommended.

What a comfortable home! Everything one needs to feel at home. Extremely well equipped and easy. Great location near seal hangout and we were visited by fox and deer. Walk right out to the bluff trail. Husband and his brother loved the ping pong table on rainy days.

Abalone Bay has become our favorite place to stay in Sea Ranch. To start with, it allows dogs and has a fenced in area for them to play. Our dog loves coming back. Beyond being a great place for dog lovers, it is located right on the bluff trail, has great views of the ocean for whale watching, and has a very well equipped kitchen with just about anything you need while staying there. Donna, the owner, provides a professionally done guide book that suggests where to eat, hike, fish, go for entertainment, and answers questions regarding operating anything in the house. One of the most important things to us is that although it allows dogs, the home is very clean with no dog smells.

Beautiful property with expansive, excellent views. The home is very well laid out with plenty of room for all of us. The furnishings are both comfortable and modern. The patio and hot tub area is very nicely landscaped and immaculate. Our little beagle Daisy also enjoyed the views and walks. It was perfect even with some rain.

The house is immaculate, stocked with everything you could possibly need, overlooking the ocean. Completely stocked kitchen with fancy gadgets, hot hot tub, comfortable furniture/beds, fabulous master shower. Steps from a bluff side trail that goes for miles and miles of scenic coastline. Stay and I'm sure you'll be back, as will we!

Great house and terrific location. Had our dogs with us and very easy to have them there. There’s a great dog park to give them a lot of running. House was equipped with everything you need and more. We had a week of great weather so walking and exploring was great would recommend this property whole heartedly

The property was everything that was promised. From the moment we walked in to see the stunning coastal sunset, we were amazed by the beauty of not only the view but also the home’s decor, architecture and amenities. No detail was missed. Our host Donna went above and beyond to make sure our stay was exceptional and her communication was always clear and friendly. Even though it rained a lot the first day, we found puzzles and games galore to enjoy our time together. As we explored the sights around Sea Ranch, we especially loved visiting the historic Lodge and unique Chapel, eating at Vue Kitchen, shopping in Gualala, and hiking down to Bowling Ball Beach. Wow! So much beauty to be found in Sea Ranch. This Abalone Bay Home will forever be a favorite vacation spot and place to stay!

This house is beautiful, the property is as well. Right on the coast, exactly as pictured. It’s about a 40-60 minute lovely walk to the lodge for coffee and snacks- the trail along the water at Sea Ranch is one of the best parts! Donna, the host, was extremely responsive and has been wonderful - we left something important at the house and she helped locate it and get it back to us. Will definitely be coming back!

There is nothing that Donna hasn't thought of AND provided at Abalone Bay. Staying here for the weekend with our family and our dogs was as comfortable as it would be if this were our own vacation home. Not kidding, the kitchen is better equipped than our kitchen at home; the decor is perfect for Sea Ranch, the location is beautiful, and every thing we needed for our weekend was here for us when we arrived. We have stayed at more than a few places in Sea Ranch, and this is the one we will use exclusively from now on. Really, really nice. And Donna was gracious and available for anything we needed (nothing!), and her instructions and online guide for Abalone Bay are complete and extremely useful. Overall grade: A

Abalone Bay was the most wonderful home I've stayed in - the ocean views, the proximity to the bluff trail, the gorgeous interior and setup, and Donna's proactive communication were all well beyond expectations. I can't recommend this home enough and hope to return in the very near future. We are so grateful Donna shared her home with us!

This home could not have been better - the views, location, the interior, the setup, the communication - all perfect. It had everything we needed and more, was incredibly well-stocked, and the location on the bluff with its views and proximity to the trail could not have been better. Donna is the best communicator I've ever worked with as well!

Our four-night stay was a superb, relaxing getaway at a five-star property. Everything was top-of-the-line, from bedding and furniture to appliances and audio-visual equipment. We even played some ping-pong! Donna was wonderfully communicative and accommodating, and the downloadable guide book was detailed to a fault, yet easy to search. Highly recommend!

Right on the water. Easy to cook. Hot tub nice and night. Beautiful- great walks all around. Highly commend.
