We picked it for Cal Poly family weekend and bring the dogs without bothering anyone. It was perfect. It is a trek, especially at night since there are no lights and it’s tough to read instructions if you’re driving alone. Lol But, it was perfect… short drive to campus and downtown. We heard and saw coyotes, birds of prey…outdoor set up was great too. Would book again.
Remote location affords a peaceful stay. House was reasonably equipped, including propane grill not mentioned in listing. Not the best sleeping situation for seniors as the only bathroom upstairs is in master bedroom for the 5 beds upstairs. The main downstairs bathroom is also the pass through to the back yard. Works but peculiar. Nevertheless, the rental worked well for our friends gathering.
This was an exceptional find! Beautiful location, peaceful and serene. Very enjoyable for the entire family!
Unique property and experience. Couldn’t pick a better place for our family getaway. In the middle of no where while being close to the best of SLO at the same time. Will be booking again. Thank you Chuck:)
Awesome views
We rented the home for a Christmas holiday get-together with our Northern California family and Southern California family. It was wonderfully comfortable and had everything we needed. Our hosts even had the house decorated for the holiday, which was a real treat! I especially appreciated the kitchen, which is well stocked with dishes and cookware. Overall peaceful and wonderful. Thanks so much for the attention to detail!
There were a total of 6 of us that stayed at this Vrbo and we all absolutely loved it! The property is meticulously maintained and there's so much of their family history in the way of furnishings, photos and books to explore. We walked around on the property and took full advantage of the outdoor seating and firepit. The location is just a couple minutes outside of SLO so it was easy to all go into town one night for a dinner celebration. All in all it's a fabulous location and a Vrbo hidden gem.
Super impressive property that makes you feel like you far away from the city. Quiet, so peaceful and spacious. Loved seeing the wild turkeys, quails and deers.
There is a long dirt road to get to the house but once there you likely will not want to leave! We enjoyed the serene setting and all the wildlife (we saw lots of deer, turkeys and hawks). The house was big enough for our family to spread out (there were 9 of us - including 3 teenage boys). Lots of opportunities for walks and sweeping vistas. We explored the hills and then did some day trips to the coast. The kitchen is fully equipped with plenty of cookware. The one kind of funky thing is that the easiest way to get to the back patio (which is fabulous) is through the downstairs bathroom. We just made it a rule that if the door was closed then you walked around. We used the bbq for ribs and chicken - and we (carefully) had a fire in the evenings. I say this because the conditions are very dry. On the one evening we had some wind, we opted not to light the fire as a precaution. All in all, a wonderful place to hang out with family and friends. Although there is a lot to do in the area - you just may opt to stay put!
Nice to be out of downtown, yet 10 minutes and we were downtown for a wedding. The house was perfect for our weekend. Looking forward to staying again.
Beautiful house. This home has everything you need, amazing kitchen, plenty of room for socializing and eating, bedrooms are roomy and beds are comfy. Communication with owner is amazing, they attended to our every need. Read other reviews to learn about house layout, it's somewhat unique--we made it work. Just a few notes: everything is a bit dated (we didn't mind); a few spots need serious dusting (easy fix?); we had a few hot days and even with all the fans, it was hard to get any sleep. That was rough. I still think it's a 5-star experience, really good value. Wish I had something like it for my family get-togethers.
I came here with my friends for a little Bachelorette getaway! We’re all in our 30s so we were excited to relax and enjoy some bonding time. This was the perfect place to do so! The mist rolled across the hills for some epic photo ops! We sat outside to enjoy the views and turkey calls. Plenty of space to lounge and relax. Perfect for a chill weekend with friends or family!
