Lisheen House is a large modern spacious house covering three levels that can cater for large crowds comfortably. The kitchen dining and sunken living room is all one area and covers over half of the ground floor area. Also on the ground floor there are two spacious bedrooms with queen beds. One has a full ensuite and the other has a small washroom with sink and toilet. The next level which is again built on concrete floors for safety and noise reduction boasts an extra spacious living room with cut stone fireplace and a very large panoramic window with views of Galway Bay and the Burren hills. Sun light is a large feature in this room and is a great place to relax with a glass of wine and browse through some of the many books that are provided. Both living rooms have 54 flat screen tv's with seperate satellite controls. The main bathroom and two more bedrooms are also on this level. One is twin and the other has a queen bed with its own ensuite. The upper level has another twin and double bedroom and a wash room with toilet and sink. The house sleeps 12 in total but we can provide two extra folding beds at an extra charge. The house is centrally heated throughout and during the colder times , we provide wood for the open fires in both living areas. However, we do charge extra for the utilities which are oil and electricity. These are paid for prior to leaving so that way you only pay for what you use, which is the fairest system.
All our fixtures and fittings are to a very high standard and we continually strive to maintain a high quality in the house.
The house is located midway between the beautiful coastal villages of Ballyvaughan in Co. Clare and Kinvarra in Co. Galway with an approximate distance of six miles to each village. Both villages offer a good choice of shops, restaurants ,pubs and craft fair and a farmers market is held one day a week in each village. However we are very lucky at Lisheen House to have a highly rated pub and restaurant that specialises in sea food only a few hundred yards from our door.
The local fishermans wife Martina , runs a small fish shop on the pier behind the pub offering a selection of fresh shell fish every day and at weekends she has a slection of other fish such as seabass ,salmon ,plaice etc. A short distance from the pub is an art gallery and pottery shop where the pottery is made. One of the owners had her origins in Italy and offers for sale a choice of organic wines and food imported from Italy and mostly produced by her own family.
Within a half mile from the house is an area called 'The Flaggy Shore'. Here you have a small sandy beach , ideal for swimming and the start of a fabulous walking route along The Flaggy Shore where you can do a three mile loop taking the scenery of Galway Bay and passing by Lough Murree, a small fresh water lake , home to swans , ducks and other bird life and yet is only seperated from the sea by not much more than 100 feet of land. The house is ideally located for taking in all the scenery and attractions Clare and the surrounding counties have to offer. Galway , the City of the Tribes and the market town of Ennis are less than a forty minute drive while Shannon International Airport and Bunratty Medieval Castle and Folk Park are just an hour away.

What a cute place to stay for our fall trip to Ireland. This was a perfect place during our time in the west. Quite centrally located if your goal is to hit several places in the west over a several days stay. The place is huge! I can imagine family vacations or multi family groups. Everything you are going to need in the kitchen. Charming.

This is an outstanding property. We were 9 guests and there were more than adequate bedrooms, bathrooms and living spaces. The vistas from every corner of the house and the proximity to great restaurants, sightseeing and Galway City made for a wonderful vacation. Seamus is the consummate host. His communication and desire to ensure everyone was satisfied was much appreciated. We can’t wait to return for another family gathering.

Excellent property - spacious, well equipped & great location. The fact that you've got one of the best seafood restaurants just 100m walk down to the pier, and a swimming beach nearby makes it all the more special. Recommended.

The house itself is gorgeous, well-maintained, and equipped with everything we needed. The host was incredibly responsive and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for comfort and convenience!

We had a wonderful extended family vacation over the Thanksgiving holiday and this house and location could not be beat! Seamus was a gracious host and very easy to work with, and even had a fire lit for us upon arrival. The location is idyllic with Galway Bay within walking distance and centrally located as a home base for many adventures in the surrounding areas. The house was clean and well equipped, perfect for our family with multiple living spaces and plenty of bedrooms. And the views were phenomenal! Would definitely stay again!

The property is in an ideal location for visiting the west coast and many of the wonderful sights Ireland has to offer. Host was amazing! We were welcomed with great detail and warmth. Family almost wanted to stay in rather than go explore as the house is amazing inside and out. If you’re planning a trip with a large family, this is the property for you.

We had a wonderful time at Séamus’ home. It was a beautiful cottage with fantastic views. It was super spacious having two large living rooms on two floors and enough bedrooms (some with en-suites) to accommodate our huge party of 11. It also had a large kitchen and dinning area which was perfect for us all to have a cooked breakfast. Its location was ideal, close to Flaggy Shore and the beautiful Burren area. I was expecting this area to be quite isolated but to my surprise, there was a lot of activity with lots of locals walkers and cyclers on the Flaggy Shore loop. There was even activity on the water with local swimmers, fishing boats and jet skis! To finish our walk we enjoyed a local stout in Linnanes; which we later found out served the most delicious fish and chips. Séamus was an attentive host and a pleasure to deal with, that always responding to our questions. We wish we had more time to spend at Séamus home . Thank you for hosting us! Catherine

Clean, spacious and cozy. Overall a wonderful place to stay. Lots of room to spread out. Wood burning stoves kept us warm in November. Kitchen is fully equipped and large dining table was inviting. Washer dryer available. Comfy beds. Easy to walk to delicious restaurant at the end of the street and beautiful walking and swimming on the bay. Short drives to local attractions. Host was easy to contact and prompt with responses

Wonderful home for our family vacation. Seamus was great to work with, and the house was spacious and clean. The house is a quick walk to a great restaurant and boasts beautiful views of the Burren and Galway Bay. The location is perfect for trips to the Cliffs of Mohr, Galway, and many other popular spots. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to groups looking for a memorable trip!

The property was lovely, and exactly as pictured. We were extremely comfortable in the home and thoroughly enjoyed all the incredible views of the water. The town of New Quay is quaint and welcoming. We have a lot of amazing memories from our visit to Ireland. We couldn't be more grateful for Lisheen House and all that Seamus did to make is so comfortable for our large group of 11.
