Loved the house, the location and the views. Very peaceful and just a short drive into Boulder. House was very unique and interesting to stay in for a few days. Would definitely stay there again. Only complaints were that the theater room TV had a non-functioning remote...so you couldn't use that room at all (would have been nice to watch some Saturday college football). Also, there was food left in the kitchen trash can from the last guests and there was a bunch of dead bugs laying out on the kitchen counters. You're in the wilderness, so I get that dead bugs happen...just wish someone had done a 5 minute sweep of the house before we arrived to remove the trash and bugs off the counter. Certainly not a deal breaker and would stay there again.
Pretty amazing views and truly interesting. The house felt like a period piece of art. Really enjoyed our time there with adult children
Had a Wonderful Thanksgiving at this house with phenomenal views.
The house was great. The views are amazing. Everything you need is right there and it’s close to Boulder, beautiful hiking in the national parks and around the house itself. Hosts and neighbors are great and very responsive! Highly recommended.
We were in town for softball & needed somewhere between 2 different players fields! This house was everything we needed & more! It’s so peaceful, well equipped, the owners were great at communicating & very helpful! Our family felt so comfortable & had such a great time! Would recommend this house to anyone looking to relax & enjoy their time in Colorado!
Unique architecture in a remote mountain top location with great views. Enjoyed our stay!
Great rental unit - my friends and I would all definitely rent this again.
We had a wonderful time staying in the Barrett House. It was very comfortable, with a funky vibe and a gorgeous setting. It was very well appointed, with everything a family could need. The beds were comfortable (something that you don't always find in rentals), there were lots of spaces to hang out and relax, and the atmosphere was beautiful. I hope that we will be able to stay there again!
It exceeded our expectations. Great gathering spaces, yet large enough to have privacy if desired. Close enough to town for supplies and far enough from neighbors for privacy. Lovingly restored with tasteful period pieces, but modern baths and kitchen. Curated artwork throughout the home was an added plus.
We really wanted to give this experience 5-stars! The property was absolutely beautiful and house was very well-stocked. It's close enough to Boulder to get everything you need, but you still feel like you're in your own little world. Waking up to the snow was magical and after a long day hiking, soaking in the hot tub was divine...until it wasn't. All 3 of us developed painful staph-infected rashes (bacterial folliculitis) all over our bodies after using it. When I contacted the owner, he said we were supposed to shock it before use, but no chemicals were provided, the caretaker did not mention it during our check-in, and neither did any of the house instructions. Especially for a property at this price point, they should do a better job ensuring the health and safety of guests. :(
