Absolutely no tobacco smoking allowed at the property, however we are MJ friendly.
Sorry! No pets are allowed to stay at the lodge.
Be aware that we have limited cell service at the lodge, though phones with WiFi calling should work, and we provide a landline for guest use.
Sky Mountain Lodge was designed and built to be a “passive solar” house, meaning that the main source of heat is the sun! The secondary heat source is the wood stove; which when running regularly, heats the whole house quite well. That said, guests may not want to maintain a fire during their stay. So we’ve provided several individual space heaters for night time use and cloudy days.
The lodge is located at 8,300 feet above sea level and altitude sickness is a possibility at this elevation.
We are in bear country! Please do not leave food in your vehicles overnight and be sure to lock car doors; our bears have learned how to open them :)
The WiFi is reliable high speed DSL.
The lodge is supplied with a reverse osmosis system in the kitchen so the water is absolutely fine to drink, no bottled water needed!
We are on a septic system and we ask that guests please NOT put anything other than the toilet paper provided into the toilet. This includes “flushable” wet wipes, they are NOT septic safe. We provide flip top lidded trash receptacles in the bathrooms to place sanitary products, wet wipes etc.
Due to bears, we do not have outside trash storage, so if you fill a bag please place it in the extra trash bins in pantry/laundry room.
We recycle! All glass, cans, paperboard, cardboard and plastic containers (rinsed as needed) go into mixed recycling containers also in the laundry/pantry off the kitchen.
Beautiful property. Unique home with gorgeous views. Roads getting to it left a bit to be desired but that's what you get when you want a secluded place to stay.
Property and view were excellent. Only about 1/3 of windows had screens so you were either very warm inside or had a lot of bees and other insects inside. Property only had three sets of towels for four people. Exterior landscaping could use attention to improve first impressions.

Our stay in this home was the perfect compliment to the enchanting town of Gold Hill! This home is enchanting and peaceful and exceeded our expectations in every way! Thank you for sharing your home, it brought us much peace, joy, and relaxation!
We loved our stay! The house was comfortable and exactly as advertised. The local restaurant in Gold Hill was excellent. Easy drive into Boulder as well. Overall great experience and we would stay again!
Everything about our stay was fantastic and we'd highly recommend it to anyone interested :)
It was a wonderful house to truly disconnect and enjoy the breeze and the views, while still being pretty close to Boulder. This was our favorite part of our Colorado trip and we would definitely come back!
We had a fantastic stay. It's a peaceful, relaxing place in the mountains, close to nature. A really nice place to take some time off. Hiking and nature very close - could just walk out the door or drive to the mountains. A short nice walk from Gold Hill, a cozy village with a good restaurant.
Shelby the Manager was Fabulous ? Our Family will be back !!! Everything was organized & Very Clean Thank You Karmen ?
This was the perfect relaxing getaway for four friends coming from different corners of the country to spend a long weekend together. The home was quite comfortable and had great spaces to gather, as well as places to spend time alone with a book or a glass of wine. The beds were all comfortable - my wife & I stayed in the master bedroom, which has a sweet little private deck where I did yoga during the day and we sat together watching the stars at night. It also has a nice deep bathtub. The kitchen was well appointed and a good size for staying in and cooking. Super glad we chose this place - it was fantastic. I would love to stay there again - highly recommend! The only thing we wish we'd known beforehand: there are two routes from Boulder to get to the home, which is essentially at the top of a mountain. One is a tiny bit faster (by 5+ minutes) and a shorter distance (Sunshine Canyon is what people called it, but our map didn't call it that) BUT it is mostly all gravel/dirt road and is very twisty/curvy (so not the best option if someone in your car gets carsick easily - there is nowhere to pull over - or your car doesn't handle well on gravelly roads). The other route, which goes around the mountain from Boulder and goes up a different side, has only a small portion of gravel road (a couple parts that are a little steep) and you can drive faster the majority of that route; plus way less curvy.
