I liked this property very much, it is comfortable, roomy and surrounding area is safe and quiet. The only criticism I have is there were no spare toilet paper (almost ran out) and paper towels (barely sufficient), and no tissues in either bathroom hence using paper towels as tissues. There was no additional stock available that could be located. Also, as others have noted, why not add a few more coffee mugs in the cupboard. This being said, I would likely visit again. Please provide some spare stock of these cheap items.

Overall was perfect for our needs. Booked location for a week. Could have used a couple more trash bags but not a big deal. Very nice place and room for people to spread out and not be on top of each other. Would book again if in Rochester.

Property seemed unready for visitors when we arrived. The doorknob to the second entryway door fell off when going to use it. There was a mop plopped over in the dining room and the shampoo/conditioner/body wash containers in the bathrooms were empty. The coffee maker was greasy, and toaster oven was greasy and full of burnt crumbs. There were not adequate paper products to last the week. We had to purchase toilet paper and dishwasher detergent. The host did promptly supply refills for the shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The bedding was ridiculous. each bed had a fitted sheet and an undersized comforter that barely hung over the edges of the bed. Pillows were terrible. The beds themselves were comfortable. The host did provide additional pillows when notified. It is a smaller, old house, classic to the neighborhood. But, in general, the furnishings were not setup for a group of six people. The living room was missing a coffee table and adequate chairs for everyone to gather without moving dining room chairs into the room. No chairs were provided on the nice porch. There was not adequate cookware to prepare a typical dinner. There wasn't a spatula for morning eggs and the corkscrew, a VRBO necessity, was broken. The washer and dryer in the cellar were in good condition and worked well, but the cellar was full of litter that could have easily been picked up in preparation for guests.

The house is cute with nice details. The location is very good - near many things including University of Rochester and Strong Memorial Hospital. The kitchen & downstairs bathrooms were clean. The living room had a nice TV and comfortable furniture. However, the house is not being maintained as it should be - on arrival there was a wet washcloth and an obviously dirty, stained towel in the upstairs bathroom. The shower curtain was hanging off the rod because there are not enough hooks to hold it up. The toilet seat was detached. The bathroom doorknob was broken and fell on the floor on the outside - my son was locked in - luckily we were upstairs to put the knob back on, but it fell off several more times. All of the beds, though comfortable, had either sheets that were too small for the bed or were missing or torn. The bed in one room is supported on paint cans. There had just been several inches of snow, but there was no snow shovel anywhere and we had to use a small emergency shovel from the car to clean out the driveway far enough to fit our cars. Although my communication with the host had been good prior to our stay, when I sent her a message about the problems we had encountered, she never responded. We loved the location and the house could be great if maintenance and cleaning were better attended to.

This house was fine for my group of 4 to visit the University of Rochester during alumni weekend. The price was fair for what we got, and I personally felt fine for the most part, but there were a few things that could have been a better based on what my friends shared throughout the weekend. The friend who slept in the bunk bed room was pretty uncomfortable and said she could mostly just feel the mattress springs and her back was sore. We also each only had one thin pillow. There was a lot of dust under the beds, some spiders & webs in corners, and the bed in our room seemed to be held up by a lot of paint cans which worried us a bit, but I personally slept fine. It might have also been nice to have more (and slightly nicer) towels, but there were just enough for us to each have one. The bedsheets were also kind of rough feeling, but not a huge deal. The location was nice for getting to the university and was mostly quiet. There was sufficiently comfortable furniture in the living room for the time we spent in it.I think if they just maybe hire some more thorough cleaners, get some slightly nicer towels and bedding, and replace the twin mattresses on the bunk bed it would be a lot more comfortable. But overall it worked well enough for our needs and the price was fair.

The host was responsive, entry went smoothly and the neighborhood felt safe. The air conditioning worked well and the place was comfortable. The quality of the linens and towels was lacking. The squirrels frolicking in the attic perimeter did not affect our sleep.

Having read prior reviews, there were not many surprises. My breakdown:Positives:-easy check-in/check-out-friendly hosts-excellent communication, always responded promptly and sent teams in when warranted-Pac-man machine was a huge hit, our kids loved it-location good, near Highland Park, good access to supermarkets and felt generally pretty safeCons:-the house is a little worn, can tell it's a rental -crib was broken-agree with prior reviews about cheap polyester/oddly fitting bedding-there was a squirrel infestation in the roof. Although we were told they hadn't breached the house, they were quite loud scampering around at night and early morning-slow shower drain-water condenser was leaking and the basement where washer/dryer was musty/damp smelling- they did fix it during our stay-the AC, which was quite strong at first, started sputtering toward the end of our three week trip and then just stopped working completely, making the last 2 days quite hot and uncomfortableOverall it was fine (but definitely not luxurious) for a short vacation, and as mentioned, the hosts worked promptly to address issues that came up. Worth noting that they also had addressed issues from prior guest visits, like the low quantity of dinnerware issue- we brought paper plates and utensils after reading reviews, but there were quite enough plates/cups for all 6 of us.

We enjoyed the opportunity to have our pups join us on this mini-vaca with family from our of state. The home is clean and comfortable and convenient to all Rochester has to offer.

Fine location between historic Mt Hope cemetery and Highland Park, just up from the EllwangerBarry neighborhood. Sole wish: it was VERY cold, and I couldn’t find any heat

The property fit our needs. Having stayed in a lot of homes in Rochester this was the most sparse. The furnishings and beds were comfortable. The basics like paper towels bath tissue were nearly nonexistent. The mattress cover and sheets didn’t quite fit on the beds. No extra towels and no hand towels. For a house that sleeps 6 or more, there were only 4 plates and bowls. With just a few things attended to this would be a five star review.

The property is as described. No issues accessing the house and the location makes it easy to reach U of R and Highland Park. 3 bedrooms makes it easy to sleep 3-4 kids separate from parents. The house does smell like smoke. The house was well cleaned, but the smoke smell was throughout.
