Stayed Aug 31, 2025Perfect location for a great vacation. Very quiet part of Rhode Island away from the hustle and bustle, yet plenty close enough to many of the highlights of the state. We made day trips to Newport to see the mansions, cliff walk, car museum, and just enjoy the very scenic coastline. Also short drive over to the whaling museum in New Bedford, and Slater mill north of Providence. We also really enjoyed the local beach within walking distance, or a short drive. Overall lots of things to do and see. Pretty much all of the local roads are safe for walking or running, not much of a shoulder but everybody seems courteous and not in a hurry and get over for you.The house was perfect, great views and very well stocked. We really enjoyed using the gas grill while sipping on a glass of wine. Overall couldn't ask for more.

Stayed Aug 23, 2025This is a comfortable home with a million dollar view of the ocean, just 5 minutes by car from the town beach, South Shore Beach. The rooms are tastefully and artfully decorated, with lovely maps, paintings, and sea glass displays. The beds are very comfortable. The back deck is wonderful to take in the view. Our family loves it here--we've stayed here twice. The owners are friendly and extend kind hospitality! Highly recommend this rental!!

Stayed Jun 21, 2025Where to begin…owners were unbelievably responsive, answering any and all questions quickly via message. Views from the house (bedrooms, deck and yard) are priceless. Air conditioning was very helpful on this hot week and there was no shortage of things to do (cornhole, bocce, etc). Walk to the beautiful beach is short and leisurely- sunrise in the morning viewed right from the window and sunset in the evening down by the preserve. Looking forward to our return next year!

Stayed Oct 4, 2024The views from the back deck were gorgeous and it was so quiet and peaceful sometimes it was hard to leave the house! The beach is walkable but we preferred to drive so we could do our walking along the beach. Hosts were very helpful and on top of everything.

Stayed Jun 22, 2024We have rented this property many times over the years and it never disappoints. The views are so amazing and the area very quiet and peaceful. There were 6 of us staying here and plenty of room for all. The house comes with a beach pass which was a nice bonus. The property managers are easy to reach and very responsive. We love the quaintness of Little Compton. It’s also easy to get to Tiverton Four Corners and Westport if we want more activity. Groundswell is a great little restaurant and of course Gray’s ice cream. We discovered Westport Sea Farms for the best lobster rolls. Buzzards Bay Brewing is a fun place too! We love our stays at this house and can’t wait to return!

Stayed Aug 27, 2023My family loved staying at Oceana! While the facade looks modest, the interior is lovely and the backyard is spectacular! The bedrooms are restful and the beds are very comfortable. While we were there, a hurricane was far offshore and brought huge waves, a soothing backdrop for sleeping, and a a large group of surfers, sometimes just off the bluff behind the house. The backside deck is wonderful, and the view of the ocean from the house is panoramuc and amazing! The artwork and colors (lots of blues, but other colors too) in the house are very pretty, carefully chosen to create a serene and welcoming atmosphere. Andrea and Gary kindly left us a bottle of wine--so appreciated! Our family would definitely return to this property if our circumstances allow. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. It was a happy place to relax and have valuable family time. And we so valued the beach pass for South Shore Beach. Many thanks to Gary snd Andrea for sharing their lovely home with us!

Stayed Jun 17, 2023As the last reviewer noted, this house is not for spa-seekers or folks of a certain age who care about cleanliness. It's for families with children who are going to spend their time outdoors on the fantastic, giant green lawn, breathing in the salt air from the direct ocean view beyond. Watching swans fly overhead. Tracking hedgehogs. The house was stocked with everthing one could need from games to cookout tools -- and the price seemed pretty darned low should one fill it with six. It's a beach house! With a beach pass included to park at the beach just a half mile (easy walking distance) away. And of course Little Compton is magical -- with the hosts taking time to guide visitors to favorite spots.
