Formerly a highly rated bed and breakfast, the Log Castle is now available for home rentals. Built with logs harvested from family property, the Log Castle is a warm and welcoming haven for your family and friends. Its eclectic design, stunning water views from most rooms, and beachfront location make it an ideal home base for your vacation. Enjoy the beach, with a wide sandbar, 2 small (kid) and 2 adult size kayaks for paddling, a raft for swimming, and miles of low-populated beach. Ifyour timing is good, you can even watch whales surfacing in the bay just off the deck. The kitchen has been renovated, with stainless appliances, granite counter top, and a 180 degree water view. The large fireplace in the living room makes for a comfortable and cozy retreat. Miles of walking trails extend through the woods across the road. The charming village of Langley is a mile and a half away - a five minute drive or a walk along the beach - with shops, galleries, restaurants, and more. One highlight of the Log Castle is that the kitchen and two bedrooms are each in the eight-sided tower - try not to argue over who gets the top tower room with its phenomenal views. Fishing and swimming (especially when the tide has come in over a sunny sandbar) - make for wonderful family memories.

Bedroom 1 (main floor): Two sets of bunk beds (four singles)
Bedroom 2 (2nd floor): Queen bed, plus queen sleep sofa in adjacent sitting room
Bedroom 3 (2nd floor tower): King bed
Bedroom 4 (3rd floor tower): Queen bed plus sleep sofa
All bedrooms have private en suite baths

Kitchen is fully equipped with dishes for 14. The dining table - a great conversation piece made from a base cut of a log harvested in the 1920s - seats eight comfortably and ten if you're good friends.

Wifi and cable are provided; cell phone reception is adequate but not ideal in all areas of the house.

A charming one-bedroom cottage just steps down the hill is now available for rental, if additional sleeping space is needed. It can be rented independently or, if available, in conjunction with the Log Castle. See more information at vrbo.com/4360509.

There is an attached owner occupied apartment, so we can answer any questions or address any issues you may have either in person or by text. Also a 10:00 pm quiet time is requested.

Such an incredible and unique property, with terrific hosts and easy check in/out. Perfect accommodations for our group of 7 adults and 6 children. Miles of private beaches steps away from the house (we were the only people on the beach throughout our stay). Several seals camped out in front each night, and a pair of bald eagles were nesting in a tree right next to the house. Truly magical property all around.

Our stay at the Log Palace was fabulous! It was our second time staying there yet there were new details noticed in the incredible architecture. The host is super friendly and answered questions about how her father was able to build this building almost single handedly.

This trip was everything we never knew we needed. Lea and Dennis were amazing and their home is absolutely incredible. Lea was so kind and so helpful. I cannot wait to return. The house itself is cozy and gorgeous. There is something cool around every turn. The view is absolutely breathtaking. This house is healing. I would 1000x recommend staying here.

We loved our time at the Log Castle. It was such a unique place, and the views!! We used the kayaks, and the kids loved playing on the beach with the sand toys. The kitchen is very well stocked for preparing meals. The hosts were great, and communications and instructions were prompt and clear. We only stayed 2 nights, and we can’t wait to return for a longer stay!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Log Castle! The layout was perfect for our two families. Every room had their own bathroom plus 1 extra! The kids were begging us to steal the tower bedrooms for themselves. They loved ringing the bell. 4 days later we were still discovering unique details about the house. The kitchen was well stocked. We loved exploring the beach and looking for seals. We loved being so close to Langley so we could explore town (eat at The Bravern!), visit the Langley Whale Center, hike the saratoga woods and find waterman rock, explore Double Bluff Beach, and so many more things!

This has become an annual tradition for a dozen of us that meet up every year and play board games for a long weekend. The house is fantastic, the views are beautiful, the hosts are wonderful; it’s just an all-around great spot.

We had an excellent stay for the Langley Murder Mystery weekend. The house is exactly as depicted! It's super funky and one of a kind. Lea is a fantastic host, even going out of her way to notify us of an otter playing on the dock in case we missed it. Speaking of nature, you can't do better. We saw a whale, a huge troop of seals right outside the house, otters, eagles and herons. If you're looking for a family-centric getaway and want views, and nature, this is an excellent spot. Keep in mind, this is a tough spot for folks with mobility issues - lots of stairs and steep slopes. Beyond that, the house is clean, well-stocked and situated close enough to Langley to take advantage of town. We all agreed, we'd visit again.

We spent a cool winter weekend on Whidbey Island and couldn't have picked a better place to relax and enjoy the cabin, views, and sealife that the Log Castle has to offer. The entire family loved exploring all the unique aspects of the cabin and property, discovering a number of very unique aspects of a hand built family cabin. It was an honor to have had the opportunity to stay here. Thank you.

From the very beginning of our stay it was magical. The front entry all the way down to the water was a Northwest paradise for our family vacation. Truly one of a kind memory.
