Large Ranch Style Home with 7 bedrooms

Great for our large family group. Jody brought extra tables and chairs for us and was easy to work with. Patio was enjoyed by all. Many flexible rooms, large main kitchen made meals prep convenient.

The house was clean and had everything we needed to have a fun time with friends and family. The carpet was updated and very clean. The listing was accurate. The pool across the street was very nice. There was a great grocery store 0.4 miles away which was helpful. The home is older, but had good use of the space and many TV's.

Good location but house was not very clean and people had smoked in most rooms.

Home was as advertised. Good location for what we wanted to do. Close to shopping too. Home was clean. Easy access from the street. I would recommend this home. It's located in a nice residential area. Was able to have the entire family stay in this one place. We had a great time.

Even though the home is still in the midst of some minor remodeling, we had a wonderful stay and had all the amenities of home, plus some! The home was large enough to easily accommodate 8+ adults for a week without running into each other all day. We were pleased to find not one or two but SEVEN TV's in the home. No need to fight over the remote! Wonderfully comfortable beds in a variety of sizes and made for sleeping in later (if one so desired!) The home was in a nice quiet neighborhood easily accessible to nearby stores and attractions. Despite getting rain EVERY day we were there, we would have had use of a nice patio and grill on the property in addition to a swimming pool and tennis court across the street that are strictly for folks living in that neighborhood. We also had a small reunion of cousins while there and Jody was gracious and brought extra tables and folding chairs to the home to accommodate us. He also offered us use of separate facility several miles from the property that had we chosen to utilize it would have given us even more room for our reunion plus the ability to play volleyball or basketball indoors! Jody was prompt in answering any questions that came up and was pleasant to work with from the beginning to end of our search for accommodations and subsequent stay. Definitely a keeper for future family events!

The roof is leaking. Some maintenance and repairs have been overlooked. There are a lot of beds with clean bedding, lots of towels. Kitchen is OK on appliances. Having the pool across the street was great! We spent a lot of time there with small grandchildren using the wading pool as well.

We were disappointed in the condition of the house. There was no toilet paper upon arrival and one of the beds was broken Jody did bring some basic supplies over 1 1/2 hrs after our arrival and Gerry helped him fix the bed. He was very apologetic about many things with the house and there were all kinds of things he was going to get to once there was a break in the rental schedule. There were many cosmetic issues (like woodwork that had been partially spray painted...throughout the house). My 3 kids said they had all used VRBO before and never encountered anything like this. This was our first experience with VRBO. We did have a great time in DesMoines and the 4 young grandsons enjoyed the pool across the street. I think the house has a lot of potential. It just needs a lot of time and TLC to prepare it for rental. July 8-10 Gerry and Jane IA
