3 generations came together to celebrate Thanksgiving here, and we had a wonderful time! We cooked a turkey on the gas grill; the house was very well stocked for cooking and serving a big meal for 15. We brought a folding table for an extra 6 seats in the kitchen/dining room, which was a perfect fit (turns out the house has a folding table and 6 nice folding chairs!).We enjoyed the fire pit and appreciated it was well stocked with wood. The hot tub took until the second night to heat up, but that wasn’t a huge deal (just a little disappointing). FYI for those figuring out sleeping arrangements—the bed in second bedroom downstairs is only big enough for one adult, unless you REALLY like to snuggle. Haha. We had a great time and would stay here again!

What a great setting for a multigenerational family gathering! The home was clean and exceedingly well stocked with everything you need for a lake getaway. The dock sits on a quiet cove, perfect for fishing, swimming, paddleboarding, and kayaking, and has cleats to tie a rented boat for longer journeys out to the main lake. Game room and lower level rec room provided variety for evening intertainment. Highly recommend!

Our family stayed here for a week and loved the house. Everything about it was great, house had everything we needed as far as kitchen, entertainment etc. we brought our boat and tied up to the dock with no issues, private cove in a no wake zone which was very nice. The house layout was also perfect for a large blended family. Jim was easy to communicate with and would stay here again.

The stay was wonderful.. And would joy to rent it again celebrated my son‘s 39th birthday. And we had an awesome time.

Our stay was unfortunately impacted by several maintenance and cleanliness issues that did not reflect the premium nightly rate. The AC wasn’t functional for the first two days during very hot weather, and the outdoor deck fans also didn’t work. A sump pump failure left a downstairs bathroom unusable for a time, and service techs and cleaners visited throughout our stay to address the issues, interrupting our plans and privacy.There were further privacy concerns as we noticed undisclosed Ring cameras on the property, which the host ultimately agreed to disable during our stay.Cleanliness left a lot to be desired: we found dog hair throughout the house, crumbs and debris in the utensil drawers, stained and old pillows, and a kitchen trash can with food residue that attracted ants. Some kitchen outlets didn’t work, and the fridge and freezer contained leftovers from previous guests, so we had to clean and reorganize before we could use the space.To their credit, the host did acknowledge these issues and agreed to a partial refund after our stay. Still, for the price paid, guests should expect a much higher standard of cleanliness, maintenance, and communication. We hope the host takes this feedback seriously and makes needed improvements.

House was fantastic. Cameras all over the house not so much. Understand people wanting to protect their property however after receiving multiple texts during our stay it became uncomfortable. We won’t consider this for our next family gathering.

My immediate family from NC and my extended family from VA have rented on Lake Gaston every summer for the past 6 years and this is our favorite house so far! Communication with the host was easy and there was always a quick reply. The house was clean and well stocked. The kitchen has everything you need and more and the house has many games, books and other items for entertainment. The property is well kept with a fairly level walk down to the lake. The dock is very spacious with a shaded area, a table, and plenty of chairs. Mins from a dollar store and Food Lion.

The house has plenty of room and so many conveniences! The swimming off the dock was great with a bonus of kayaks and paddle board. The bathrooms could have been cleaned/cleaned better.

The property was amazing. Very comfortable and felt like home. My husband loved the fishing..and we caught a few fish!!! A great time was had. We made some wonderful memories. The home was very clean, smelled nice. I loved it. Mr. Jimmy was a wonderful host and great communication. Would definitely come again
