Stayed Aug 7, 2024**Title:** Ideal Lake Gaston Retreat – 5 Stars **Review:** We stayed at this Lake Gaston home with our college-age sons and a few of their friends, and it was absolutely perfect for our group of eight. The house provided the perfect balance between spaces for us to be together as a group or enjoy some quiet time separately. The location is unbeatable, with easy access to the lake for wake surfing and some intense tubing. We arrived during a tropical storm, but the house and its game room gave us plenty of space to relax and enjoy each other’s company for a rainy day. The kitchen was well-equipped, the bathrooms were spacious and clean, and the screened-in porch area was a favorite spot for everyone. The neighbors were super friendly, full of great local tips, and made us feel very welcome. We highly recommend this home and will definitely be looking to book again in the future!

Stayed Jul 13, 2024To start, we asked about an amenity that we were looking for in searching for a vacation rental. The owner went above and beyond and accommodated our need. This act of kindness made us know we had to book this rental. The home had everything we needed for the week. We loved the open floorplan of the main floor and the seclusion of the other rooms for the kids to play and have a good time. The privacy and quietness of the cove made us feel at home. We spent most of our time on the dock swimming, kayaking and fishing. Being at the back of the cove made it nice for kids to play in the water and away from all the wake of the lake. Fishing was good for the kids at the dock and around the cove. Out on the boat the marina was close for fuel and snacks. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this house. The comfort and amenities were awesome and the communication with the owner and management were great. I was even messaged a few days into our stay ensuring we were having a good stay and offering assistance if needed. It was nice of them asking instead of just renting the house and forgetting us. We will defintely consider thjs house again and recommend it to everyone. Thanks for a great stay and helping us make memories.

Stayed Jul 8, 2023This house was wonderful for our stay - each of the three ‘adult’ bedrooms has its own full bath and the kids were extremely happy with the downstairs bunk room and bath (as well as the ping pong table!). A lot of time was also spent in the screened in porch and S’mores were made in the fire pit which has a nice seating area around it. The boathouse and dock were great spots as well. The dock sits on a nice secluded cove but access to the main lake is only a short pontoon boat drive away, making it the best of both worlds. We had an issue with the county not picking up the trash for two days after scheduled pickup and the property manager was reliable, responsive, easy to get ahold of and took care of the issue. Highly recommend!!

Stayed Jun 23, 2022We had a wonderful time at this property. The home was clean (only cob webs on the outside) and was perfect for our three family vaca. The house is on a quiet cove with not much traffic. Local rental of boats for water skiing, jet skis, tubing and wakeboarding was about 15 minutes away. The three rooms with on suites was perfect. The downstairs game room and “kid” room was great. Only cons would be the upstairs “loft room” cannot be used for anyone except children to sleep. Cob webs around the outside areas would be nice to have cleaned off, and an additional trash can since recycling isn’t offered. Amenities were wonderful. Linens, toilet paper, dish soap, and paper towels were a plus to have in a vacation rental. We look forward to renting again!

Stayed Aug 8, 2021This is a beautiful property, had an amazing time with the family. I think that for the amount of money that it’s being charge for cleaning the house, the cleaning crew should do a better job. Thank you.

Stayed Jul 31, 2021No need for a spoonful of sugar, this home had everything we look for in a vacation at the lake: convenience to necessities such as boat launch, groceries, and gas; nice, open floor plan with plenty of places to get away from the crowd if you need some alone-time too. Each bedroom (save for space in loft) has its own bathroom; and the kitchen is fully stocked. We were welcomed by the local host via text, and she stayed in touch to ensure our needs were met (they were). Great dock with water toys and seating and enough space for our two 23-24’ boats and jet ski. Water at dock is 7-8 feet (quickly drops off to about 20’) in quiet cove that is great for swimming or just floating and relaxing. We did not want for anything in kitchen either*: crock pot, blender, all the cooking implements and storage containers (*except hand mixer to go with the beaters we found). There are three ice makers (two in refrigerators, one stand-alone), which for a group as large as ours is a huge bonus! Bathrooms in/adjacent to all the bedrooms was also very convenient for a multi-family group such as ours. Favorites: wooden above-ground walkway all the way to dock—no need for shoes if you’re so inclined; stand-alone ice maker; quiet, deep cove; and house layout. Would be nice to haves: a second trash can—trash is picked up weekly, but groups as large as ours generate more than one can of trash; access to enclosed area at dock to store food and drinks for use during day (both items would simply be the icing on an already tasty cake!) Thank you for sharing your lovely, well-appointed home with us this week! (All appropriate apologies to Mary Poppins)
