An ideal lakefront location and plenty of space to gather together and enjoy separate time are recurring themes in our 2 years of exclusively 5-star VRBO reviews.

Gorgeous views across Mokins Bay on beautiful Hayden Lake. Enjoy it from the spacious main cabin decks upstairs and downstairs, together with a group of up to 14 people or on your own from the hammock or your own quiet space. Mornings are quiet and peaceful. Watch for our resident eagle, lots of osprey and geese. Our location is famous for getting the last light at the end of the day.

The private dock with covered boat slip has great swimming, fishing, floating and boating. Most of the summer, we have a super beach that creates a protected place for family swimming and water fun.

This is a cozy family home, to which we are making regular updates. For the summer of 2026, that includes new couches in the main cabin, new carpet and an Amazon Fire TV so you can enjoy whatever streaming services you subscribe to. Games and puzzles galore, plus lawn games like volleyball, badminton, cornhole, and a basketball hoop.

We have an unusual big, lush lawn with a bathhouse and two glamping tents. The property is two lots, so there's space to gather together and re-charge in smaller groups or on your own.

Quiet time is from 10 pm to 7 am in respect to all in this tranquil area.

Living Spaces:
Camp Hayden consists of a main house cabin overlooking the lake, and two separate tent cabins located about 50'-60' away from main cabin, on either side of a nice lawn.

The main house has two spacious bedrooms downstairs and one small bedroom upstairs, with one full bathroom on each level. There is also a loft above the living room, with a single bed, toys, a kids' desk and puzzles and toys. This space is popular with kids. The loft and the stairs accessing it have cable railing for safety.

The upstairs bathroom has one sink, one toilet and a shower/bathtub combo. The downstairs bathroom has two sinks and a toilet & shower room, separated by a sliding door.

Both floors of the main cabin have spacious decks overlooking the lake. The top deck has a picnic table on one end and round cocktail/snack table for group gatherings during quiet mornings or beautiful twilights. The lower deck has lounge chairs, benches and a hammock.

About 50'-60' feet from the main house are the two glamping tent cabins. Each has a king size bed and two single beds, with plenty of drawers and places to hang clothing. Comfy beds and cozy linens, plus electricity for reading lights and fans.

The tent cabins are about 20' from what we call the bathhouse. This is a building with two separate bathrooms and two enclosed, open-to-the sky showers overlooked by a canopy of big beautiful trees. The bathhouse also has a sink, extra washer/dryer, small frig and freezer, oodles of lawn games and a place to sit and watch the lawn activity.

This property attracts many returnees! We hope your family will become one!

*Covered boat slip
*Chaise lounge dock chairs
*Mokins Bay location is great for fishing!
*Wonderful swimming area from beach or dock
*2-person canoe
*Outdoor dining overlooking the lake

Plenty of parking, including near the main house at end of driveway for unloading groceries!

Laundry room and fully-equipped kitchen are in the main cabin house.

Kitchen has plenty of dishes, glasses, pots, pans and baking dishes. Plus crock pot, electric griddle, panini maker and air popper.

Linens, bath and beach towels provided. Starter supplies of all basics: paper goods, shampoo, cooking spices, etc.

Location: Hayden Lake is located in Northern Idaho, near the small town of Hayden and the bigger town of Coeur d'Alene and Coeur d'Alene Lake. Our cabin is on the Eastern shore of Hayden Lake, which has 40 miles of shoreline. The Spokane airport is about a 60-70 minute drive from the cabin.

Our waterfront property is in Mokins Bay, with great fishing: kokanee, trout, bass, northern pike and crappie. Hikes in the Idaho Panhandle National Forest are close by and walking Hayden Lake Road is a pleasant work-out with inspiring views. Cyclists love the round-the-lake Hayden Lake Road adventure.

We highly recommend the Hiawatha Trains to Trail bike ride, in Wallace, Idaho if you can bear to leave the lake for a day. It's amazing!

Hayden Lake Marina rents all kinds of boats, offers a neat tour of the lake, and has a waterfront restaurant that we love --the Boat House.. We also love the Kootenai County Farmers Market Saturday mornings in Hayden. Music, organic produce, crafts, flowers, and lots of yummy things to eat at the market or bring back to the cabin.

Silverwood Theme Park is close by. Described as a gem of the Pacific Northwest, the park has great rollercoasters, a water park and a neat train ride.

Beautiful property with lots of room for people to spread out due to the thoughtfully placed tent cabins and bath house. It was lovely to all be together, but also have our own privacy. There was also a wonderful sandy swimming beach at the water that I didn’t see from the pictures— an awesome bonus!

We all agreed it was a pretty perfect for our family get together, in fact, everyone agreed it was the best place ever! We had so much fun on the beach, boat dock, deck and lawn area! My personal favorite was the outdoor shower—wonderful! It totally suited our needs with several different sleeping options. Perfect for all ages in our group. To sum it up, we loved it and hope to return!

We loved this little place. The most beautiful views. You could sit on the porch and watch birds dive in and catch fish. Or see the low hanging clouds over the lake on a cooler day. We stayed for nearly two weeks and could have stayed longer. We love fishing on Hayden. My boys have fabulous stories of how big their fish was. The dock was beautiful. Our family didn’t want to leave. They loved it so much. We golfed in Sandpoint and did the farmers market in Hayden. But aside from that we didn’t feel like sightseeing we didn’t want to miss a day on the lake. The beds were comfortable. The bedrooms downstairs were so cute, and spacious. My teens slept in the outdoor rooms and that was fabulous. I loved the kitchen, appliances were new or like new. We stay in VRBOs often. We notice something that is often over looked are clean appliances. That is not the case here. The appliances are either new or look new they are so clean! (Thank you for that.) The house is CLEAN! Dusted and not grimy. The linens on the bed smell fresh and clean and are a good quality. Plenty of space to find a quiet spot. The deck out back was spacious. It was nice because I could sneak down to the downstairs deck and read and it was quiet, shady, and peaceful. It was the perfect little getaway. The grill out back was large and clean with plenty of propane for our stay. The host was incredibly nice and gracious. I can’t think of one suggestion or one thing I would change.

Overall very nice! With small children around a vacuum cleaner would have been really nice and a quality entrance matt.

This property is amazing, specifically for a larger family. The house is perfectly setup, location is amazing and the host is so helpful and answers questions almost instantly. This is the second year our family rented this for a lake getaway and can’t wait to go again next year! Highly recommended!

This was an amazing place for our family vacation. Beautiful beach and dock, a nice green space and area for kids to run and play. The tent cabins are a great addition to make sure everyone has their own sleeping space and quiet space. And the bathhouse was a perfect addition to make sure there were bathrooms and showers for everyone.

We had an amazing time at the lake house!! The location on the lake was great and the cove was nice and quiet. The large dock was perfect to hang out and relax and we rented a boat and jet skis and there was plenty of room for everything. We especially loved the large deck on the second floor which accommodated everyone well and looks out on the beautiful lake. The owner responded quickly when we reached out and was very accommodating. We all wished we could stay longer!

We had an awesome time while we were there. Access to the lake was great, although the hike back up the stairs to the house gave us some exercise. The dock was great. It was big enough to sit on and watch the kids play in the lake. The canoe and hydro bike were a nice addition. Wish we could have stayed longer. Hopefully we will be able to return. When we can go back to Hayden Lake this is where we will stay. Communication with Kim was good. She was very quick to respond to my many questions.
