The lake was definitely the highlight of our trip

The place was beautiful, clean, great views, and easy access to Mammoth Caves Visitor Center!

Great stay, everything we needed and then some. Only complaint would be the WiFi - we were unable to connect even after rebooting. Views were beautiful, beds comfy and clean. If you are older or have difficulty walking , there are lots of steps to the lake and walking into the house, you are entering on the lower level. This didn’t affect our stay but I could see it being an issue for some less mobile. Bring spray-you are on a lake Would 100% stay again.

We absolutely loved our stay! It felt like a home away from home. The views of the lake were fantastic, the hosts accommodating, would definitely recommend!! They even made it an easy process for our furry family member to join us on our trip.

House was well stocked and very roomy. I was surprised that it actually took 45 minutes to get to Mammoth Cave Visitor's Center - the description says 20 minutes. One day we travelled to Cave City (also 45 minutes) and toured the Onyx Cave, which we really enjoyed. The tour took about 30 minutes and we descended 80 feet into the cave, but steps were spread out so we didn't have to walk up or down many at one time. Good experience!

The host was very helpful and very responsive with communication. The property itself was perfect! The house was extremely clean and amenities were well maintained and exactly as described.

We just stayed for a guys weekend and it was truly perfect spot for a group of old friends to gather. The hosts go above and beyond with lots of firewood stacked and dry, and everything you could need! The lake views are beautiful on the back deck. We will definitely be back!

Amenities were great and plentiful. The house decor was perfect for the holiday season! The attention to detail throughout the home was amazing, the hosts thought of everything you might possibly need. We loved the pool table and fire pit. Didn't go out to the lake because it's winter but maybe in future we can come back and enjoy the lake. Doggos loved it here and had many cozy naps. Our group loved every second of it!

The house was perfectly equipped with everything we needed, even for cooking a big family Thanksgiving meal. Beautiful location and super cozy.

A little tricky to get to, but the instructions provided were clear and thorough so that wasnt even an issue. We had zero problems with our stay! It felt more like staying at a friend's cabin than a stuffy rental, in the best way. We enjoyed the balcony, the lake, and cozy game nights and other amenities graciously shared by the host. Many meals were prepared in the kitchen, which had nearly everything we could ask for. Our pup also had a blast, and we're so grateful we were able to take her along on our trip. We didn't have children in our group, but the cabin would have been great for them as well. Perfect for nature lovers, as we saw and heard all manner or critters throughout our stay.

Enjoyed our stay! Cabin had well stocked kitchen, fans, and was clean. Wonderful setting, appreciated the firepit and acces to kayaks.

Everything about this cabin was perfect. The cabin, the location, the dock and pet friendly! The owners were so nice and respond quickly. We will definitely book here again!!

Beautiful property. We enjoyed our stay! Great get away on the lake! We fished and swam a lot! Check in was easy. Having a fire pit and grill was nice too! Just beautiful!

Without making this review ridiculously long, I have to start by saying that our family chose to do something different this year. For the past 14 years, we have always vacationed at the beach with our kids, so choosing a lake location was risky for us as parents. However, we all had such a blast that the kids are already asking to come back again next year! We swam, we kayaked, fished, and went out on our little boat. Spent many nights playing pool and enjoying time by the fire. Thanks to the suggestions from the welcome book at the house, we booked horseback rides for the last day and it’s something we’ll never forget! I also need to mention how great it was to bring our dogs along, who are also family, and enjoy our time with them. The house is amazing. It has everything you need and we cooked all but one meal there. The owners are very responsive and I thank them for sharing their property with us!

Second time staying here, will be back

The communication is excellent. All questions answered quickly and kind. I even received an update to a previous question concerning flooding in the area. This house is high and dry but was updated on the surrounding area. The house is beautiful and well maintained. We found everything just as promised and even better. The layout allowed a small family gathering without the feel of being overcrowded. Excellent stay, beautiful sunsets

A lovely home right by the lake. Plenty of nearby trails to hike, and the water was right there. Lovely views. The home is extremely pet friendly with signs everywhere saying they welcome owners with pets. I left money on the table for the cleaning crew, and the owner reminded me that I had already paid that in my regular payment and they refunded the money.

We had a lovely and relaxing stay at this property. The house is immaculate and the owners provided many essentials such as hand soap, dish soap, towels, and basic condiments. All of the queen beds were super comfortable (we didn't use the bunk beds or smaller bed in the basement). The kitchen is well stocked with glassware, pots, and pans. The 2nd level deck is absolutely perfect! There is a gorgeous view of the Lake, and there is a gas fire pit to help stay warm during chilly mornings/evenings. The wood fire pit by the lake is a great place to have conversations with family and friends. The red chairs are especially comfortable! We enjoyed walking everyday, and we were also able to visit Mammoth Caves. We brought 2 dogs with us, and we appreciated how pet friendly the owners are. During the time of year we visited we were not able to access the dock due to water levels, but we were aware of this before we went. It was still nice to sit on the steps to the dock and watch all the birds and wildlife. We hope to return to this wonderful property in the future.

The check in process was super easy and the house was extremely clean and the kitchen well stocked. Our only issue was that we didn't have access to the kayaks because they aren't available this time of year and the marinas do not have boat rentals until mid April.

Beautiful property and home. Very welcoming when entering with little touches to make us feel at home. Best yet - my dog loved the area and there was a long leash outside so she could just hang out. The deck was wonderful.

We loved our time spent at Lake Tails! The house was perfect, clean & fully stocked with everything we needed. The layout was a perfect fit for our large family and allowed plenty of space for everyone to be comfortable. The hosts were great took, and quick to respond when we had questions. We would definitely stay again.

We traveled with our adult kids for a quick trip to see Mammoth Cave National Park. The house was just as advertised, and provided a warm and cozy place to stay on a very cold weekend. Kitchen was well stocked. Bedrooms and bathrooms were clean. Driving directions were super helpful, and it was easy to find even at night with all the great signage. Thank you, Jim and Judy, for making it a home away from home.

Home has everything you could possibly need, spacious, clean and cozy. Host responded quickly with all of our questions. Lots of outdoor seating to enjoy the lovely area. Highly recommend!.

One of the best views and properties we’ve ever stayed at. Lots of things for kids and dogs to do. Outdoor area is just fantastic. Everything about the house was perfect. Kitchen was stocked with tools and other items more than most rentals! Loved our time here.

We absolutely loved this house. The size was perfect for our group of 4 adults and 6 kids. We just hung out, did a lot of fishing, hiked, and of course saw Mammoth Cave. The views were spectacular, and the upper deck was great to gather around. Only reason I gave the location 4 not 5 stars is that it is quite a ways back and up a steep hill...this was lovely for us, but may not be the best for others.
