Doug was great at communicating before and during our trip. Answered questions very quick. We would stay again.

The host was incredibly responsive and helpful. The house had a lovely view of the sunrise over the lake from the Balcony.

We came to Sandusky to go to Cedar Point so the location of Doug's house was perfect and just a short drive to the park.The house was clean, the beds were comfy and the common area allowed us plenty of space to hang out, share a meal and giggle about our day in the park. Thank you Doug for allowing us to stay at your place and create lasting memories.

The house was very nice and loved the view of Lake Erie. The only issue we had were the stairs. We were all over 70. There were stairs up to the decks and up to the second floor. I would not recommend for older people but for a family it is nice.Please don't hesitate to stay there if the stairs wouldn't be an issue for you.

Terrific location near Cedar Point with great waterfront views.

Good location, easy access to Cedar Point. Beautiful sunrise from the balcony. The interior is somewhat dated, but clean.

Really enjoyed our stay. Doug was very responsive and check-in and check-out process was very smooth.

Not at all as advertised. So dirty that I bought cleaning supplies to clean for the one night we stayed. Left early. Asked owner for refund and he said if I wanted to stay at a place in mint condition, that would cost 800. Not true, found a different property to stay at in same area for less than his rate. Hair all over - even on clean towels - vents were disgusting and two of my kids woke up coughing. Daughter got was bitten on the arm three times overnight by something in the sheets. Dirty towels left in washing machine.

Nice place clean

The property is very nice and surrounding area is very clean and safe. The proximity to Cedar Point is the perfect distance.

Charming lakefront cottage with wonderful views and excellent location

I asked the owner about access to the lake for fishing before renting, he said there was access, which was true, but what I didn’t know was he has two houses side by side and told both houses they could fish in the same spot that would not accommodate both families. That part was very disappointing.

We enjoyed our stay! Doug was responsive, helpful, and his mother was as well. It was a delightful time. I highly recommend this property.

Great location with exceptional views of Lake Erie!

Everything was great! House was clean, owner communicated well before during and after the stay. Instructions were well laid out for check-in, check out and for what was expected during the stay. Definitely recommend this place.

Great weekend spot for meet up location with friends. Great table for games & deck and balcony were good outdoor spaces with great views. Quiet neighborhood and close to Sandusky for restaurants. Communication with host was smooth all the way from booking to checkout.

We stayed barely 2 days, and did not cook anything. Yet the cleaning fee was very high. They had nothing to clean but strip the bed and wash sheets and towels.

We stayed at Doug’s property overnight while we were in town for a Baptism. The house was very clean and nicely decorated. Plenty of space for us to spread out. The view of the lake is beautiful! The neighborhood is very nice. Wouldn’t mind staying here again in the warm weather.

We had a very nice stay at this home and enjoyed our trip. The view is spectacular especially from the second floor.However, whoever cleans this house needs more direction on the following areas. The first floor toilet by the washer and dryer does not flush and needs new inner workings. The kitchen and both shower spouts had an abundant layer of mold on them, which we cleaned. The kitchen faucet base still had the original tape on it which kept flaking off. The coffee pot was clean on the outside, but the inside had built up residue which we had to scrape off. There was alot of black mold underneath the rim of the upstairs shower. Under ALL toilet rims looked like they had not been cleaned in months. We cleaned all of these on the first day. The top of the refrigerator was loaded with dead insects and a pretty substantial layer of dust. There were crumbs (and puzzle pieces) on the floors and underneath tables. Once we cleaned, we truly enjoyed our stay. Doug, thank you for reaching out to us the day of our arrival. We were having computer issues and could not respond. McAfee fixed our issues the second day of our stay. These issues were not the fault of the property.

We are a family of 4 that was visiting our Ohio family over the holidays and Doug's property was great. There was plenty of room for us all to spread out and even though the weather was wet and windy, the house was air tight and we didn't have to mess with the thermometer much at all. There were plenty of towels, pillows, plugs, tvs, etc. We will definitely book again.

Fishing and shooting vacation

The location of this home is amazing!!! We had originally planned to go to Cedar Point but they were at max capacity at noon so we found so many other things to do…Ghostly Manor (not a haunted house but play area with skating rink), African Safaria drive thru and Lagoon Deer Track to name a few. Being from Michigan we are aware of insects by water but wowza, this place was loaded with all kinds!!!! Thank goodness the view is just as gorgeous from the inside. If you plan on using the deck/grill take some repellent, spray and candles. Even opening the door lets in a handful of insects. This did not ruin our stay one bit because, like I said, we live near water and know about it. The layout is exactly like shown in photos. Their family lives right by the house and are available for any questions, concerns, or just to chat. I would recommend this place to anyone traveling to the Sandusky area.

Outstanding. Clean, efficient, great communication with owner.

A cute house on Cedar Point rd. We are looking to make the most of life since mom started declining with dementia. She always wants to watch the water so we are looking for the most ideal spot for her to enjoy it. This place did not disappoint!

Our stay was wonderful! Property listing was accurate. Property owner was extremely professional in all means of communication. We appreciate the owner making significant efforts to ensure our stay was very good. Property location is ideal. Very close proximity to travel to Huron and downtown Sandusky. Enjoyed great food, watching the sunrise and sunsets!

First time using VRBO and all went surprisingly well. We visit the Lakes often, normally staying in the Vermilion area hotel but this trip was to celebrate Grandpa turning 96 so we wanted a little more room. Communication was excellent, property easy to find, and lock worked as instructed. First floor bedroom with bathroom was perfect, and I loved the upstairs separate living area. The main bedroom upstairs reminded me of a cruise ship cabin, which was perfect. It took a little getting used to all the floor to ceiling windows without blinds or curtains but the views were absolutely worth it. The steps up the back was a little challenging for my grandfather, but he could easily walk around to the front entrance. The Wifi worked perfect for me to work from there one day. We all loved the Sunrises from the front deck, and Sunsets from the backyard. Rate was very reasonable and deposit was returned within 48 hours after checking out. I would stay here again, and liked that this owner has other properties close together that large families could book multiple homes and still be close enough to gather for dinner or visiting.

We liked the location and the view. It was post Labor Day, and very quiet. Short drive to stores and cedar park.

Safe

Our family of 4 stayed here as a stop over on our trip to NY. We hit Cedar point for the day while here. House was so close to the park, had amazing views from the 2nd floor and met our family’s needs. We really enjoyed the location - you can’t beat it! The only down side (and really is not a fault, just something you should know) is that the stairs are a little steeper than normal in the house, so if you have mobility issues, keep that in mind when booking. Even with that said, we would for sure book this house again!

Not great for an extended stay. Tough to cook excetera…

Very convenient location to Cedar Point. The views are beautiful from the balcony. Found everything we needed for our stay. We stayed with our grandchildren who are tweens, they loved that they had their own space. Would definitely stay again.

House was as described. Great location along Lake Erie. Communication was great with the host. Host’s family was very nice and answered any of our questions.

Instructions were good, the view was also very nice. Small kitchen and a little more wear and tear on the home than I'd expected for the price, but all in all the we had a nice visit. Just waiting on my refundable deposit and once I get that back, I'd say all in all it was a successful short trip to Sandusky, OH.

This rental unit was perfect for a family. The layout of the house allows a group to stay upstairs as well as downstairs We used the outdoor grill which was a nice convenience. The view of Lake Erie is beautiful. Would highly recommend!
