Lake Michigan Waterview Family Retreat - Steps to Beach & Downtown Charlevoix

Wow! The Palmer house exceeded our expectations and was the perfect beach spot for our family getaway. The house is beautiful and well stocked with everything that you could possibly need. Our host Tim communicated with us to ensure everything was just right. The beach and playground were so close - just steps away and we enjoyed walking to the nearby shops and restaurants downtown. We enjoyed the big front porch seating and used the grill and fire pit. Everything was very clean and updated. I highly recommend this place. You will not be disappointed!

Everything was perfect. The home was clean and beautiful. The beach is a one minute walk. Tim answered any questions almost immediately. Would definitely recommend this stay!

It’s a lovely house , decor is fit for a lake house. Walkable location to beach mushroom houses and downtown. Solid core doors help deaden sound and the floor did not squeak. The stairs are steep but had non slip thread.All bedroom are upstairs plus 2 bathrooms that were reachable from hallway.1 bathroom with shower is down stairs. Front porch has ample comfortable sitting with views of the channel and lake however the view is preceded by small lit parking lot.Only thing would be nice to have some games for all age kids and adults for rainy days.We would definitely stay there again. Well appointed lake house.

The cabin was lovely. We had the unfortunate timing of midge fly season by the water. They were not too bad by the cabin. We still had a great stay. The cabin is a great location to visit Harbor Springs and Cross Village.

I would recommend different kitchen chairs. The wooden ones are a bit hard on most people. Otherwise everything was great.

Great location, really close to a beach and town

We’ve stayed at this home several times now, and it’s become one of our favorite family traditions. It’s the perfect getaway — ideal for families or a small group of friends. The location couldn’t be better: walking distance to everything in town and just a short drive to Petoskey, the Tunnel of the Trees, and so many great spots nearby.Each visit has been a wonderful mix of comfort, convenience, and connection. The home is always clean, welcoming, and thoughtfully set up for guests. We look forward to returning each year — it’s truly a special place that’s become part of our family’s story.

We loved everything about the house. The views, the proximity to downtown, the cleanliness, everything!

The rental is beautiful, well equipped and awesome location. We had a problem with the entrance code one night, we weren't able to contact the host right away but we eventually were able to connect and he was more than helpful and gracious. Very nice man. We did call the VRBO contact center at the time and they were less than helpful, spent an hour on the phone with them, did not get any help and discovered they have no emergency plan in place. Very disappointed in VRBO itself but the host and rental were awesome!!!

This place is the most amazing place. The house is very clean, comfortable and has everything you need to enjoy your stay. The location is perfect. We enjoyed sitting on the porch watching the boats go by. The beach is steps away and you can walk to town to enjoy everything Charlevoix has to offer.

Great experience all around, cannot beat the location, we had a wonderful stay and hope to come back.

We had an incredible time in Charlevoix in the Palmer House. The house was relaxing, cozy and just what our family needed. The beds were very comfortable, including the pillows, the baths/showers were great and the kitchen was awesome. The beach chairs and towels made our treks to the beach convenient and relaxing. Mornings and evenings on the front porch rocking chairs helped start and close our days.

Everything about our experience in this beautiful Charlevoix home was five star. The location of the home was very close to downtown with beautiful views of Lake Michigan.

We come here yearly and it is always a fantastic trip! The property meets all of our needs and it is in a fantastic location. Highly recommend, you won’t be disappointed.

Great stay! Super clean and very beautiful. Owner was prompt in communicating with us when we had an issue with the bathroom but everything else was great :)
