We enjoyed the quietness, location and the space for our family. It is a quick drive to lake quinault and the various trail heads. We will come back again!
This was a very nice cottage with a beautiful setting. Everything was set up and ready for us when we arrived. It would have been nice to have a notebook of local amenities and check out procedures but we figured it all out
My husband and I enjoyed our stay in John’s home and had a great time exploring the area around the lake. The house was clean, check-in was easy, and John was super responsive to a couple of questions we had. We enjoyed beautiful views of the lake from almost every room, we had everything we needed for a peaceful weekend getaway. Thank you, John!
Fantastic lake view. The house was spacious and the kitchen was well equipped. The house needs a deep cleaning and repairs and upkeep. It is pet friendly which is a plus. Would stay again.
Great house with wonderful views of the lake and mountains. Well set up house with all the amenities. The bald eagle that flew by from time to time made it even better. Moonlight reflections across the lake was also a plus. Near a couple of small grocery stores and several dining options from fancy to plain are another plus. We loved it and would rent again if in the area.
We absolutely loved our stay here. The house was clean and the view on the lake was amazing. The location is perfect to see some of the southern spots of ONP, which there are not a lot of great options for folks to stay close to this area. We are so thankful we could stay here and have a comfortable place to rest. We ate dinner at the lodge, and that was fun to have close by. The host was helpful and responsive. Thanks for a great stay.

My friends and I had a great stay at the property. The sauna inside the house was super rad too. The host was awesome and very communicative. 10/10 recommend.
The location of this house was great to explore the Olympic National Park, and the lake views were stunning. The house itself could use some care to get a 5 star review. Upon walking in, it looked like the cleaning crew left half way through the job. There were used cleaning supplies out, dirty floors and cobwebs on the walls, dirty linens on the beds. I swept the whole porch before sitting and removed multiple spider webs. The host was communicative and took steps to remedy the situation, which we were thankful for. Also a lot of spaces were locked off, which felt strange as guests. I completely understand areas being closed off to guests, but this felt a bit unwelcoming. I would suggest designating one area as off limits to reduce this feeling. In general this home felt like staying at your grandma's house who is too elderly to clean anymore and doesn't really trust you. But I think these are all easy fixes for future guests.
Plenty of wood for the stove and firepit.
It's all about location. The view of Lake Quinault from the house and the lakeside deck is phenomenal. That's why you'll want to stay here. Plus the relatively easy proximity to hiking in the national park and walking on ocean beaches. The house itself is pretty much average, with the addition of a sauna and a massage chair. It's all about the view though.
We enjoyed dining on the deck overlooking the lake, convenient access to the beach and a backyard fire pit. Some of us used the sauna and massage chair. There is plenty to do in the Lake Quinault area and the ocean is an easy drive. Wildlife seen from the deck: loons, river otters and a bald eagle. We brought our own card table for a jigsaw puzzle. We shared dishwashing responsibilities so lack of dishwasher didn’t bother us. Wonderful spot!
This place was great, right on the lake with plenty of room for friends or family. The sauna was amazing and the house was perfect. Thanks for the great family experience!
This house has an amazing view and lake front deck that is private even though it is in the middle of a few houses. The beach was great for swimming and throwing rocks, the deck great for eating and reading and there are a lot of activities around the lake. Limited nearby viable grocery stores or restaurants so food requires planning. And the house is small for 7 people if it is rainy. We would come back to this house.
Wonderful stay inside the national park!! The massage chair is brilliant after a long day of hiking!!
