Enjoy this lakeside cabin just 20 minutes to Pleasant Mountain Ski Area and 45 minutes to Sunday River Ski Resort. Also within 40 minutes of Cranmore and less than an hour from Attitash, Wildcat and Black Mountain of New Hampshire. There are local nordic skiing opportunities at Lake Kezar Country Club just 5 minutes away, Five Fields Farm in Bridgton, Stark’s Mountain in Fryeburg, and other options a bit further away in Bethel, North Conway and Jackson NH. Our new Vermont Castings gas stove will help to keep you toasty after your days of winter fun.

The living space is newly updated but still simple, with wood and tile floors throughout and natural wood accents. Open concept living, dining and kitchen area. Main bedroom with vaulted ceilings and full bathroom adjacent. Plus three more bedrooms and another bath with large shower stall.

Washing machine and dryer are included. Wifi. Cable TV with DVR. Roku streaming. Retro VHS player with kids' movie collection. Turntable with vintage record collection.

There’s a storage rack on the dock for the provided canoe and kayaks. Drop your paddlecraft of choice in for a sunrise or sunset paddle. The Kezar Lake Marina is conveniently located for boat rentals. Or you can launch your own boat at a nearby boat launch and tie it up to our dock for the duration of your stay. Kezar Lake is well known for bass, trout and salmon fishing.

The town of Lovell, Maine, should be on everyone’s bucket list. Nine-mile long Kezar Lake runs the length of Lovell, north to south (“from Stoneham to Stow,” as they say). Lovell has a great low-key golf course, the Lake Kezar Country Club, with the first nine holes designed by renowned golf course architect Donald Ross back in the 1920’s. It has Ebenezer’s Pub and Restaurant, adjacent to the second hole, with outdoor seating, a screened in seating area, and a nice little pub. It has a few small markets with character, including Rosie’s with a breakfast/lunch counter and the Center Lovell Market for essentials. It has two town beaches you can paddle or drive to, including one with a stunning view of the lake and mountains. And it has local walking/hiking options for families, including the Greater Lovell Land Trust’s Chip Stockford Reserve, a short walk or bike ride down our dirt road, and Sabattus Mountain, a small hike with a big view. The charming Charlotte Hobbs Memorial Library is in Lovell Village, with two tennis courts and a children's playground behind it.

Numerous other big and small hiking options are within striking distance, ranging from easy walks into mountain waterfalls where you can swim, to 4,000 footers, to Mount Washington itself. The tallest mountain in the Northeast, Mount Washington also can be summited by car or cog railway.

This house is 25 minutes to Bridgton, which has a Hannaford supermarket, small shops and restaurants, Renys (A Maine Adventure), the Magic Lantern cinema, the Bridgton Twin Drive-In for a throwback experience, and Shawnee Peak Ski Area at Pleasant Mountain. It’s 20 minutes to Fryeburg, home to Maine’s Blue Ribbon Classic (the Fryeburg Fair) held the first week of October, Saco River canoeing, a section of the Mountain Division Rail Trail, a small supermarket, candlepin bowling for rainy days, a covered bridge and a cool little coffee shop (Fair Grounds Coffee). 35 minutes to North Conway, gateway to New Hampshire’s Mount Washington Valley, and home to many outlet stores. And 45 minutes to Bethel and Newry, home to Sunday River Ski Area.

We’ll leave a notebook for you with lots more unsolicited opinions about what there is to do. Not to mention some board games, puzzles and books to help you enjoy the simple peace and beauty of this special place.

This was the perfect quiet family getaway location. Very private; neighbors, but you wouldn't know they're there. Great grill and shaded deck for outdoor dining, and a nice large table inside for eating and games. It has a fully stocked kitchen with sharp knives- not common for VRBOs and MUCH appreciated by someone who enjoys cooking! No need to bring salt/pepper/spices (there's tons in the cupboard). I LOVE that I could bring my pup- he loves swimming, and we brought his PupPlank and tied it to the dock cleat so he could retrieve to his heart's content :) We rented a boat for a few days from the Marina, which is 'right around the corner', which my daughter appreciated. The host was very responsive when I sent her a message later in the week. We will definitely look into this property again.

Everything was great, smooth process from the first step. To those considering a trip, don't forget the bug spray, the mosquitoes are relentless from the car to the house. On the dock they were fine. Great trip and the fishing could not have been better.

Beautiful property on a dead-end road on lower section of Kezar Lake. No better place to leaf peep in autumn. Kayaks/canoe available with a dock to launch from. Went to a wedding at Eastman Hill Farm--lovely. Hills all around for hiking.

My best friend and I stayed at this beloved family cottage with 1 dog over a long weekend. The property is easy to get to, perfectly situated close to the lake, with an accessible dock down a set of stairs. The dock has a beautiful view of the mountains off in the distance. It's on a dirt road and there's wonderful hiking trails nearby. The house itself is perfect for 2 friends, 2 couples or family with kids given the one floor layout, separation of the master bedroom/bath and 3 other bedrooms, bath down a separate hallway. It's very pet friendly! (selection of doggie bowls so helpful!) The kitchen had every tool, utensil you could imagine (we love to cook) and the house was extremely clean. We enjoyed our stay and it was a great place to relax and enjoy fall in Maine. We'd love to rent this beloved family cottage again!

This was our second stay here and it was Amazing. The house has everything you could ask for to be cozy and comfortable and Nancy, our host, could not have been more responsive, accommodating and thoughtful in making sure everything we needed was there. We loved our daily swims and just hanging out as a family in the large living room. A home away from home!
