Stayed Mar 2, 2024We spent a relaxing month in Key Largo at John’s home. Lovely home, pool and outdoor space, room for our family & friends to visit, great location with easy access to local restaurants & other activities. Kayaking and watching wildlife in the canals was a highlight. John was a great host who responded to any concerns quickly. Can’t wait to visit again!

Stayed Oct 30, 2021We absolutely loved our winter retreat. The house was beautiful and close to all the shops, restaurants and bars, yet very peaceful. We felt right at home with all the special touches and the pool and hot tub was an added bonus. After six warm months, we reluctantly returned to the windy city. John went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and special. Thank you, Tanye and your beautiful family for your hospitality! Hope to see you again.

Stayed Mar 8, 2021The home was beautiful and comfortable, and located very conveniently to everything I needed during my stay in the Keys. My visit was for work purposes, and I had great work spaces in different areas of the property with excellent wifi connection. Lovely patio to enjoy every non-working minute of fresh air, a little fishing off of the dock, etc. John was very quick to respond at all points, easy to coordinate with when I had to end my stay early, and just helpful and pleasant overall. Highly recommend and would absolutely stay again!

Stayed Feb 4, 2021Wonderful place to stay for a month vacation! This lovely home was our home away from home. The location cannot be beat on a canal with both front and side water. The lighting for the night is just wonderful. We rented a boat for two weeks and plenty of room to dock. Kayaking is wonderful and then you can cool off with a swim in the pool. The deck and outside sitting areas are for sun lovers or just sitting and enjoying. The cleanliness and organization of this home is over the top. Not to mention very new and nice decor. We had lots of family and friends and with the 3 bedrooms and wonderful private apartment/suite downstairs it made having guest and our children ranging is age from 25 to 30 a place that they could visit and stay up without disturbing anyone in the main home. The owner answered everything I needed always within minutes. If you are even considering this home Don’t Hesitate it’s Great ❤️

Stayed Nov 29, 2020We stayed for about six weeks over the holiday season as a working vacation and had an amazing time. The property is exactly as portrayed in the listing, a little extra room was available because of how homes are built in the Keys. The house was professionally cleaned before we got there, the furnishings were all good, and the owners left a thoughtful note and welcome gifts along with recommendations for nearby activities and dining. Key Largo Fisheries and the Dolphin Rescue are both right around the block. The fisheries has wonderful harbor side dining, and we met a great local dive shop that we could walk to for scuba dives. The fishery had fresh catch, stone crab in season, and we would frequently buy a pound or two of fish to grill on the awesome outdoor grill back at the house, or pan fry in the well stocked kitchen. We rented kayaks for a month and kept them on the amazing dock at the house. There is access to some of the most amazing mangrove kayaking five minutes down the canal, better than Pennekamp because there are no motor boats and few other people. We didn't rent a boat, but the dock at the house was definitely up to the task for bimini style boats. We enjoyed a lot of charters between diving and fishing, and recommend that for folks who haven't done boating in the shallow waters of the Keys. The appliances are new and got the job done. Some of the controls were not intuitive and we had to read instructions for the microwave and oven, but we regularly cooked for 6 and had a fine time. Some fun memories: 1: All the life you can see in the lit canal at night, we saw shark, lobster, stingray, octupus and plentiful fish. During the day we saw manatee. 2: The back deck and pool faces the sun, so were often back there sunning even on cooler and windy days. 3: This neighborhood is amazing on New Year's if you like crazy good amateur fireworks, I bet July 4 is the same. 4: Kayaking 5 minutes over to the pens at the Dolphin rescue and greeting the dolphins. Overall, this place is fully stocked, well equipped, you even have access to basic tools and equipment which is exceedingly helpful on a longer stay. We highly recommend, we would definitely come again, and hope this review helps anyone on the fence.

Stayed Feb 6, 2020My husband and I have stayed at VRBO properties and everything about this experience was excellent! Where to start... location, location, location in the heart of Key Largo. Quiet neighborhood on the canal, it is central to restaurants (many walking distance), water activities on the Atlantic and Gulf, nature parks, access to the other keys as well as Miami (we enjoyed Little Havana) and Fort Lauderdale (cruise on the InterCoastal); so much to explore and experience. The home is impeccable with high quality furnishings inside and out making it a very comfortable get away. The owners John and Tania made sure we felt welcomed through their communications with us and amenities. Key Largo is our Florida happy place and staying at the Ocean Shores home made it even better.
