Kelly Cottage ON Lake Michigan, Enough Room for the Entire Family. Pet Friendly.

Kelly Cottage has plenty of space for spreading out and is also cozy at the same time, if that makes sense, lol! Love that it is pet-friendly, and so close to Mackinac Island. We really enjoyed being so close to the water, and also close to a main road. It was quiet and calm, and the skylights in the upper rooms were a lovely surprise. We had a fair amount of rain, so didn't make a lot of use of the outdoor areas, but I could see it being a lot of fun in better weather. My note to other travelers: please keep in mind that this is a home, and not a hotel. The advantages are: plenty of room and privacy, having a full-size kitchen, and not sharing space with strangers. The downside: you have to get your own food (which is a plus for me, since I don't like getting up early for hotel breakfasts, and since my mom has special dietary needs), and there isn't 'housekeeping' service. Again, that's a plus for me since I like my privacy. There is a washer and dryer, if you need to do laundry. But there were plenty of towels and linens provided, so it was not an issue for my family. I highly recommend Kelly Cottage, especially for those going to Mackinac Island, and those with pets/children. If we come back and visit the area in the future, I will definitely try to book this lovely home again!

The home was perfect for our family's gathering. We were looking for a place large enough for 10…and still have some space to have local friends and family join us in the evenings for bonfires by the beach. I loved the mornings watching the sun rise and walking on the beach too.

Wonderful location with views and water access. Home spacious. Did not give 5 stars because listing not accurate and our family planned according to the listing. Orherwise, nice stay.

We visited the area for an annual gathering. This was our first stay at this property, and we enjoyed our stay. The property was as advertised and the host was gracious enough to allow us to check in early due to a commitment at 4:00 PM. Communication with the host was excellent and helpful for our stay.

We had a great stay at the Kelly cottage. The lake access was wonderful! We used the peddle boat and the kayaks. The kids swam everyday and loved walking out in the shallow water. The location was great right off of US-2 and a short drive to see many traditional touristy type places as well as finding some great local restaurants and shops. The communication was prompt and questions were answered quickly. We booked a year ago and it was worth the year wait. We were sad to leave when it was time to go home.

The location of the house is close to attractions. The size of the home is great for large family groups. Kitchen was well stocked. We really enjoyed the use of the kayaks and beach for the kids. Property would get a five star rating if the flaking faux leather couches were replaced, the dryer was working and the water heater size was adequate for large parties, or even better, purchase a tankless water heater.

A wonderful waterfront cottage on Lake Michigan. Number one advantage for us: very convenient to places we wanted to visit: Mackinaw City, the Island, Upper Peninsula spots (Tahquamenon Falls, Sault St. Marie). Grocery, restaurants, gas stations, etc. are all within a quick drive.We were there early in the season, so the weather was a bit cool, but we enjoyed being outside. The property is quiet, neighboring houses are a good distance. The driveway is quite long, so highway noise was not an issue. It is on Rt. 2, 65 mph speed limit and can be busy, but we never had a problem arriving or leaving the cottage.The sleeping arrangements are very good, comfortable beds. The upstairs bedrooms have roof windows with an amazing view of the sky if you wake up in the middle of the night.The kitchen is a bit small, but has good appliances, a large refrigerator/freezer and everything we needed (though there is no dishwasher, which wasn't a problem). The laundry is in a separate room with plenty of space for folding, etc.The only problem we had was the shower in the downstairs bathroom wasn't functioning and couldn't be repaired during our stay. For us, that wasn't a problem. The hosts we dealt with were great in general and specifically in explaining the shower issue (it would require a full day to fix).Finally, I should mention that we have a dog, and had no problems having her with us.Overall, just a great location and a great cottage, with great hosts.

Communication with property management/owner was very good until I gave report of things to be improved upon. The beach is beautiful, the home is well suited to a large group. The pillows were terrible with complaints from 5/6 in our group. The towels were worn. Both were in need to be refreshed, especially for a rental. Any pillow in closets held onto a musty cabin smell. In addition - the shower control in 1st floor bath was difficult to adjust, no soap left in showers. Kitchen sink faucet dripped without careful adjustment and difficult to get the hot water to flow to. Both fixtures are very dated. The kitchen well well stocked was not as clean as should be with a rental. When we went to place our trash in the trash bin - it was already full and we could not close the lid when we left. The furniture literally shed on our clothing from old pieces of fake leather from the sofa & recliner. The property could be improved with some attention to detail and strategic upgrades. If this property meets your bed needs - bring you pillows.

Spent 3 days on Lake Michigan, just west of the bridge. Beautiful sunsets every night. Home was clean, beds were fine and communication with the owners was easy. Location is handy for exploring Mackinaw Island and the Upper Peninsula.

Communication with the owner was great. My family enjoyed spending time together at the cottage. The use of the kayaks and paddle boat were great. Beautiful weather.

Check-in was easy and communication with the host was quick. The house is well stocked with. Kitchen utensils, towels and blankets. The house and area is gorgeous! We had a wonderful time.

Perfect size for our family. Spacious rooms, water access was super convenient and perfect for us to relax after long days of adventure.

Pleasant home. We liked to crack the windows and listent to the waves. Lovely views from the master bedroom. Nice to have 2 bathrooms. Unfortunately, it rained while we were there, so did not get to enjoy the beach as much as we would have liked.
